    Thanks for the video very helpful. I have just carried out the same test on my Kia 1.6crdi and my pressure sensor signal wire reads 0.00 at idle and with engine @ 3000rpm.
    The power wire is fine @ 5v and the ground is also fine. Looks like my sensor is faulty?
    The reason i checked this is my dpf never seems to regen even after 2k miles.

    If anyone can advise be grateful, replaced dpf on my mk 6 golf 1.6, with a cayc, the one I found on ebay only had a dpf sensor before the dpf, and second half of the sensor measured against atmosphere, the car runs but I keep getting intermittent faults with low voltage circuit A, and out of range, anyone had this and managed to adjust for it?

    video is very simple and explanatory enough
    Thank you very much for the video
    I have a Renault Velsatis 2.0 dci vehicle
    had particulate filter blocked
    That is why the vehicle did not raise revolution at 1000 rpm.
    After cleaning this filter said the vehicle already managed to raise the revolution
    but I started to turn on check light
    connect to a simple scanner and read error P1435
    as I understood error it was because of the pressure sensor failure
    I bought a new one but the error still fails. I wanted to delete the DTC record but immediately it came back to you, who recommended me?
    in advance thank you very much

    Possible solution is the the sensor is faulty the static voltage on this model should be around 1v (not 0.8v) plus the front dpf pipe blocks

  • @fishboy3626

    Dpf has been removed, cleaned, along with the hoses and tested and is working as it should, the exhaust system has no problems, the car is working perfectly and has had a forced regen preformed. Aircon recharged a new fuel fitter put in. But the engine management light is still coming back on (blinking) it has also had an emissions test done and is fine... totally lost for what to do next. . Kia Rio 1.1 diesel 2012.
    Thanks for any advice.

      Go to www.the-dpf-doctor.com and find your nearest accredited DPF Doctor. They will be able to help you. Don't just Google DPF Doctor, there are lots of frauds out there that claim to be members. Hope this helps.

    Great video. Quick question and it's probably a silly one but I'll ask anyway.
    My son's car cut out due to something on the dpf side of things. On closer inspection to the sensor, like the one in this video, the line on the right only has about an inch of tube left on it. I assume that should be connected to a line somewhere and that's the issue?

    • @SimplyDiagnostics
      @SimplyDiagnostics  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not necessarily, some vehicles use atmospheric as a reference from the 2nd port. Best advice I can give is to find your nearest Dpf doctor network garage. Let's fix the cause, not the symptoms 👍

    My dpf sensor melted and vw have claimed it was caused after the timing belt and water pump was changed I’ve changed the sensor but I can smell Burning again what should I do ?

    • @SimplyDiagnostics
      @SimplyDiagnostics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you can smell burning there is a significant risk of fire.
      Turn the vehicle off, do not restart.
      Have the vehicle recovered to your nearest qualified workshop.

    Good video. Most DPF pressure sensors have one of the tubes larger than rhe other. Which tube goes before the DPF (higher pressure)? Large or small tube

    • @SimplyDiagnostics
      @SimplyDiagnostics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Big tube to pressure, small tube to atmosphere or post dpf

    Hello is that the order of the cables - 5v - signal - ground ? Someone cut my cables on i am not sure if he reconnected them the right way because i have ebp sensor problem minimum differential pressure + my reading are -250mbar i changed the sensor and still the same readings , earlier i had a exhaust back pressure sensor interuption or short to earth faul + like i said my cables are cut off and spliced together with new conector so i think the problem is in the cabels are the cabels on the same order with any car brand because i have a bmw ?

    I'm getting signal at 4.7v and reading of 106kpa If I unplug the two pipes from sensor it stays same any idea where to go from here?

    • @SimplyDiagnostics
      @SimplyDiagnostics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check power and ground to sensor, if they're good and you still have 4.7v on signal line then it's probably the sensor. Be very sure and check all your wires for short to plus, to ground and to each other, also check signal line is good back to the ECU before fitting a new sensor.

    Why is there a .5 difference in pressure between front and rear pipe? Thanks

    • @trevord7659
      @trevord7659 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      one pipe is upstream of the DPF and the other is downstream. The difference in pressure is the pressure drop across the filter.

    • @SimplyDiagnostics
      @SimplyDiagnostics  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Harry, the DPF was fine, the dtc was, I assume, from previous testing. The car needed some tlc re deposits. I wasn’t actually diagnosing this, I just used it to make a video.

  • @aqib2000
    @aqib2000 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    What you need to do next for the Differential Pressure Sensor is calculate what the voltage should actually be. I.e. 1 PSI - 0.5 PSI = A difference of 0.5 PSI across the sensor. Then look at the datasheet for the voltage at 0.5 PSI. Otherwise a good video

      As a mobile tech I often work in areas that have no internet, I don't have time to be looking up sensor data sheets, my customers don't want to pay me to look up data sheets, the weather and time is nearly always against me. I use my experience and pass/fail tests as go/no go points for a logical, evidence based diagnosis, quite often, all I'm looking for is a credible change of state for given test conditions. Cheers.

    • @aqib2000
      @aqib2000 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SimplyDiagnostics I appreciate your logical thought process, it gets the job done. Just my 2 pence, keeping a log between common vehicles specifically for the Dpf Sensor at idle is handy as they tend to drift in voltage but function in terms of pressure, especially on VAG cars as their G450 is mounted right on top of the hot DPF unlike this vehicle where it's away from direct convection
