Damn, i'm looking at getting a mark 2 2016 kuga diesel, this diagnosis looks complicated as Fk, like i could pay £££ just for the diag time. So now i'm thinking ''do i want to risk another diesel?'' living in a small village & only doing short commutes, both my zafira & vectra ended up with blocked dpf's.
But i do love my diesels, i was thinking i could buy a cheap scan bluetooth to phone thingy, im hoping such a thing will tell you when you are due a regen, ie.. a blast up the motorway. Really don't want a petrol. Would the tool give me such info?
thanks for sharing
Any time mate
Autel changes scale automatically, can be helpful and a PIA
Yes mate still getting used to it
Where are you based in Ireland. Been thru 3 mechanics for similar issue with 2009 Volvo S40. Getting desperate! Live in N. Ireland btw
Good Evening. I have the same problem. If I buy the sensor and replace it myself will it work normally or does it need to be done by a workshop?
first thing you need to do is make sure it is the centre at fault don't just replace it then you will need to program the new sensor into the car with a good scan tool
@@bodgitandleggitgarage OK thank you very much. The problem has been identified. I will go to my engineer to install it so that he can program it.
can't they make cars less complicated?
I've recently got my f30 318d dpf machine cleaned but the sign keeps coming back on, pressure sensor was changed, temperature sensor isn't going past 150 for some reason and its suppose to go to 240 in order for it to do regen... any advice?? Change temperature sensor??
Probley the vaperiser Thefoysol123
Excellent diagnosis.
Would hope the customer would be understanding with a car that's done 258k miles. Lol.
Thanks mate
Hi mate love your thought process, I have a fault with my vs sharan, I was a mechanic myself but for 18 year I have only been doing mot's, my car is constantly trying to return resulting in 23mpg instead of 45mpg, would you be able to do some consultancy ( paid of course ) or look at the car yourself. I would love to talk to you about this issue. Many thanks. Shaun
Regen not return
Great diagnosis! Great video Leon. Have a good one.
Thanks mate
i wished you was my mechanic 👍
I'm nothing special mate
thank you for that
Do you not calibrate the new sensor using the functions? Gotta love a ford dirty diesel 😆
That's going to be a separate video coming very soon
@@bodgitandleggitgarage nice one .... just checking lol
@@SYDiagnostics it's a lot easier for people to find when you separate videos you can just title it it's just easier
@@bodgitandleggitgarage nice one, I'm still learning all this and starting to aim my videos towards a different demographic, steadily building views and subs. Just put a new video out today too
13.30 wow you have 3 hands which is very handy being a mechanic 😜
hahahahaah
@@bodgitandleggitgarage Hi Leon, wonder if you could help me with this one, I have a V50 1.6d and I have an issue where the car will often hesitate on light acceleration, I unplugged the electrical connector for the egr valve and problem went away so I cleaned the egr valve but problem was still there so then I suspected bad egr valve and replaced it, still does the same, I've had the car plugged in recently for another reason and they said the dpf pressure sensor is reading 0 all the time, could this be causing my hesitation issue do you think? Sorry it's a bit long-winded 🙄
@@FatherJack-73 hi mate it's certainly a possibility you are going to have to look at the DPF pressure sensor it should not be reading 0 all the time
@@bodgitandleggitgarage cheers mate, much appreciated 👍
Excellent job
Thanks mate
hi i have got 2007 2tdi glof i have no codes but i got managment light for dpf ,can you help
Hi mate it could be as you can see from the video too many things you will have to get it diagnosed properly if you don't have the tools you'll have to go to somebody that does there is no point guessing in this as it will cost you a fortune if you are wrong you can see what I had to do to make sure I got the diagnoses correct you do not just guess
Good morning. I really need a little help before l get ripped off at Audi. I have a 2007 Audi a4 b7 2.0 tdi. And l the DPF Come up on my dashboard. Audi have told me l need to replace the DPF. @ £1100 odd plus the labour and vat. I only have a code reader. And got the code 2002. Which says DPF below criteria. Every time l clear the fault , it comes back straight away. Can you please if point me in the right direction. Any help here would be most gratefully received.
hi mate as you can imagine it's going to be impossible for me to guess and tell you what is wrong without looking and diagnosing the car properly but I would suggest you go to somebody who can do a forced regen or clean your DPF the chances that it is just blocked and can be saved is very high but it will need to be diagnosed properly before that no point me saying anything as I don't want to put you in the wrong place and cause you money and especially to waste your money but I would say it can be cleaned
Excellent !
Good set of toys you've got there 👍, Iam gonna get myself a new scan tool but only got a budget of approx £1000 any ideas would be appreciated preferably an Autel but to many cheap ones online which are obviously the Chinese ones, mixed reviews saying they are just as good cheers Kev 👍
Hi mate you've got lots of options there you can even go for a second-hand unit which would save you a lot of money as well well all depends on exactly what you need as update can be expensive for certain machines
@@bodgitandleggitgarage are you selling any 😉👍
Jeez i wish we Had GOOD HONEST Mechanics like YOU down South Wales, I have a VWW POLO 1.6TDI 2012 with just 32,000 [Genuine] Miles But because the OLDER GENT before i bought the car Just ran it at basically Idle To shops I had DPF Light come on I ran it in 3rd up n down Motorway and it Cleared [JOB DONE] Not soo fast, It happened again But this time the Glow Plug Light also came on and it went into BIDEN MODE [LIMP] i TURNED Off the Ignition /TURNED OVER ENGINE ALL lights out and out of BIDEN[LIMP]MODE But it;s come back and now it;s STUCK in Limp WTFARCK.
Hi, my name is Christopher, I own an s-type jag, I think I may have this exact problem. I was wondering though what affect does this have on the car? my car goes into restricted performance. Living in Bulgaria, this is a bad thing because I need the sudden acceleration to get away from the slow and stupid drivers here. Fun and interesting video, BOOOM!
take care.
Thanks great video- one criticism- it’s a bit wordy 😀
so what do u do when its bloked been ta ford and they 6 k ta frkk the car aint worth it
He might not have had this fault before fellas at that mileage a good idea to change anyway
My God! You mean that the system doesn’t self check itself for zero baseline. Quality science used there by the programmers. Must be modern science!
Sorted....
boom
I’m shocked You’ve never seen a Sensor fail like that. . .
I spoke to a lot of people I know when I spoke to have seen a sensor to fail in this way
Cut the old sensor open and take a look, you've nothing to lose as its going in the bin anyway.
Will do
Can you tell me where the tester came from please?
I mention in the video lots of times I also say everything to the video description it's from hubitools
DPF Sensors are the most common faults on DPF cars/vans
Yes they are but you still need to test everything because as you can see from the two parts of this video there was two problems with this car
