    Clear lecture, thank you very much. Your diagrams are very helpful also. From your lecture: DNA damage triggers DNA repair systems (MMR, BER, NER, etc) via SOS gene transcription which then triggers DNA repair mechanisim. This is repressed by the dimer operon LexA. DNA damage induces recA, which acts to deactivate LexA via autocleavage, releasing its active monomer, plus its own repressive monomer. The active LexA monomer induces transcription of the SOS genes, activating DNA repair. SOS genes OFF/LexA dimer [DNA damage ----> recA synthesis----->LexA autocatalysis] -----> SOS genes ON/LexA active monomer only -------> transcribe SOS genes ------> induce DNA repair system.

    This is all very good but how does the LexA repressors return to Olex, once the DNA repair is no longer required.
