  • This is the best car Honda will never seen you.
My Father in Law gave me the keys to his Honda S660 ALPHA! I know this is a motorcycle channel, but this is my favorite Kei Car, and possibly my favorite sports car of any category. And it’s probably the most fuel efficient sports car ever. The handling is out of this world to the point that you’d be forgiven for thinking you were in a small super car! These tiny Japanese cars do not export, so if you’ve not been to Japan and had a drive, this could be a car you’ve simply never even heard of, let alone seen. So grab a seat and come along for the ride.
Did I mention, it’s a convertible and a manual? A mid engine triple cylinder with a turbo?

Hi, I've imported one in the UK. It's an Alpha with many bells and whistles. I've other desirable cars but this is absolutely amazing. It's a toy. Actually I've had an S2000 and although the S660's top speed is much slower, I think it's as swift. At lights it amazes many as it streaks away. Mine's a CVT and engaging the sport mode switches off its idle stop as there's no button. Switching off disables the cruise everytime. An electrician told me its wiring for the dashcam I had fitted relies on the hibernation of the camera rather than a switch off. It requires frequent oil changes and the service interval isn't long at 5000 kms! It's fantastic never the less. I love it. I had a motorcycle ages ago and came off it just going slowly. I didn't get on it again and shortly after got a car licence. Good video.

@johndavid2054 being a 660, compared to motorcycles of a similar size, 5,000km is a good rage for oil changes.
Glad you love it. It's a real pleasure of a car.

4 wheels > 2! Nothing like the handling of a light sports car!

It was so much fun and felt like a technical masterpiece, but I don't think I'd pick it over a bike.

They are great fun, but they don't pass safety standards in most countries

Dude, you just made me want yet another vehicle ;-) Driving my home turf (do Venus line a few times per week in season) - if you are keen on a ride next time you are out here hit me up and let's go for a ride - this part of Japan (as I think you area aware, but just in case) has soooo many awesome twisty mountain roads. I feel like I live in an adventure park for adults ;-)

We would love to live in nagano again. But finding a job as a foreign is proving to be near impossible.
Hope to be out there sometime this summer after I get a new bike

Yeah, local jobs would be hard to come by I imagine. I work from home which makes it more flexible 👍

Im5’11”, it’s just fine. Kei cars have almost no crumple zone and the engines behind me. It’s the exact right leg room
