The fact that they went out of their way to provide a disabled person, not only a vehicle but also made it legal to drive as such is actually the most heartwarming thing I've heard from a manufacturer in a good while. All because of 1 letter!!
102: hondas are the car which wake you up the most at 3am
Damn how did i miss that
Straight piped VQs
Ah yes, Honda Civic users, my one and only designated _"Midnight snack time!"_ alarm
@@DYTASTIC 🤣😂
@@DYTASTIC the first gen honda crossroad was a rebadged land rover discovery, and it was the least reliable honda
Good on Honda for not wanting to put out fake engine sounds like some other cars
I'd rather have a funky rear exhaust setup than fake engine noise (especially a V10 noise on a twin turbo V8, BMW)
unlike bmw
... 🤔 The FL5 CTR pumps in fake engine sounds into the cabin.
Yea, like what Hyundai just did on their ioniq 5 N 🤢
@@kdotdo Not exactly, I think what they actually done is they put a microphone right next to the engine and play that sound into the cabin.
27: you said the Honda CRZ was the first manual hybrid, I hate to be that guy, but this is actually incorrect, Honda themselves made the first gen insight back in the late 90s, that car was also a hybrid and came with a 5 speed manual.
Yup. The CR-Z was the only manual hybrid on sale at it's time, and the only hybrid to have a 6-speed manual, which often gets confused by people into thinking it was the only manual hybrid ever.
Thats right and after the first gen Insight there was the Civic IMA also wirh manual transmission and also before the CR-Z
@@nfspeedy2 My sister owns one!
:(
there goes my fact
About fact 17:
Honda’s slogan “You meet the nicest people on a Honda.” Came from the idea (at the time) that bikers were bad folk, because at that time Harley-Davidson clubs like Hell’s Angels were really big and often very dangerous, so Honda marketed their bikes for “good folk”. Hence the nicest people slogan was born!
7:25 bro violated us 😭
💀
14:47 'rizzed' 😭
💀
The slang is becoming evident
first time I have heard it being used unironically, I couldn't believe my ears
Ah good ol Honda, some people say its boring, but crazy stupid reliable! Coming from an Accord, Civic and CR-V owner.
Honda has legendary motorcycles. Africa twin, transalp, trail 125
89: While the EV+ was the first production EV to use nickel instead of lead acid, modern EV batteries are usually lithium-ion. Nickel used to be cheaper and more viable before lithium technology matured, but when the Tesla Roadster became the first lithium-ion EV everyone settled on lithium for its density and lower weight

Throwback
Acura recently brought back the integra and it’s honestly an amazing bargain.
Can’t wait for the prelude’s return.
Nr 88, the Ballade AMG - My mom worked for Orbit Motors (official Mercedes, Honda and Mitsubishi dealer for South Africa at the time) when the Ballade AMG was launched. I was one of the first people to get a ride in it on launch day. They still pop up on the used market every now and then, priced quite reasonably compared to the 'standard' models.
9:10 CRZ wasn't the first manual hybrid. It was the insight
I’m so glad this comment was already here 🙌
I had a first gen Insight w/the manual tranny
You should totally do Pagani... or Chevrolet... W video btw.
Hi
I am from South Africa. I am not sure about the power figures on that AMG Ballade. Yes, in SA we called the CIVIC a Ballade until the time the Civic (2000) came out (170i VTEC and Type-R). After that version of Ballade the Civic was know as the Hatch Back and the sedan of the following model was also known as a Ballade. The 96 - 2000 Ballade was also available with that same 1800cc engine. That AMG was called a 180E. The 160i version had the D16B DOHC engine in it, the 160E had the D16A in it, and the 150 Had a D150B Carburetor capable of doing a couple billion miles (or Kilometer is SA). The 180E had a 1800cc Accord (Japanese version not US) engine in it. It made good power, but excellent torque. It was definitely NOT a failure in SA. The people who owned them LOVED them, and everybody who did not have one, wanted one. It was the most luxurious one of that version of Civic or Ballade as we knew it. It was on sale in SA till April 1996. Fantastic car. Still quite a few of them around on our roads, however ALL of them are severe milers.
Just for background, at the time (1989 - 2000) Honda was sold in SA though Daimler-Chrysler whom also owned Chrysler (Chrysler has always been seen as a "pathetic" brand is SA. (Horrible vehicles or maybe it was just the versions we got here in SA like the Neon (and Neon RT) and PT-Cruizer) and Mercedes-Bens, Mitsubishi and Honda.
Until today, Honda is know for quality, reliability and longevity.
Wow! Thanks for the information 💯
Great video but on #27 the CR-Z is not the first ever manual hybrid vehicle. The first gen insight is. The CR-Z is based off of the Honda Fit platform which came out after the insight
POG, new Dytastic video !
All of Honda’s new cars are really good looking.
I really want a 2024 Honda Civic Type R now
Yea, really love how simple their new design language is compared to cyberpunk Hyundai/Kia
I have one and its amazing. When he said they dont used pumped in engine noise he couldnt be more wrong😂. The exhaust is quieter than my vacuum and the pumped on noise sounds so bad
Shame they’re so overpriced, $40k for 315 hp just feels a little, off, base civic is great though iirc
@Yomotomen the s2000 cost the equivalent of that 24 years ago and only had 250 hp
@@nategrant784 the y2k s2000 was $42k at top trim, it started at $21k, all trims had 240 hp the civic type r sits at 315hp for $45k, also, the s2000 was lighter and rwd
i have been waiting for another 101 facts! great video
9:10 the honda insight first gen is the first manual hybrid, released in 1999
first gen insight got shooters out here
Next up: Volkswagen🙏

29: You're correct about Honda being the first brand to have a luxury counterpart known as "Acura". Unfortunately, the launch of Acura WAS NOT FROM THE YEAR 1989! Acura launched in March 1986 to be precise, because 1989 saw Toyota with Lexus, and Nissan with Infiniti. With all due respect, triple check your research before you put details in your video, thank you very much.

Great little informative, optimistic and uplifting video👍
Goated vid! How long long do you usually have to work for a single vid btw?
Around a month, finding credible stories is getting harder and harder since i want these videos to become more about the brands tales rather than useless facts
eyyyyy fact 7 - that's mine! thanks for incluing it

Great video 👍👍👍👍
Nice
Great video, will you be keen in making a video for Proton? 😊
Nice video. Lots of interesting information. However.... #39: The RL / Legend shown in the video was the previous generation which only had 210-225 hp depending on the year. And you got #42 wrong on something. The reason the 80s Prelude got the Date Car nick was because of the placement of the passenger seat reclining lever. It was placed towards the driver side, making it easy for the driver to recline back the passenger seat. Use your imagination for the rest.
BABE WAKE UP DYTASTIC DROPPED.
Awesome video as usual
I will make a video on them in the future but i cant promise any love

26:05 #88 Was definitely one of the more interesting unknown facts lol
Love the video format, pls make a 101 about Hyundai! 😍
I know many things about Honda but not everything. Thanks a lot for the information. Very good video
#23 Not only was the Prelude the first car to feature 4-wheel steering, Honda did it while making the system purely mechanical. Others were trying, but they were planning to use electronic systems.
My Honda FR-V wiper comes when my wipers are on and I reverse.
It is probably Honda's only 6 seater, 3 in the front, 3 in the rear..
On older Honda's if you see paint on a bolt, it is because it was torqued to a specific torque.
Great video! If I recall, Honda created the company by picking up discarded fuel tanks from US bombers, which he used to create the Cub. I always loved that Honda is an engineering company that happens to make cars. I remember at 17 needing to buy my first car. My parents wanted me to buy a new car. I almost got an Integra, but didn't trust the "new" company. lol I later bought a Saturn Vue only because it had a Honda V6 engine. Oh, and I originally bashed the Ridgeline as a wannabe Odessey when I had a Chevy Avalanche. Now, I see many trucks which have copied the Odessey.
26:06, The honda is called the EG9, its a phdm car, its rare to find but its easy to import, it uses a stock steeringwheel, drum brakes ( i think or its the concept that has it,) all tho its a sedan type eg, for the power, the eg8 makes 80-90 and the eg9 makes 150-180.
9:27
Getting some real gran turismo ptsd here
pleasee do pagani nextt, btw loved the video
I'm from South Africa
The eg ballade AMG used a tuned D16 making around 100kw
amazing
Got a new slogan idea - "Honda: The reason you wake up at 3 AM." And I love my Honda. It mows my lawn real good.
And my '97 Prelude Type SH is also a lot of fun. Honda hasn't been the same since the Great Recession.
Congrats... This vid alone has managed to make me a big, BIG fan of Honda
I never knew Honda was this wholesome and cool, I only knew it for it's sport cars forst but there is so many cool and interesting facts about hondas too.
Happy to see one fact about the Honda Fit, though disappointed they didn't mention the 4th Gen not coming to the US even though its fans CLEARLY want it back.
9:09 The Insight launched with a manual transmission as the only option in 1999. Seven months before the Prius hit the US market.
He's back with another banger
#45: Recently, the museum was moved to the headquarter on Van Ness and Torrance Blvd in Torrance.
My biggest takeaway from this video is that Soichiro Honda was a gigachad
14:47 Damn Honda Got Rizz
What was said: ''Honda Asked Nicely Enough that it Rizzed up Toyota into Handing It Over''
that new prelude lookin fine and porche-like at the back
Can you guys do a 101 facts for motorcycles too like Yamaha , Honda etc

MAZDAAAAA next pls
Bro, Honda S500 seems a fun car to commute in locally, like going to grocery store or just driving around your city with engine probably always close to redline while going only 50mph.
Honda is probably the only type of brand i know that fixes problems with their cars.
Poggers!
Checklist:
- I work at a Honda Workshop
- I drive a Honda
- It's a Civic
- It's Modified
- I have Acne
Best video in this series so far no bias whatsoever :)
(little thing to Nr.79: Nearly all Hondas since the late 90s/early 00s do that)
9:10 is it just me or is the first generation Honda Insight is actually the first hybrid car with a manual transmission?
correct, video is wrong.
YES FINALLY
101 facts about nissan would be great too
I have another fact, too get the cool bed feature from the SMX on a cry take away the head rest and tilt the seat all the way down and there you have it a crib bed
3:53 greatest comeback of all time fr
Mcchizzle is still at it today by the way. If you look at the edit history of the Ridgeline's wiki page you can see he still makes edits to the page.
I think my favorite Honda factoid is the S2000's combination meter was modeled after Honda F1 cars.
14:52 That museum has since unfortunately closed and most of the cars that were on display have since moved to Honda of America HQ which is also in Torrence.
18:31 Only the Type R's had hand polished heads and I think the later Integra Type R heads were machine polished instead of hand.
Only 2 things make me mad at Honda and it's just Honda Canada, bikes available in the US, not being brought in to Canada, and lack of much Honda labelled motorcycle clothing. Always been a Honda motor sports owner, currently have 4 in the garage, but really want a new Fury to replace my VTX, but H.C says nope.
And to the dismay of Milwaukee fanbois, my last 3 2 wheelers were made in the USA
101 facts about corvette! Pls
the honda ballade was a popular car in japan and then a decade later in 1990s right after the 80s it was sold between 91 and 99 then was discontinued in japan then brought back to life in japan in 2016 then brought to the chinese market and now has been in production since
#10 - Honda did not start out as a motorcycle manufacturer. They started making engine components for Toyota and Suzuki. Then transitioned to disassembling American made generators to attach the engines to British made bicycles - they didn't invent the moped, but they did make a lot of them.
Also, while CVCC did work on the 5.7L Impala engine, it still produced more emissions than the set of solutions that GM made. GM may have been unnecessarily dismissive, but they did back up their mockery with a superior design.

Suichiro Honda is such a menace
7:23 AYY LMAO
I've owned 3 hondas. The first was a 2005/6 (can't remember which year) Accord Hybrid. It torque steered like a beast if you floored it.
Best thumbnail on TH-cam.

The first manual hybrid was the first gen Honda insight
The gentleman's agreement limited HP output to 276 HP but that was only on paper. The domestic Japanese cars had 180km/h speedos as an effort to deter people from speeding and it was also due to the fact that police cars were not tuned.
17:41 / 56 :
1 : that's "VTEC" not "v-tech"
2 : it was called "REV"

16:21 the ridgeline article was downsized because wikipedia deemed it to specific and nuanced, and they still have that banner to encourage editors to downsize it even more.
103: one of the rarest hondas was the 2013-2015 honda accord phev, nobody never knew it existed and only 1,039 were made and only sold in CA and NY
3:41-4:23 that's funny
