Thank you Alan Rickman for everything you've left behind for us to enjoy and learn from. You, your personality, talents, knowledge, and everything will be truly, greatly missed by many, but will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace and Paradise Alan Rickman.
his wisdom and intelligence actually made me cry when i first saw this bit of the interview. i’m never gonna forget that moment when I literally started crying over someone’s brilliance. such an odd reaction. but i still treasure these words of his to this day. i miss him very much.
He almost says it. Forget acting, develop yourself. This works in all of life. I'm not an actor, and I'm not classically educated. I'm a rzult of 'merican publick skool. But it's interest in the world, and interest in the highest performing members of different crafts that has informed and enriched my life. Curiosity, in part and appreciation in another. That's what brought me here, to a master who just said to do what it is that I do.
I am a young actress and i keep acting in theathre for him. This is my second year of acting and always when i think that didn't go so well. I think of Alan Rickman and remind myself that he could've not been perfect on his second year either. He is my rolemodel and one day.. i hope to be famous like him..
I'm not using his advice so much as he is describing what I've naturally been able to do. It's like I've too much empathy towards the characters, taking into consideration 'like instances' in my life. I can feel any emotion that they might have and go through, I can put myself into a trance, if I feel it's what the actual character is going though. Yet I still keep in the actions of the script, the direction, hitting my marks and all of that. I do not understand why other people cannot do the same thing, figuratively, anyway. I'm a horrible accountant at the house. My wife is more a natural at that. Meaning I know I'm lucky to have some genetic wiring to act. um,... Anyway, how have I gotten with it all. Just progressing through the business, have an agent finally, find new scripts easier, very relaxed at auditions, ... I can rely on my talent and hard work preparing now. I don't have worry, just have fun with it.
*What a brilliant assessment and analysis conveyed in simple words* Such a remarkable brain. Wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that he had an IQ/EQ of 250.
I remember watching Alan play Snape back in 2002 and thinking that he'd look old and ugly in 10 years and being very glad that he is still pretty handsome a decade later.
Some of my favourite acting advice. This man is a legend.
I wish he were still around.
I think he has such an ability to convey intelligence on every speech.

True stuff....read! Educate yourself in ALL aspects , even stuff you're not that interested in... Explore! READ!....(did I say that already?)
EXCELLENT ADVICE..NOTHING CAN BE BETTER...HOPE YOUNG ACTORS CAN UNDERSTAND IT....
He was such a talent who performed comedy and drama with equal, wonderful skill.
R.I.P., Mr. Rickman...
Such an inspiration, extraordinary man❤️RIP😇
One of the GREATEST. EVER.
This is advice for life - in general - as we attain mastery in whatever skill, these words ring true.
Smart and wise. It's as interesting to listen to him discuss acting as it is to watch him act.
I miss Alan Rickman ❤
2018 love him R.I.P

Thank you. I do what he is suggesting, though I'm new to acting, I get it. It is a natural place I can go.
I'm new at acting too and I was just wondering how have you gotten on with using his advice so far?

@@davidaustinveal9277 I'm glad you found something you have fun with to do, that is what everybody should do.

Who's here after his journal was released recently, learning only now he didn't think the child actors in Harry Potter were any good at all
Rest in peace.

I don’t like the term young actors. People start acting careers at any age
