His subharmonic at the end is just so fu... I mean, so freaking good, gosh... I wanted his voice, but sadly I just dream of knowing how a sub like that.
Watch Thou Yang's (Bass2Yang) tutorials on subharmonics singing. The auxiliary exercises will give you the basic coordination you need to find your subharmonic register (after months of practice). Then you can move on to TomiP's exercises to solidify those subs. Personally, it took me about 2 years to reach a satisfying level. Geoff has been doing this for more than 10 years and he's a true bass so it's normal that it sounds so easy to him
This song - or specifically this arrangement of this song - is such a bop, and so ear-wormy that I find myself humming bits of it randomly throughout the day. I'll be shocked if this video doesn't turn out to be a big hit for Geoff.
Jim Croce was one of the few singers my parents could agree upon. My dad loves this song and "Bad Bad Leroy Brown." My mom loved "Time in a Bottle." We need Geoff at the piano, gazing off-camera as he sings that song to Kathy. I would cry in happiness!
You need this signed to go with your 16 Tons pic. Gotta love it when he can blow you away musically and then double whammy you with the way he looks on those shirts. Man’s got guns and I think they keep getting bigger. *sigh
SUCH a fun reaction, and I think it was all the better for you not having heard the original! I love the original, but this has quite a different flavor, and I may actually like it better--that arrangement is fantastic! (Plus, yes, the excellent gun show. SIR.)
😍 What's that? There's music and singing in this video? Oh! You're right...somehow I missed it, it's amazing. I must have been...um...distracted by some random thing. Or five. 💖💜💙
Can you imagine, Bad Bad Leroy Brown, and then Geoff at the piano singing "Time in a Bottle" while gazing warmly at Kathy off screen. Oh, my heart!!! The Jim Croce trilogy we need.
Looking back at this, this is one of the cleanest E1s I’ve heard in a while. Try as I might I will not be able to recreate that whether it be the note itself or the clarity
My prediction is her starting to glow because the sub harmonic frequencies activate her DNA and cause her to ascend to light being status. Even if the camera doesn't show it.
Five Geoffs! OMG! I love his deep voice. Please react to David Phelps singing The End of the Beginning. He's the best tenor around. Love your reactions to Geoff.❤
I’ve always loved the storytelling in this song by Jim Croce. Big Jim stole from Slim who tracked him down. Slim fought Jim, killed him in a knife fight, and the song ends with “You don’t mess around with Slim”-the new king in town.
And compare this one to the one at the end of "Oogie Boogie" - he just keeps getting better tone! That one was so surprising. This one is outright GORGEOUS!
Reminds you of "16 Tons"? Yeah - after all the miners went to the Dark Side! But it does have a similar feel with the claps and stomps instead of snaps and tools. But mostly it's that bit of swing. I challenge anyone to listen to this and not move to that groove.
Kaz, do you need some milk? Don’t worry me too. Apparently he held that long for 9 seconds. Haha I reacted about the same you did and it was this song that led me to join his patreon page lol.
Im pretty sure the supersonic boom at 5:02 was a chest E1, the lowest note he's ever done without applying a vocal technique to make his voice sound lower.
“Well I’m actually not OK” LMAO I knew this one was going to get you! It’s such a fun song to begin with and he did so much with it, and yeah - I too am here for five muscly tank top wearing Geoffs on a screen at once!
I love watching your reactions. Even though I am going through a pretty tough time right now, I can always count on your reactions to bring a smile to my face. Thank you for all that you do.
Kaz, if you haven't yet, you need to react to Colm McGuiness' version of "Durin's Song"! It's a bass singer collab and it's ridiculous. I know you'd love it!
...my god, I haven't been rattled by a Geoffquake like that in a while! This man constantly manages to exceed his best, and scare the everliving heebie-jeebies out of us each and every time. All that can be said is: Well done, sir. Again.
Kaz, are you familiar with the song "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" by Jim Croce? (th-cam.com/video/JzYf6qskdfA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=aY8329NX_IXK5oBW) Thematically, it's VERY similar to this song, and musically, it's pretty similar as well. Would love to hear Geoff cover that one as well. How about you?
Kaz: "I don't know who Jim is, but dont mess with him. Geoff said so." Me, having watch the video's premiere and listened to the song so many more times since: [grabs popcorn] I think the one person who we can all say for sure you shouldn't mess with is Geoff himself.
This the Geoff Castellucci deep notes, clap/stomp/rockin gun's show. ❤❤
Fact check. That camera shake shortly after @5:30 was not a visual after effect. The entire room actually shook when Geoff hit that bass note.
Since I’ll miss the premiere, here are my predictions: first scream at 0.52 seconds, twelve pauses, and seven pens thrown.
I mean you weren't far off on the pauses, just forgot to mention her getting up once on a bass note
His subharmonic at the end is just so fu... I mean, so freaking good, gosh... I wanted his voice, but sadly I just dream of knowing how a sub like that.

I approve every pause! "Geoff said so." 😂😂❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥

I liked this song when Jim Croce sang it in 1972, but I love Geoff’s cover. And I knew it would be fun watching you react to it.
😍 What's that? There's music and singing in this video? Oh! You're right...somehow I missed it, it's amazing. I must have been...um...distracted by some random thing. Or five. 💖💜💙
I've been waiting for one of my favorite a cappella groups to do some Jim Croce. Close enough. Woot. Waiting for Bad, Bad Leroy Brown now.
Can you imagine, Bad Bad Leroy Brown, and then Geoff at the piano singing "Time in a Bottle" while gazing warmly at Kathy off screen. Oh, my heart!!! The Jim Croce trilogy we need.
Geoff is always special but this is extra special. Such a bop
love multiple Geoffs! ❤
As Emma said get your pens ready and have some milk near by, Geoff is taking us all on a ride 🤣
I have literally had the song on repeat since it was premiered and it somehow gets better every time! Also loved your reaction Kaz
I believe it’s a G1 then he goes to an E1 right at the very end. We love our 3rds
Yeah a G1 chest then E1 subharmonic (his best subharmonic in my opinion ngl)
Looking back at this, this is one of the cleanest E1s I’ve heard in a while. Try as I might I will not be able to recreate that whether it be the note itself or the clarity
My prediction is her on the ground and screaming and pens and also sixteen ton vibes
My prediction is her starting to glow because the sub harmonic frequencies activate her DNA and cause her to ascend to light being status. Even if the camera doesn't show it.
I approve of every single pause...in fact I could have done with more. LOL
Five Geoffs! OMG! I love his deep voice. Please react to David Phelps singing The End of the Beginning. He's the best tenor around. Love your reactions to Geoff.❤
Yup, you got boomed! We live for this so it's all good.
Hello Kaz, I have just watched your reaction to Geoff’s Don’t Mess Around ,With Jim .Brilliant as always.
hi kaz,,,,,1st reaction of the night,,,,you.re as adorable as Geoff :)
I’ve always loved the storytelling in this song by Jim Croce. Big Jim stole from Slim who tracked him down. Slim fought Jim, killed him in a knife fight, and the song ends with “You don’t mess around with Slim”-the new king in town.
The end low note is a E1 subharmonic
Can confirm it is indeed an E1 holy moly
@DCLEGEND69 yes because It's lower than my Subharmonic Note
And compare this one to the one at the end of "Oogie Boogie" - he just keeps getting better tone! That one was so surprising. This one is outright GORGEOUS!
Yeah I can hit a F1 Subharmonic
Reminds you of "16 Tons"? Yeah - after all the miners went to the Dark Side! But it does have a similar feel with the claps and stomps instead of snaps and tools. But mostly it's that bit of swing. I challenge anyone to listen to this and not move to that groove.
Kaz, do you need some milk? Don’t worry me too. Apparently he held that long for 9 seconds. Haha I reacted about the same you did and it was this song that led me to join his patreon page lol.
This song was sung by Jim Croce
Let me introduce you to a new word '.. the Geoff-swag' .. Castelucci style!😎
Im pretty sure the supersonic boom at 5:02 was a chest E1, the lowest note he's ever done without applying a vocal technique to make his voice sound lower.
*that would mean the supersonic boom is actually lower than the low note around 6 minutes
There was a E1 chest at 4:33 too
@@FKYOUHACKER I think that was a vocal technique called growl, which honestly is harder to pull off than E1 chest, and just as impressive.
@@FKYOUHACKER*listens twice to make sure* nvm
“Well I’m actually not OK” LMAO
I knew this one was going to get you! It’s such a fun song to begin with and he did so much with it, and yeah - I too am here for five muscly tank top wearing Geoffs on a screen at once!
I'm digging the guitar and bass in the background.
Geoff is a Bad Man!!!
Get all your pens ready.
I love watching your reactions. Even though I am going through a pretty tough time right now, I can always count on your reactions to bring a smile to my face. Thank you for all that you do.
I'm so sorry you're going through a hard time!!
Kaz, if you haven't yet, you need to react to Colm McGuiness' version of "Durin's Song"! It's a bass singer collab and it's ridiculous. I know you'd love it!
I would recommend an old one from voice play. “A crimpella” it is very old and not a lot of people know about it.
❤❤❤❤❤
...my god, I haven't been rattled by a Geoffquake like that in a while! This man constantly manages to exceed his best, and scare the everliving heebie-jeebies out of us each and every time.
All that can be said is: Well done, sir. Again.
Pause before five seconds in. Freakout at first bass note.
You know, typical Kaz reaction.
EDIT: Well, I was so very close.
Any song would be cool... but yes Leroy Brown would be awesome.
Thanks!
❤️❤️
Definitely need to react to Epic - The Musical. One of us, one of us! (Mortius, Casper and Peter are all getting into it)
Good work!
Kaz, We love this version that Geoff has blessed us with!!! Now you might want to go listen to Jim Croce's original version!!!
Kaz: "I don't know who Jim is, but dont mess with him. Geoff said so."
Me, having watch the video's premiere and listened to the song so many more times since: [grabs popcorn]
I think the one person who we can all say for sure you shouldn't mess with is Geoff himself.
You should react to black hole sun by voiceplay, geoff goes ham tmwith the bass fx
I already have! 😁😁 it's up on my channel!
@@KazandraBrock Hoist the colors bass cover by The Bass Singers of Tiktok?
@@KazandraBrock come little children by ebucs?
