So.... To explain, this is a poem written by J. R. R. Tolkien and is sung by Gimli in second book of The Fellowship Of The Ring. Not heard in the movies. It describes how Durin the first of the few original dwarves created by Aule (one of the Valar) woke up and named the area around him before becoming forefather of most dwarves and first King. Therefore is fitting that Geoff dressed as Gimli and sings it in Balin's tomb in Moria and the ghosts of 4 of the dwarves who had went with Bilbo in the adventure in The Hobbit appear and sing it with him.
I See Fire was so good, I didn't expect to find this one even better. Oh, and Voiceplay drops Be Prepared on Friday.
Man, knowing the lore and seeing the different dead dwarven men with Gimli, in Balin's Tomb, good enough to make a grown man cry. :)
He had grumpy 60 year old me literally in tears at 9:59 😢, no easy feat.
The man clones himself to 5 dwarfes, because he has talent enough for 5 ordinary people like me 🤪
This was amazing - did you forget you've seen 4 of these characters before in 'Over Misty Mountains Cold' and 'I see Fire'...? 😉 From the description: "Song of Durin" appeared in The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, but it was only a poem when Tolkien wrote it. The music for this song was inspired by Clamavi De Profudis' melodic interpretation of Tolkien's poem. Look them up!

LOVE seeing you three together, triple the joy. Happy Spooktober, and what a perfect way to start it. I agree, this arrangement is one of Geoff's best solo pieces. It's haunting, the harmonies are a masterclass, and it almost makes you wanna dance in your chair or at least rock along to the beat, and then ALL THE CHILLS. Kathy outdid herself with the makeup. They are such a power couple.
