    What I love about this move is that it creates more oppurtunities for a player whos not good with his off hand. If you master this move and keep working on your off hand its unstoppable !

    Coach - you are teaching travelling. When you lift a foot to do the drop step - the other foot is your pivot foot. You can pick it up but you have to pass or shoot before it touches the floor. The shot has to be taken off one foot.

      Yeah, these guys demonstrating are moving both feet before dribbling. That will get called.

    • @Knightgamer13
      @Knightgamer13 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t think it will get called because you are only taking to steps

      Can't you dribble though?

    • @CoachNick

      i think as long as the ball leaves their hands before they move their feet they are ok--at least i'm pretty sure this is how it works in the NBA--so. . .you pretty much can move your feet quickly as long as you're releasing the ball at the same time. there are a few travels in this video, but if done quick enough, i doubt they get called, unless you're playing outside the states lol

    If you catch on 1 foot, you can dribble to unlock the pivot foot, the perform your drop step on the gather

    a more effective drop step would be to post towards the baseline and drop step in the opposite direction or vise versa, a drop step like your showing here is alot more difficult

      Jump towards the goal as you shoot. Hit him in the chest either on the dribble or on the way up to knock the shot blocker off balance. Do this without lowering your shoulder.

      no, not really

    • @bufftankington7349
      @bufftankington7349 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, the important things in a drop-step are:
      1 Seal the defender with your inital step, meaning, get him on your back
      2 Use the hand farthest from the defender
      3. Go to the basket when jumping, don't jump straight up. This means you should in my opinion post-up a little higher than the block, this gives you both middle and baseline

    • @bufftankington7349
      @bufftankington7349 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And I forgot: Stay low so you can explode and move quickly.
      I think that's it :D

    This is called an inverted drop. The process of a drop step is right after a dribble or move, you do a pocket dribble + inside foot lands then outside foot lands. That’s the drop step

    Guys. improve your basketball skills does not need to be hard (I used to feel it did). I'm going to give you some tips now. Get a training program called Spovelax Training Program (just search it on google). Thanks to it I have earn the respect and admiration of my friends and other players. I shouldn't even be speaking about it cause I do not really want lots of other guys out there running the same game but whatever. I'm just simply in a great mood today and so I will share the wealth haha.

      That's what I Thought when I saw it, but I guess many plays are travels in slow motion but hard to tell during game/normal speed. At the end though I think he is moving both his pivots and dragging but that is a nanosecond before he actually catches it, so maybe not.
