There was never a rivalry between Woods and Daly and their kids have never even played against each other in competition. I don't consider a Father-Son tournament as competition.
I didn't even realize they had a rivalry after that tournament. Cannot WAIT to see that going forward. They both have absolutely gorgeous swings and mirror their legendary dads so much. I love it. Exciting for the future of professional golf.
i can see how people think that this is a stretch, but honestly charlie and lil johns age gap is smaller than their fathers. i think he shoudlve gone with a title like "could this be the next big rivalry in golf?" or something like that
Charlie winning a state championship in high school and his father never doing so is misleading because Charlie’s format at high school was TEAM competition where most events at pro level are INDIVIDUAL. Likely Charlie carried by other teammates while Tiger’s high school teams didn’t have same balance of talent. Also when John Daly Jr and Charlie competed it wasn’t INDIVIDUAL as they both had fathers as backups in a team format. If want to compare have these two kids compete as individuals without their dads in some traditional stroke play event, then let’s talk. Obviously John Jr would have huge advantage being 5 years older. As older adults obvious youth an advantage but at their stage of life today, one 15 the other 20, it’s not fair to yet compare and ridiculous to discus rivalry.
Charlie Woods has come off as one of those exceptional profiles within the sport who makes it interesting to watch despite an over-all lack of interest
There was never a rivalry on the PGA tour between Tiger Woods and John Daly. Tiger Woods was head and shoulders better than Daly or anyone playing at that time. You can make a case for their kids. Daly was a good golfer. But you could never compare him to Tiger Woods! NEVER!
