  • Day 1 of our 5 Day Anniversary Workout Challenge focuses on balance! The exercises will strengthen muscles that help improve your balance, including your core and legs. Good balance can help prevent falls, the number one cause of injuries among seniors. This workout is perfect for seniors and beginners.
    Here are the exercises:
    ✅ Heel-toe balance
    ✅ Single leg balance with arm to the front, side and back
    ✅ Single leg balance with side leg lift
    ✅ Single leg balance with one arm up

    I had a stroke from an existing heart condition and it affected my balance the most. Thank for this and the safety for me to be able to do these.

    I had not found your site when your earlier videos came out. I'm so glad that I found this one in my search for a short balance routine. I practice balance using various methods every other or 3rd day. These moves are completely foreign, and don't you know I surprised my brain by working harder to accomplish them. I've noticed that some days my efforts are perfect, and others I'm a bit "off kilter," which is fine. My goal is to keep those balancing muscles in shape and now, with these new approaches, keep those balance muscles newly "informed!" Great routine and worth perfecting! Thank you both!...Anastasia

      For sure. I'll be working this "new" routine for some time. Oh, I LOVE Poirot. I've programmed this series, and am sorry to say, most are now ones I've seen. I believe I still have a few unseen ones to watch. Miss Marple is another one I watch. In fact, I'm a PBS/BBC fan and have programmed a slew of them! I contribute to PBS and NPR, too.     Having spent 9mths in hospital in my late teenage years with TB meningitis I’ve always had a balance problem which has slightly improved but will never be totally right . This one is an exceptionally long work in progress.!

    I enjoyed doing day 1 of this challenge and balance was an excellent choice to begin with. We must have balance in our exercises that we do, but we must have balance in our everyday lives as well.

    Ooof! This was much harder than I'd thought! Even before the surgery I had balance problems, but now that my ab muscles aren't where they were two weeks ago, I can really feel a difference.       It’s ok to take a few days off if your body is in discomfort! it’s telling you to take a break. Rest it and when you feel better join us but do so at a slower pace. Slow is good and just as beneficial! Hope you feel better soon! ❤️

    i was able to do the ex sitting down, but my goal is to be able to stand up and hold onto the chair and then let go, but if you were to grade me on my balance i would get an F. thanks it was a good workout; where do i put the secret word?

    Looking around the room while doing the first balance with one foot in front of the other throws me off balance.

      You might try mastering the one foot in front of the other first then move up to looking around or moving your arms, etc. But its good that you are testing yourself too! Good job! Keep moving with us!!

    SUNDAY, rest day but first start off with a new challenge with Anniversary Workout Challenge Day 1 balance, followed with Mom's 1mile walking workout. DONE!!
