Exactly! Ken fancies himself the best singer in the world. The dude says elton john, paul McCartney, Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson and many legendary vocalists are not good singers... ...but then throws a ken tantrum when people catch him faking/dodging notes and flat out lip-synching. Also, his own tone is strained and sub-par. The narcissism and delusion is off the charts.
Yes Matt, I absolutely agree with everything you said. It says a lot about someone when they put down others. It's a sign of insecurity and substantial deficits. I actually love sharing my process when I practice very challenging pieces so everyone can see how I fail and then work through that.
It’s certainly ironic that KT’s whole selling point is that his course would let you develop incredible upper range and power that could last a lifetime, but yet we find out KT lip synced the high parts when performing live. And he even mimes guitar in some of his videos.
I watched an Aussie Guitar guys page he had a vocal coach on and she was great explaining things I think shes Lena the Red. She said she watched numerous vids of Kens and he had went on about his vast historical musical study said something about 16th century vocalists etc. She said she swore she had heard the very same commentary before and she finally remembered. It was the crib notes at the bottom of page 22 in "Singing for Dummies". She even held up the book she had it. She said Kens lesson almost quoted it verbatim. My question is what if ALL of Kens teachings are from that book pawning them off as his knowledge. Ive only seen a few of his vids and wouldn't be shocked if his Vocal Academy comes from Singing for Dummies.
I love your observation about our ears becoming accustomed to "perfect" singing or performance due to computer correction...aka auto tune...I have students that don't feel like they are any good because they don't sound like the recording...:/
To me it looks like KenT believes his own BS. Now that we have a much closer look (the lip-sync, and very bad guitar-sync pretendings) more and more comes out. There is a video about how he agains EXACTLY 10k subscribers every month. Sure. These are not bought at all 🙃. And of the currently 1,23 MILLION subscribers, about 1% watches his videos (11k - 17k average range when I had a quick look). So... believe what you want. Televangelists are a business model, so why not that, too.
My highest note is between D5 and F5 but I want to widen it more than that, can you explain on how to do that. And I don't know if I am a Baritone or not
@@Hernymiyday One widens a range, not a top note 😉. But in any case that's something I'd like to achieve as well. I suspect it has to do with practicing what you can do regularly and occassion trying to see if you can go up a few cents more. I understand keeping your larynx low, and lifting the small palate, helps. Also check videos on laryngeal tilt as I get the impression that helps. I suspect it's more for classical, but what you learn in one area may be applicable elsewhere. Meanwhile you seem to have a lot of questions. Maybe start with the easier stuff and check other practices when you have a good basic standard under your belt ?
Try to note what you did when accidently hitting the note, and then reproduce the muscle positions etc. at the time. There are plenty of advice videos out there to try to ease you into it. But if you think you have it but it's causing discomfort, then you won't be doing it right. Take a long break then go check the instructions again.
Sir, I am not quite consistent about my vocal lessons, but the reason been that , I don't know where to start, coz when I search on TH-cam it brings so many I didn't even even know which one to choose from
After reading all your comments it sounds like you should get an IRL vocal coach. Having a coach that guides you through the fundamentals is invaluable.
You need not pick just one TH-cam channel. Many teachers will advise similarly and you may find different ones explain things more clearly to you on a particular subject, and another time a different one may be clearer. Where there is a difference of opinion try both suggestions, see what works for you. And keep experimenting in order to understand your unique vocal set-up. Personally I have subscribed to more music channels than I dare go back and count, although a small number are watched more often than others. Obviously if you start thinking of investing in a course, maybe best chose just one, so wait until you feel confident in deciding who.
Coz, probably by next year I wanna try auditioning for one of the kpop companies, for vocals and maybe dance too. I'm sorry if it's off topic, but, I am kinda scared coz I'm from Africa and I'm kinda just a bit tan . I'm afraid I won't get accepted. But I will try anyways.
Jimmy Fallon made fun of Ken in some random videos from You Tube section of tak show, Ken edited changed laugh for applause and like put as his video how Jimmy recommend him 😂
They are nothing like each other. Presumably you have heard of the two main registers. Chest and Head. Mix, or mixed voice is when you sing a note using both at once. Having learnt that you no longer get that voice crack as you go up and down in pitch through your passaggio. Falsetto, on the other hand is a particular form of voice, usually head voice, where you don't close the vocal cords tightly and consequently it sounds very breathy.
