If only D1001 had been preserved sadly a collision where she sustained under frame damage put paid to that in 1976. One more journey awaited to Swindon Works cut up August 1977, I believe it’s two cabs made into 1979.
Hello Keith, just wanted to say how much my wife and I enjoy your videos. One thing we are confused about is when did the trackplan change take place, and when did the single tunnel mouth replace the double tunnel. Parstiche was still double track. We are sure you must have documented the changes in the track plan during one of the vlogs but for the life of us we cannot find it! Can you "point" us in the right direction please?
Hi Stephen, I am extremely pleased you and your wife enjoy my videos and it is great getting comments such as yours. I think you may well be the first to ask the question but the track plan is still the same as it ever was...i.e. double track. To change it for Midderst I simply made a temporary infill piece to cover up one half of the tunnel mouth and put a buffer stop at the end of what then became a headshunt. It has made operation a little more difficult and as the infill was temporary it has now been removed and the next incarnation will be back to the original double track layout, Regards Keith.
Atmospheric as normal. Loving the red diesels
Thanks David, yes the red diesels do look nice don't they, Regards Keith
Another fantastic film Keith, please do more 🙂
Thanks Adrian, I am resting Midderst for a while but there will be other videos, Regards Keith
enjoyed another gala day video, super work KV, please keep them coming 👍
Cheers Max, more coming soon but not of Midderst for a while anyway, Keith
Relaxing and enjoyable, thank you.
Glad you liked it, Regards Keith
Really enjoyed the video, your commentary certainly sets the scene, keep it up. Cheers Phil.
Thanks Phil, glad you liked it, Regards Keith
Lovely to watch.
Thanks Andrew, glad you enjoyed it, Regards Keith
Funny, at 5:04, the motor noise sounds like a 42 idling
It does a bit doesn't it. Most folks don't like the sound Lima diesels make but I think they sound good, Regards Keith

Indeed, mind you we still have two others to see and ride behind, Regards Keith
