This week, I decided to revisit and make some additions to my desert train set. I gave the train a new coat of paint, added a mining camp, and filled the town with tiny people.

I just had an idea for another train layout: have a dual train heist with two trains travelling next to each other (or a train and one of those hand cranked carts), where the trains move on two separate tracks but are timed to travel next to each other for a section of the tracks, with little cowboys shooting at each other :)

I didn’t notice it the first time but I really like that you put the church on that pillar that looks a little too small for the building and the townspeople have to walk across those narrow boards to get to it. Nobody in their right mind would have built a church in a place like that in real life, but it kind of implies a faith that these people deliberately built their church in such a perilous place. I think it would be great to see all of your Wild Imaginary West build combined together to show the scale of your project so far. For example, you could lay all the town buildings out together to form the centre of the universe, off in the distance you could have this canyon (the distance being the reason the scale is smaller relative to the other dioramas), alongside the town could be the river where the ferry boats are sailing over the huge monsters, and on the far side of the river could be the wilderness builds. Maybe a video idea for the new year perhaps? (Just be careful if you do decide to try this and lay them all out together please don't break any).

If you have a problem with the train always stopping at certain spots, you need to clean the tracks. You can do this by using one of those old school erasers that have a tiny bit of grit in them. This will remove the oxidation from the track, and your train will run good again. You can also use steel wool to lean off the oxidation but the steel wool will likely leave a mess behind that you 2ill definitely want to vacuum off as it can really play havoc with the electrical parts of the engine. There are also dedicated cleaners sold in most train hobby stores. But those blue abrasive erasers that were meant for removing ink, Are the best for cleaning the tracks. Sometimes you also need to clean the wheels of the engine as well but just keep in mind that the blue erasers also leave grit behind so a vacuum is always best to keep it under control. I love this diorama and I'm glad you kept it and are updating it! Keep up the fantastic work!

This thing is INCREDIBLE! And yes I think we would all LOVE another train build, but maybe one with a different aesthetic, possibly including water features or just through a different more wooded/mountainous terrain.

If, I could have ever achieved these results with my model railroading I'd still be doing it. Amazing outcome.
