Just finished the the game (the story at least) You're pretty much got it all perfectly. Game's much faster and easier, outfits are kinda disappointing (bought smth at the start and never changed it, because there was nothing better), graphics are better, but animation is a bit weird Some critique from me. For me the visual style they chose isn't perfect and camera and controls felt crazy weird at the start. Camera still feels really weird. Female NPC outfits... I understand Lulu's and Claire's, but Hilda's is just stupid and Phym's just not for a child. Why is Soma now Ein? Opening could be a bit better (Resurrection's is amazing!) Some things I loved. The plot and the characters (the ending almost made me cry (the only game that managed to come that close before is The Walking Dead Episode 1)). They call me The Devil of The Chrysanthemum. Less partners and the way their skills work now. The game is really fast paced and I didn't need to farm Ouroboros 138 times just because my weapon is too weak and it requires an extremely rare material for upgrading PS: Phym is the best and I'll fight everyone who disagrees 😈😠😈
Honestly, after finishing the entirety of game's story, I really felt more drawn closer to the Hounds than I felt close with everyone in the Far East during the previous installments. Yeah, GE3 has it's flaws, but something about the characters being so emotionally tied together like a literal family was the ridiculous motivation that got me finishing the whole game. GE2 was my least favorite of the series, so I really couldn't care much for the Blood Unit's fate along with the other characters. The only characters I thought about by the time I learned more about the Ashland were Cradle, Licca and Sakaki (which holy crap, he's probably in his late 50s or early 60s by the events of the third game)
I think replacing Shift was... a mistake. Not the biggest fan of the new developer. The story was... fine... nah the Dlc was only engaging part. The really hurt bullet customization. I hope they go back to shift. Or whoever made code vein
Not really replaced, they're just filling in for Shift who was doing Code Vein at the time. Plus the gameplay is really good tbh and the new weapons are cool as hell; the only real downside of 3 is no ticket system for materials and the character creator is really meh compared to previous games and especially compared to Code Vein.
I have a question. are we able to change element of a melee weapon on the spot if we're fighting two monsters with different element weaknesses? thanks!
So at the point of around 12:30. U said that the reason people hated ages was because they died to become ash storms and such, and that the crimson queen had ages die to make the ashstorms. I remember the reason people didnt like them be something like they were more related to aragami due to the larger dose and such. The crimson queen attacked some of the old ports that wronged them which is why the ports didnt like em, But they didnt start doing the ash storm sacrifice til later. And i remember they only did it to save the other ages. Not just to attack the ports. I dont think werner aimed for the ages to just off themselves like that. That was more of a last resort thing from what i remember.
@DatLJGuy sorry for bugging you over a year after this, but YT finally started recommending me GE videos for some reason. AGE's are born using the P73 Bias Factor, which has been historically been considered a cursed Bias Factor due to the amount of death it causes, from the First God Eater going berserk after being born from his mother's womb and killing all the scientists in the operating room as he was born and iirc a woman who wanted to destroy humanity because her mind was corrupted by the P73 Bias Factor when her father wanted her to survive an injury to her spine. GE3 doesn't do a great job at telling this history, but it would have been obvious enough for older fans of the series who really paid attention to this, especially since the Terminals in GE have usually been lore repositories, and in GE3, the AGE's are born from a variant of the P73 called the P73c, which is designed for the Ash. According to other people who can read Japanese, some GE3 media from Japan explain a few backstories, like how AGEs during their early easy had a tendency to go berserk. It's not well-implied that that was a possible reason Claire's brother killed their father. Average God Eaters in the GE3 era, specifically non-AGE New Types like Claire and Ricardo, are based on the more stable P53 Bias Factor that was discovered after the First God Eater experiment, the Managarm Project, was halted. Most God Eaters were made using this Bias Factor.
the traversing the past story is actually crucial story piece (but the gameplay for this is meh ) and like a sequel baiting... simple spoiler who want know it (just skip it if you dont want to be spoiler) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Soma inside aragami want to devour him like lindow god arc story, it manifest as soma when he was child... also it expose why ash storm happen in the future ( in takes place in god eater 3) as the big incident.. the ending is little bit a hope with ein/soma create new transport shield crawler to go back far east branch..
I enjoyed the story of this game quite a bit, but having just played through it for my third time and looking a little closer, it's honestly a mess. First off, the cargo you're carrying is directly said to be "the hope of humanity"... Only for us to find out that some scientist was literally just going to sell Phym to the Crimson Queen once he got her, so that was purely BS... Then Phym lets us beat Ashborn, okay, the previous point still holds true since Gleipnir didn't know that but in the world of GE3 that's more than enough to create tension and make her a target... Oh wait, everyone's cool with us being the only special ones who can fight humanities biggest threat and... OH WAIT, nevermind! Suddenly Phym is the key to operating a super weapon that was created before the Ashlands existed... Wait a sec... Why is Odin's power source AGE's (or Phym) when they didn't exist during the era when Odin was built? Fenrir HQ was destroyed right at the start of Calamity according to Soma's story, so how were the people who made Odin before AGE's existed planning on operating it then? Seriously... The Odin plot is so painfully dumb...Which is sad, because it's a great "moment" when you Engage with Phym and beat that stupid centaur thing into a pulp, it's just hard for me to ignore the road we took to get to that moment doing a few too many laps around stupid-town.
If you have grips about the story you didn't really pay attention to it cause as while it isn't a epic story there is a lot that you just ignored there is a lot of character development and if you the the post game memory line you learn all that but even before that you learn why lulu was abandoned and zeke's breakdown is character development so
Well, that's the thing. It's post game shit when all of it should've been in the main game! It's like they treated character development as an afterthought, adding it at the end of the story which makes no sense. Why would I care after the story's over, when there are no stakes anymore? And when you get to those character episodes, you just stand there and listen to them. They're so poorly presented, and it's a grind to get to them! They may as well be youtube videos. What they should've done is integrate them into the main game. That way, every time you take the characters you like out to combat, their affection increase, and naturally their stories will come. Also, this would encourage you to take different characters out instead of just using the ones you always pick. It's not that there's no character development, it's that it's not handled in a good way.
Now to be honest if I could draw extremely well and get to animating, I would've just finished the series myself because the games are just so beautiful and who wouldn't wana see the fight scenes
The only GE I finished the main story of because I can't handle the eng dubs of the previous games, even then I also like the characters in this game more whereas the story is fine per usual. It's real cliche but I love that Hugo is a childhood friend, gives him a believable reason to genuinely care about you unlike most characters in the past games who happens to end up together but become best buddies in a blink of an eye; I'm just a massive sucker for "found family" tropes and penal unit/mercenary stories, the dynamic of the group on this one just works personally (we do not deserve Phym, she is too good for this world). Only thing I'm disappointed of with this game is the not so great optimization on PC and lackluster character creator/customization, Code Vein blows this game out of the water on both departments while looking much better in general. Kind of clear Bamco is treating this game and the series as a whole like a bastard child, quite a sad state of affairs.

Even a fully prepared god eater will die instantly one mistake is all it takes GE3 lol 😆
@@DatLJGuy Honestly I think this particular game should not be compared to monster hunter. I really don't see the comparison they're both unique in their own way! Very different.

Not exactly... BUT you could go in with a fire sword and use ice bullets from your gun if the aragami seem weak to those specific elements
