i literally finished this game yesterday and i will say with the outmost confidence i enjoyed all of it, except the first mission in Difficulty 11, that was a nightmare.
I do hope you make a full playthrough series out of this. It's honestly a good game despite some repetitive missions, but the story is pretty awesome and honestly gets some heartfilled and gut wrenching moments.
I absolutely love the God Eater series. The weapons are fun and different enough from Monster Hunter that it doesn't feel as samey, the customization lends itself to more aesthetics and the characters are ones I love.
I iv actually finished this game sadly I sold my ps vita and god eater with it as I got board with it(I regret it now). However , have very fond memories of this game...julius viskonta was my favourite character of the franchise I loved the background music especially dance of flames track.
You have to remember that this was released on psp, so the only so much they can do with upscale. I think you might have missed some weapon controls? Each weapon both melee and guns have alt moves or extras. If the boost hammer that you were using has a ROCKET POWERED BOOST MODE, so there's ALOT of different modes to play with. In 2 there was the system that was called Blood Arts which 3 replaced with burst art system. Blood arts were equipable skills that would unlock while in burst mode. Some of these Blood arts were extremely high damaging and compared to 3 you could only equip 1 at a time. 2 akso has the most broken custom bullet system (probably the reason why the system in 3 was so hamstrung.) With a few burst skills and the right made bullet the hands set of monsters are one or two shot kills...
@@modageddon2742 blood rage was a cherry on top of how over powered custom bullets were in 2. Blood rage was not a requirement for most builds. But like speed kills you would activate it and use the reduced OP cost to spam more custom bullets then you normally could.
Odd I don't remember there being that many small monster quests right at the beginning, but maybe it's because I played it right after Resurrection so I was only doing the story-critical missions in the beginning. Still probably my favourite "monster hunting" game though.
I adore the GE series and I firmly believe that both 1 and 2 are superior to GE3. Also I am obligated to say that Code Vein has something to do with God Eater, but Scarlet Nexus has nothing to do with either. SN is an alright game but it doesn't even share a dev, only a publisher.
It's wayyyy too anime, I can't stomach most of it. Gameplay is decent at least, and tbh there aren't many mh likes so it's a nice change. Just hope they make a 4.
The real tutorial is videos in the archive database it was a weird way to have real tutorials but they are in-depth and are separate for each and every god arc part.
Some exaining on mechanics: A full charge slow devour give you a full burst bar, while faster and combo only part bar. When bursting you have stamina and OP regen, and become faster. Yes, when devouring you get bullet base on enemies, but you can also give them to allies. Every bullet gives a full bar, and is the only way to get level 2 and 3, st max you would literally never run out of stamina as it regen that fast. When an enemies gets a part broken some attacks become unabalable, for example braking the wind pipes on the Monl stop it air range attacks, so it would use more the roll and slam.
Gotta point out. Been playing GE3 (nice game, the small enemies sometimes get annoying but later on, you get to fight more big and exotic monsters then the like) and it's been mostly fun. However about the burst thing, you can burst just about as anytime you can, either by charging the devour button, pressing R1 + triangle for a quick devour and an aerial devour with the same prompt as the quick devour (each one has it's own percentage on charging your burst). you can't raise the burst level, the only way to do that is through your allies and have them shoot you burst bullets. which was shown in there. though i do wish it still had that mechanic of having the opportunity to steal the monsters power (though granted it would be pretty useless, because using the aragami's power against itself is pretty much pointless)
Just started this game last month, having a blast now in it, tho the start or base game of it is definitely slow, like on par with World/Rise before their updates. The Master Rank part (in this case, called Rage Burst) is definetly where it gets more interesting, with tougher monsters and expanding the story (also Livie's great, just hate how long it takes to meet her in game, took me 40 hours to beat base game to get to the part where she's introduced and unlocked as a partner).
Goddamn, after all these years, that scene keeps pestering me since I was a kid and it's driving me crazy. Someone finally addressed Nana eating the damn stick in the damn bread.
The right bullets and a decent gun can shred anything in this game. Crimson Orochi the most difficult single enemy in the game, takes a lot of grinding to take down but it's not that difficult given time and a bit of strategy.
I forgot about this, but yeah I did find out monster hunter came first though they are somewhat close. but god eater is a different experience since it's a lot faster pace while monster hunter is far more methodical, that and god eater is more story based focusing on the world that is fending off an active apocalypse (quite literally btw, short of the long when evolution hits a certain point the oracle cells activate with the end event being an aragami that devours the entire planet with life starting anew on the corpse of the aragami that dies almost immediately after. the appearance of humanoid aragami signaling that event is soon to happen)
This Is slightly hard to watch but your at least learning. Some advice you can use the arigami bullets to power up your comrades unless you figured out later but hopfully you find out all the other things that makes this game the best in the series but yes it's a very long game. And you haven't even seen the crazy stuff you can do with the bullets.
'Please Boost the Boost hammer" I felt you judged it a little too harshly. Monster Hunter like have been my go to since I discovered the it , however God Eater was what got me into the genre. The easier initital levels as a young kid helped me keep interest whereby learning the layered game mechanics, God Eater reduces that barrier to entry. The difficulty scales as one moves deeper into the game many fights needing to kill multiple big monsters in tight maps. Crafting and tuning God Arcs is also a big part that cant be felt in 2 hours of gameplay. In all it is a time sinking game just like MOnster HUnter and all the nuances cannot be experienced within that small time frame. Same with God Eater 3. P.S : (GE2 only) Use boost hammer with 'Intercepting Comet' blood art. You need to boost with 'R1+Square' the spam 'triangle'( boost rush) till you reach the enemy the spam 'Square'( boost drive), maybe get a quick devour before the monster strikes you back. Zoom across the map bashing aragami heads along with quick devours.. and feel the power trip set in..
yeah this game at first time was nothing but when you facing magatsu kyubi, crimson orochi, chrome gwain, blitz hannibal my man you need more than better equipment
Idk if you have, but have you checked out Toukiden Kiwami? There's only 2 games and I find that the difficulty spikes up and down, though it's easier than Monster Hunter, but I still like its aesthetic. Very Japanese style before MH Rise came out and the story is kinda similar, but has its own twist
Question this, Scarlett nexus, and code vein are all on sale atm....i can choose one and all have been on my wish list for a while... Im leaning towards scarlet nexus
God Eater 2 was alright. I still think God Eater Resurrection's predator styles system should have been kept for future games. Predator styles just felt right. They obviously dropped it to add blood rage eventually. Which is also a cool mechanic, but the problem is they always replace rather than expand. As it stands, God Eater 3 actually feels lacking in terms of having it's own game specific super gimmick. 1 had predator styles and 2 had blood rage. Before moving onto a 4th title, I'd rather they put in some expansion material to 3 to expand the story (please let us meet the old east branch members!) and add some mechanic that gives you that super human feeling the previous games did. Having the 3 pseudo-blood arts at once is nice and all, but it just doesn't feel particularly special, by comparison.
2RB released before Resurrection. That's why there are no Predator Styles or even aerial Devours in 2RB. And 3 had Engage and Acceleration Triggers as that game's "gimmicks"
na, ive played atleast 7-8 hrs and theres this one very annoying ass character whos whole purpose is to shit talk you and has to bitch about every little thing. I honestly couldn't bare playing anymore, thats how annoying it got for me. If i it helps change it to Japanese VA as it wont be as annoying as English VA but still.
I love God Eater franchise, even more than Monster Hunter I guess. I feel like they're completely different game and I can't understand why people compare God Eater and Monster Hunter. For story I like Rage Burst and Resurrection, but for combat mechanic I love 3. Different from Resurrection and Rage Burst, all weapon in 3 is amazing and I use them all based on what enemy I'll face. But in Rage Burst just stick with scythe and you can kill all kind of enemy easily while other weapon kinda just decent,
This game is LONG and holy hell the balance jumps out the window halfway through. Still a fantastic game tho. Blood arts are hella fun as well once you get them.
i can't remember if it was orochi or gawain(was a variant i think) but near the end of the game i dropped it because it was too hard. Whatever it was just had stupid wide range and kept killing the teammates til i ran out of items.
@@Phunatic I believe Orochi itself is a reskin of Gawain. That, or it's the other way around, I'unno. But the one you're talking about is Crimson Orochi, and he is the biggest bastard in the series, apparently. He's got the hitting power of a Fatalis with the speed of a Kirin. Probably faster, actually. I didn't fight him much, since he's just not a fun fight IMO. There IS a cheese that makes him die insanely fast though. He's really susceptible to poison build up, and if you do the fight on the max extra danger setting (believe it caps at 99) proccing poison puts his health at 1. No idea why this happens, nor why they never patched it, but it worked last time I played and I don't think they'll have patched it since.
