It seems some people are interpreting this video as an attack on CS2 itself when that isn't the intention of the video. This isn't a review of CS2. I'm going to be typing this response out as a general comment because I anticipate several comments with similar talking points. I don't have time to reply to everyone, as this video appears to be blowing up. From what I played, I think CS2 is an improvement over CS: GO in at least a couple of key ways. The visuals feel a lot more modern but also retain a certain level of simplicity that works very well for a game like this. I like how brightly lit maps are in general; There is an overall higher degree of visual clarity in CS2. If you prefer CS2 over CS: GO, that's absolutely fine. This video is very much intended to critique the launch of CS2, which I don't think is acceptable. I very much wouldn't be complaining about any of the things in this video if Valve allowed for a slower, albeit smoother transition between the two games. I would've been fine with Valve cutting official server support for CS: GO if there was enough warning given and with the majority of CS: GO's features being included in CS2. I could understand why people would interpret this video as an attack on CS2 itself when I talked about Valve "communicating" to me that this game isn't worth playing over the old one. I'll admit that I could've chosen my words better here, but what I meant is that there are numerous valid reasons one would want to play CS: GO over CS2, and Valve probably knows that. I'm not saying there aren't reasons to play CS2 over CS: GO, but basically forcing everyone to play it somewhat *communicates* to me a lack of confidence in the new product as it is. It doesn't matter how much you argue how much of an improvement CS2 is over CS: GO, or that it is the same game but ported to a new engine (this one I find particularly disingenuous. Yes, they are very similar games, but they are not the same game and Valve doesn't advertise them as such). These arguments still don't address the fact that I and many others simply prefer having the missing features of CS: GO and don't really want to play CS2 until they're available. Yes, while your inventory does carry over, these are very much different games at the moment and to say otherwise is false.
I have 3k hours in csgo. I spent I dunno how long get the achievements 100 % completion, some of them were actually tough enough back in the day. and they removed them for even me to see on my profile. so thanks valve, I guess?
Valve games imo have always had some of the best and most in depth achievements compared to most other games so it was sad to see them just nuke all of CSGOs as well as the game itself which ive been playing since I was 11
I don't usually cover big multiplayer games like this, but I'm trying to get into a routine of uploading more regularly. I've missed making videos quite a bit, and I want to change that. Stay tuned for my Lies of P video review!
with it literally being their platform, i have the feeling they could've made a workaround where you and other viewers of your profile were able to see previous csgo achievements in addition to cs2 ones. i mean, they never fixed most of the original csgo ones (office windows) so it does kind of make sense tho.
That's unlogical. What if you already have Source achievements? What if you wanted to keep both CSS and CSGO achievements? Even if CS2 will add 9999 achievements, it will not change the fact that you lost your CSGO achievements.
Disagree here. CS:2 is a port of cs:go to the source 2 engine, along with a bunch of QoL updates and a few new features. When Dota2 switched over to the new engine it was the same situation. It's not like they started from scratch- you even have the same inventory. Achievements have been bugged for a long time on cs:go anyways. Seems like picking at nits- old man angry at sky vibes.
That's the first case devs deleted old achivements because they ported the game. EVER! No devs ever was doing such stuff in the past. Half Life Source is a port of original Half Life 1, why devs didn't delete Half Life 1 in this case? Why there is not a signle game in existance that does aplly to your logic besides CS2? "Achievements have been bugged anyway" - so what, how's that justifies removing the players awards they were earning for hundreds of hours? Imagine if minimal wage workers would not get any money at all because "they were underpayed anyway"m would be just as good justification.
CS2 isn't a new game, its simply a csgo "port" onto the source 2 engine that they had to make from scratch due to limitations in the source engine. The reason for valve replacing csgo with cs2 isn't because they think the new game is "not worth playing over csgo" but more because both csgo and cs2 are meant to be the exact some experience, not a prequel and a sequel, think of it as an update. The current problem with cs2 is not that you can no longer play csgo, but more of its rushed release. With time, cs2 will have all the features csgo had and more, like you mentioned in the video.
It IS a new game. It is clearly not marketed as "just an update" and obviously the name implies it is a sequel to the first iteration (not sure if they meant it as a spiritual sequel to CS:GO or the original CS, possibly made vague on purpose). I still find it really dumb to straight up delete a game in favor of a sequel, it was done with Overwatch and it was dumb and now Valve jumped on this bandwagon, I really hope this doesn't become a trend because it really is very stupid (but it most likely will, unfortunately).

Yep, not only it's infuriating how they destroyed CSGO and now us low end PCs enjoyers can't play, but now they even destroyed our achievements 😭

well at least I can relate to someone

So I changed the review to not recommended.

Css has similar achievements to cs:go,you can get them while valve is adding them back.

La verdad menos mal no lo juegue en sus inicios, estaría hecho mierda con los logros eliminados.
Disagree here.

its the same game, just an update
