@djo lo that's not the only reason, steam runs in a really outdated and messy code, written by ppl that don't work at valve no more. If anyone tries to change anything on steam's code to fix a bug or two, they'll create 100 more, so they just leave it as it is
why would they bother fixing something that is harmless. as long as it doesnt allow any redirects to websites outside of steam then its fine. and typically steam would notify you if you were leaving the app to go to an external website. but im sure that can be easily manipulated.
