Finally a review that's honest...when most ppl do a review it seems like they always by default think the newer model is soooo much better...I also have both, and wile the micro 2 does sound a hair better ..it's not worth the money if you already have the older model and money is tight...like I said wile the newer model is a lil better....it's very slight!! For instance 5.3 by vs 5.0,..it's just silly cause there's not hardly any difference! The sound is slightly better in newer model but if your over 40 yrs old your probably not gonna notice anyways...I actually just use my older one till it dies on me then I'll continue with the newer one..
I highly recommend the newer stormbox micro2. If you don't have one, then you should grab one. Also, update it with the app. The sound is improved with the update.
More battery makes v2 worth it. Not enough was my only issue with v1. Also, props to Tribit for making both versions compatible, even though that may not have been intentional 😂
so wait, are you saying you can use tws and pair a storm box original to a storm box micro 2? If so, that's way cool! I just ordered my storm box micro, but unfortunately, it's not coming until Sunday. I know, major "I want it now syndrome is setting in as I watch this video.′
@@junktube4000 Ive only depleted the battery once and I got around 8 hours. That was around 75% volume. So with that being said that’s a drastic improvement over the first version with was around half that
I bought a Tribit StormBox based on all the great reviews. The second I turned it on I was disappointed in how it sounded (flat and muffled) and knew I was returning it. Then I discovered I had the first version and not the StormBox 2. Now I have the second version and its much better. I think #1 is garbage tbh. I'll add that the speaker sounds better when the face is pointing at a listener instead of facing up at a sky of ceiling. If the speaker is (say) attached to handlebars then the speaker can be tilted to face rider/listener. Just laying the speaker flat on a table, desk etc doesn't sound as good
Still have my first strormbox micro I even left it outside for 2 months in rain and everything and it still works. These things are built to last for cheap i see myself owning 4 of em soon I already got 2
Thanks for the new Tribit review I have2 of them they have a better punch but like them both listening to your video on a Tribit Stormbox Pro what speaker this company is awesome quality at a great price loving Tribit speakers. Great video like the new music as well awesome as always
More battery, EQ app, better and more visible controls, improved Bluetooth - even at full price (compared to rivals) it very much worth the upgrade! (just ordered V2). I used V1 daily on my bike, and imho its only weakness is the rubber strap. Could be better (nobody made it better than UE Roll - sadly, it doesn't sound as good), and I've already got it broken on one of my speakers - right next to the "hook" (which is a piece of plastic inside the rubber strap), thin rubber torn apart. I wonder if they improved it somehow as well.
I'm just looking for a cheap Bluetooth speaker for basic use around the house. assuming that you have the V2 now, which would you recommend on a tight budget?
So far so good! They did improve the mount somewhat, so plastic hook doesn't break through rubber easily. (And I attach speaker almost everyday to the stem, not even handlebars).
@@user-on8xf3lm4j I'd say get V1, it is cheap now. I see it is now often less than 40€ on amazon (DE). Soundwise they are very close, and V1 actually looks even better for me.
This is portable and meant to use for travel -- so do think u will need to charge your phone at any point in your journey? Power bank is the main deal maker for me
I just bought one and started using it. The sound is great. I wish there were an easier way for me to charge it. I need to get an adapter in order to charge it.
So indoors it sounds great but using it while riding my bike I turn the bass all the way down so I can increase the volume loud enough so I can hear it without it sounding distorted or muddy. Overall I think it's a great speaker.
Thanks for this incredibly helpful Bluetooth speaker comparison! Your review covered all the essential points, and I appreciate the detailed insights. However, I'm struggling to pair my Tribit Micro with the Tribit Micro 2.. In your video, it seemed to work seamlessly. 13:45 Could you please share the trick to achieve this pairing? Thanks in advance!
That’s my question top, someone has said and confirmed this can happen, someone else has said it doesn’t work for them. Don’t know which is correct, yes or no.
My Micro 2 fell dwon my bicycle while i was riding (frame upper tube was a wrong place to mount it - I've hit it with my knee up and than down, that made it fall off while off handle riding..) and it did hit the asphalt and i also rode over it.. Fabric is sligtly torn in one place on the top, some really small scratches on the bottom rubber part but nothing more than that and it didn't even stop playing and plays with exactly the same high quality pleasant sound just like before
I have one micro and wanted another for a stereo function. Can I have a micro and micro 2 to make a system please? Ok I know the sound would be slightly different and the battery life different, but don’t want to junk something relatively new and unused if I don’t have to. The micro and micro 2 were paired in this video Thanks
Sorry if what I’ve written is confusing, thank you for responding. Can I pair a micro and micro 2 storm box together? Your video has 2 (one of each version) paired but a commenter says it didn’t work for them. Thank you 😊
Thanks for info. In both Manuals they do say pair with the same model. On another question someone has mentioned that you can pair Micro1 and micro 2 to be a stereo system. But you need to pair micro 2 with phone, as the master speaker and then pair the micro 1 with micro 2 but not with the phone. Have also seen a video of the 2 different models being paired. Will have a go doing this over the weekend.
Wow great video very useful seriously , Please, is there ANY way to do this (pairing a pair for stereo playback) with a pair of almost same sized JBL GO3 ?Thank you so much. Antonio

Very thorough review. The party and stereo modes with the original Stormbox Micro is great! Thanks for this!
Your review, as hard as it is to show off a speaker through a video, was done very well.
Thank you!

Is it better than the bose soundlink micro it's 120$ tribit is half the price 50$ with USB C I really Wana get it
man I really wish they did something to cover that port, really makes me uncomfortable having water splash on that.
Why ? You can go under water with smartphones too and they didn‘t cover it too!
@@ApfelSgt I think it's because of the metal part of the port being prone to rust. I've thought about it too after hearing it from a review.
i just ordered a version two to pair with my V1. But I must say I much prefer the looks of the original speaker.
did they pair?
only difference i notice is white buttons on new one. is that it?

Strange, I have the orange color Tribit Micro and it has the raised buttons on the front just like the new Tribit Micro 2.
Micro 2 vs maxsound plus upgraded? What would be your pick?

I have one but the power bank only works for like 3 seconds then stops charging

Thank you Sir! 😀
The stormbox micro 2 sounds warmer. Almost like engaging a little bit of Dolby Atmos to it. But I won't upgrade from the predecessor.
What about the codec?
What about it?
SBC only of i am not wrong
The speaker is compatible with Bluetooth 5.3, but supports only the SBC codec, not AAC or AptX like some other models.

How is taking calls on Micro 2? Is the sound to other person on other side loud and clear? Wanna take it for office meetings too!
