I was cheering for the Dodgers this series but I do thank the Astros for eliminating Boston in the ALDS.
Yea best team they beat was the Yankees tho. Yankees gave up only 20 runs in the 7 games unlike the Dodgers who gave up 34 runs in the 7 games meanwhile they had home field advantage. That is pitiful for a world series team. I can't even say the Dodgers were a top 3 team in baseball despite their win total during the season. The best AL teams are way better than the best NL teams and it was proven this postseason. 1- Houston 2- Yankees 3- Indians 4- Dodgers.

After watching Astros games for the past 7 years and seeing them lose 100 games a year I wondered why they traded away their players or just didn't go after other players. They were a terrible team but I would go watch them every year, now they are World Series champions and its an unbelievable feeling! So proud of the team!

Crazy how this was 5 years ago. Now they finally completed their redemption arc, dusty finally won a ring as a manager and proved they can win without cheating, but the thing that i will never get the answer tho is why did they cheated? Especially after all this talent they grew by themselves and i just don't get why they tainted that title and the players, but what's done is done. At least the astros can but this behind them now.
In the life of the MLB, cheating is considered a dare to the rules. Teams and/or players will try to take advantage of loopholes to win and some fans of those players/teams will defend them. Keep in mind, the Astros only did this in the regular season for a few months and they never did it in the playoffs.
cuz I believe other teams were doing it so if they didn’t do anything, they would’ve been at a disadvantage. It just comes down on the commissioner for letting it get as bad as it did.
Honestly the worst part is how misinformed so many fans seem to be about the situation. Calling players cheaters who hadn’t even debuted in 2017 or were on a different team. Booing Altuve despite him never cheating. The only 2 players left who cheated are Bregman and Gurriel, who were in their first full season in 17. Not to mention the cheating made this World Series win more surprising, considering how if you look at their stats at home compared to away, the cheating actually made them worse. They had better stats on the road in every category except SB. And they didn’t cheat for 3 years like many believe, it was may-September 2017, no post season, no 2018, no 2019.
I think people sometimes forget that LA had home field advantage and went 2 for 2 there.
Why do you think that only the Astros were cheating??? Many teams were doing it to get an edge over the other teams. The Yankees, Red Sox, dodgers, etc were cheating as well. However, the MLB brass didn't want the "legacy" teams like the ones I just mentioned, to get outed because they are considered too important for the MLB to get caught. Did u read the MLB letter that was published earlier this year that mentioned that the Yankees and Red Sox got caught cheating in 2015 and 2017, and fined $100,000 and the league kept it quiet??? MLB used the Astros as the scapegoat. That's why all the Astros players were given immunity. Guess who bought the cheating to Houston, Carlos Beltran, ex Yankee.

On one hand, I was so happy when the Dodgers lost this World Series at the time, being a SF Giants fan and all.
On the other hand, the Astros definitely cheated their way to a title that year and the Red Sox did the same the next year.

As a Texas Ranger fan I am also a native Texan. I swear I was so rooting for the Astros and will from here on out. So I'll have 2 favorite teams just like I love the Longhorns and the Sooners. My grandpa who died in 1982 at 96 was a lifelong astros/colt 45s fan. He never had a tv. Didn't want one. Lived right across the red River in colbert, oklahoma. I remember like yesterday, Garrett snuff under his lip, old tin Folger can to spit in, old radio tune to the Astros game, Jimmy Wynne batting, grandpa leaning from his old chair getting close to hear... You want to know a world of pain and misery support Crystal Palace...a lifetime of hurt pain and misery. I am so happy the astros finally won the world series and for all their fans. Back in 1965 I took a liking to a relatively smaller center fielder for the Astros who could hit the ball a long way - Jimmy Wynn. I have been an Astros fan ever since. At 9:59 my time, I can still remember that call on the international broadcast - "for the first time in 56 years..." What a great moment, and I never get tired of seeing these highlights.

I've been a fan since I was a wee lad. I remember going to games in the early 2000s. I remember Bagwell and Biggio. I remember my heart stopping every time Brad Lidge came out to close a game. I remember the inter league game played between the low tier Astros and the high tier Red Sox where they beat one of the oldest teams 11-10. I live in New Hampshire now, but I've always watched my team.
I don't care if I end up living outside of the United States, the Astros will always be my favorite sports team.

They were definitely cheating in Game 7. It's obvious if you know anything about baseball. Darvish has the highest career strikeout rate in MLB history - and there are only two games in his entire career in which he could not record a strikeout - the games against the Astros in the World Series. His career strikeout rate against the Astros team is even higher. Bregman, a guy who has stolen 30 bases in his entire career, steals THIRD in the first inning of game 7 of the WS. If you follow baseball, you know how improbable that is. It was so obvious that they knew what pitches were coming that Beltran (a true scumbag) circulates "rumors" that Darvish was "tipping his pitches". No pride, no honor. Just horrible.

I go for the astros and my dad who lives in California called me asking me if I wanted a Dodgers jersey for my birthday and I told him I was an Astros fan and would perfer a astros jersey. He told me we had no chance of winning he texted me "I guarantee you that Dodgers will take that championship home" I never told him anything. He told me to be prepared to be dissapointed when astros lost the world series. He told me "Why do you think astros are going to win?" Me and my family watched that game 7 in the world series and I texted him "Yeah guaranteed" He didin't reply. As soon as we won I called him telling him it was a good game he didin't say much. I bought myself a Houston Astros Jersey and it just reminds me that if you stay strong no matter what people say then you'll always be a champion
