I was behind 1st base. Brantley’s double play will easily be the best defensive play by a player in an Astros uniform EVER. I’ve been to a lot of games at MMP and this was the most electric it’s EVER been. I was there for yordan’s walk off against the mariners and game 6 of the 22 WS. It has never been more electric than in that moment

    • @tr3cardo

Double pops on that play. When he caught the ball and then the out at first! Man, wish I could have experienced that at MMP!

In 2017, 2018 and 2019, the Houston Astros had 100 win seasons. In 2011, 2012 and 2013, the Houston Astros had 100 loss seasons.
José Altuve was there for _all_ of 'em. I saw his commitment first hand on a couple of occasions during the team's doldrums, when it was busier outside Minute Maid than inside. In 2013, Houston was not a baseball city. Academy didn't even stock Astros merch in their Webster store.
I couldn't be happier for José. He's a phenomenal player, He's the best you'll find in a clutch.

If you didn't know any better, you would have thought Altuvie just hit a walk off in the middle of may. No chest pounding or yelling or screaming! I guess the same could be said about Lemayu (or however you spell his name) but it's a bit different since they still had to get 3 outs before they could celebrate.

I was thinking the same thing. He judges the ball better and climbs the fence. Springer didn't use the fence at all. He just jumped and tried to rely on his length. That move of putting Marisnick in to pinch run backfired, imo. I'm not a Brantley fan because he doesn't hustle but I believe he put it into second gear last night and earned the right to stay in the game at that point. But oh well, we won and that's what really matters. Geaux Streauxs! *I'm cajun lol

It’s weird how Gurriel’s home runs always end up in the same place. In the 2017 World Series, he hits one to left field, at 2:46, hits one to left field. Now why would there be no opposite field home runs? He has enough power to do so, and why did two different home runs in two different situations be hit to the exact same spot? Is it because he knew what pitch was coming and therefore knew when to time his swing?
