What i love about Mookies run to first is that he didnt slow down at any point like most runners who think theyre out do. He gave it everything and it paid off, one second slower and Rizzo couldve made the bag
Rizzo was lazy and so was cole. Cole should have kept running to first Rizzo saw him running to first he didn't think cole would stop this is a routine play they run in spring training
Rizzo is inept. An easy bouncer & he's backing up on it & letting the ball play him. Cole didn't break toward the base & would not have beaten Betts to the bag. Rizzo needed to show some urgency with a fast runner and move up on the ball to play it. No glove skill.
Congratulations!! Especially Freeman, Ohtani, Betts and the former Blue Jays players. Congratulations to Dave Roberts too. Excellent managing in the WS.
Judge taking his eye off the ball to drop the most basic catch. Volpe not knowing where to throw as a shortstop is something you learn in little league. and Cole not covering first is the most basic pfp ever. extremely poor defense on all basic things from people getting paid millions of dollars in the world series.
Aaron Boone didn't even think to visit the mound as the season fell apart. I hope they hand him a box tonight for his stuff. I don't think many professional managers could fail to win with this club, but Aaron Boone found a way.
Maybe with a young kid , but Garrett Cole knows all there is to know really , and can't blame Boone Yankees just ran into an overpowered overpaid dodgers Dodgers kinda outspent everyone this year not fair really , I'm impressed Yankees kept so many games so close , games 5 and 1 coulda been Yankee wins Where Mets and others just got blown out most games
At the 03:10 mark of this Video, Yankees 1st-Baseman A.Rizzo goes to talk to G.Cole on the Mound telling Him if a Ball is Grounded towards 1st-Base, Don’t Run to Cover just Point to the Base so that we can start the off-season after this Game.
As a Dodger fan I loved every second of this inning. The Yankees were so damn arrogant and cocky they deserved to be taken down a few pegs by the lowly Dodgers.
@@mr.t5176 Just calling as is 5 un earned runs doesn't sound like you hit the balls into the gap, off the wall, over the wall it was sloppy fielding. I expected the Dodgers to win in 6. if the Yankees had played better defense it would have gone 6 games.
I'm in the same boat, but you can listen to the games on espn radio, that's what ive been doing. If you go to the boxscore of the game on ESPN, on the left is a little headphones icon that says ESPN radio, where you can listen to the announcers call the game. Judge, Volpe and Cole decided after the 4th Inning that they didn’t want to fly out to LA for games 6 or 7. I think the Three wanted to Go to the NYC Halloween Parade dressed as the “Stooges”.
Everyone says this was an collapse of the Yankees. Let's give the Dodgers credit for turning up the heat with their hustle, grit and lack of quit. Most of those hits came with 2 outs anf two strikes. Really impressive example of never quit and the Dodgers were rewarded handsomely for it.
First off, congratulations to the Dodgers on a hard fought comeback win. Having said that, as an unbiased Phillies Phan, that was a God-tier collapse by the Yankees.
Congratulations to the DODGERS and my wife Cookie such a loyal fan, no matter if they were loosing 10 to 0 in the fourth inning she would watch the game until the end! Thank you DODGERS for a great season and an awesome World Series win!!🏆
The killer mistake was when Cole the pitcher did not run to first and cover on the routine ground ball. That out would have ended the inning with the Yankees still up. Cole actually pitched a great game but its the world series you have to run and cover first base as soon as you see the ground ball on that side. All the other errors added up but they did not kill the Yankees like that mistake did.
If the ball didn't spin away from 1st base, Rizzo easily makes the play. But since it had so much spin, Rizzo couldn't field it and run to first in a timely manner. Cole should've been covering 1st regardless...
Boone should have yanked Cole at that point. You can see in his eyes at 11:04 that he wasn't in a good place anymore. And certainly after it became 5-3 it was crazy to keep him in.
Boys and girls that is why you always run out to first no matter what. Imagine if Mookie pulled up and didn't run it out. The inning ends with Cole pitching a shut out. Granted the Yankees did everything in their power to lose this game but that one play started it all. This is why Mookie's a Hall of Famer and is the second iteration of the Bambino curse for the Red Sox. That's now 2 championships to none since he was traded.

Yeah Cole was trolled, so he’s like ok you know what?
What are you looking at it was a slow as he'll roller that Rizzo just waited to some to him. Go get the ball and step on first.
Dodgers come back from trailing 0-5 in the 5th inning. That’s baseball. You give someone an inch, they’ll take a mile. They made the most out of that opportunity. What a game!
this is going to go down as one of the biggest post season blunders of all time
Dodgers are the best team this year no doubt. Getting 5 runs while being down 5-0 is a tough feat!🎉🎉

I would hope so after all that money spent

@@kellykarcher7179 neat
@@kellykarcher7179Yankees really only have a couple big names in the lineup though. Having Judge and an aging Stanton isn’t the same as having 3 MVPs in their primes at the top of the order. Plus, if you add in the deferred 68 million per year of Ohtani’s contract they absolutely blow past the Yankees in payroll. They earned the win, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t buy it too.
Aaron Judge scores one run for the Yankees and scores 5 for the Dodgers. Well done.

He played better than Ohtani so...
LVP of the series
@brostrummer4690 Doesn't really matter, at the end of the day one of them walked out as a World Series Champion, and it wasn't Judge.
Nah he didn't, his scores means nothing as it didn't contribute to his team winning, ohtani's clutch double in game 1 lead to mookie scoring and the game going to 10th innings, without that Yankees win 2-1. Also his walk in 1st innings, lead to freedie hitting a 2 run HR, setting the tone for game 3 early on. Also the clutch at bat today of not getting out lead to mookie coming in to score a sac fly for game lead. Not all at bats are equal, ohtani has definitely underperformed but it's still better then what judge did the entire postseason. I still haven't mention the horrendous 1/1000 error that he committed today. @@brostrummer4690

He knew neither one of them was really fast so he booked it and hoped for the best. Incredible sprint.
that blunder at first base tells you one thing, Cole was gassed. You always run to first base there, no surprise they score 4 more in the inning.
I think Gerrit was so focused on making pitches that he had a mental lapse on defense.
If he was gassed, he wouldn't have thrown 2 really good innings after that.
G.Cole had enough energy to Raise His Arm and Point to 1st-Base in case A.Rizzo got Confused.
I’ll never forget this Dodgers team 💯🔥👊🏽

Congratulations!! Especially Freeman, Ohtani, Betts and the former Blue Jays players. Congratulations to Dave Roberts too. Excellent managing in the WS.
Judge taking his eye off the ball to drop the most basic catch. Volpe not knowing where to throw as a shortstop is something you learn in little league. and Cole not covering first is the most basic pfp ever. extremely poor defense on all basic things from people getting paid millions of dollars in the world series.
They deserve to lose this series 💯
Volpe made the right play. It was a bad throw that he rushed.
As far as I’m concerned VOLPE IS STILL IN LITTLE LEAGUE!!!!!!!
Not to mention Rizzo not charging lazy grounder. Chisholm bungling relatively easy one-hop bounce.

Aaron Boone didn't even think to visit the mound as the season fell apart. I hope they hand him a box tonight for his stuff. I don't think many professional managers could fail to win with this club, but Aaron Boone found a way.
The Dodgers were playing CHESS the Yankees are playing CHECKERS Game over .
I think its Cole's fault. He had to cover the 1st base.
The players choked. Nothing Aaron Boone could do.
Maybe with a young kid , but Garrett Cole knows all there is to know really , and can't blame Boone Yankees just ran into an overpowered overpaid dodgers

Cole was gassed by then...Mookie would have beat him to the bag anyway
Boone should have yanked Cole at that point. You can see in his eyes at 11:04 that he wasn't in a good place anymore. And certainly after it became 5-3 it was crazy to keep him in.
Cole not covering first is like Cam Newton not falling on the fumble in the Super Bowl. Total lack of effort on the biggest stage.
It’s on par with the Buckner error.
When having a bad day I just watch this and remind myself that it’s not too bad compare to this inning
“Judge might have got that in the lights” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Boys and girls that is why you always run out to first no matter what. Imagine if Mookie pulled up and didn't run it out. The inning ends with Cole pitching a shut out. Granted the Yankees did everything in their power to lose this game but that one play started it all.
This is why Mookie's a Hall of Famer and is the second iteration of the Bambino curse for the Red Sox. That's now 2 championships to none since he was traded.
