@amossingh6315 the same thing is what alot people also loved, as it gave more conext to the movie. Felt like you watched a whole series within a few minutes, more context and depth to teh story portrayed flawlessly
Unfortunately there was studio interference and the director was forced to cram everything into one movie instead of the 2-3 as originally planned. Imho some of the epic fight scenes were a bit too long... still what we have is simply gorgeous with some decent acting and dialogue. Its a diamond in the rough.

He did say they shot a lot of hours but that he felt bored when editing and decided to cut down the scenes to make the movie engaging. The other parts which was meant to be a 5 movie saga was to come out later but due to the poor box office it was not lit, you can find this info in the interviews he had with Charlie discussing the timing of the movie and why he made it shorter
GREAT movie with an incredible musical score. Goosebumps EVERY TIME I hear that wildly epic music when he pulls the sword from the stone. What’s wrong with people? Such a gritty, yet beautiful take on the Arthurian Legend.
Love this movie since day one. Saw it in the cinema and got it on 3D Blu-ray and 2D Blu-ray. Soundtrack was great too. Film did well on Netflix, maybe that should help it get a deserved sequel?
@HardlyGaming in the original legend yes, but the movie isn't the original legend, it's an adaptation. there's quite a few things cut out of the original legend to compact into the movie, including making Excalibur and the sword in the stone the same sword.
Today this video finds me back :) how funny just after I foubnd back a little medal representing Joan of Arc... and days after i have learnt about ... some "unknown-hidden"... family part of my family tree..and after some days some people in Paris stole my bags of clothes and work material (like the swords I used to teach theatrical combat to children...) I am not kidding I was stolen this way and more...I was told also to go away from Paris ... and more ... Well some corrupted people in Paris especially religious ones should learn lessons even from interesting movies like this one.. "l'habit ne fait pas le moine " :) Best ! VT.

The sword in the stone is named Caliban, Excalibur was giving to Arthur by the Lady of the Lake.
