The sons came up with anger in their eyes. They had imagined and fantasized exactly how this would go. They would come with rage and Ragnar would cower with them. They would be POWERFUL, STRONG, CONFIDENT and BOLD with their father. Their anger would be great! They would stare at him with hate and speak such strong words! They would challenge their father and their father would give up his kingship in submission without a fight, they KNEW IT! There’s layers to it. They are warriors, they were not afraid, but the prospect of killing your father, watching the life recede from his eyes. Tht is something different. In my opinion, If ubbe wasn't the one in front of Ragnar, the outcome would have been unpleasant, you can see it in their eyes, ubbe seemed more sympathetic towards Ranger than the others, he chose his father's pride over his own, I respect him for that, both of the actors did an amazing job, Travis not getting an award is a crime😭
I love how the boys were mouthing out about Ragnar just before this, but when they actaully came face to face with the old boar the little piggies froze. I think they all realised in that moment why Ragnar was so legendary
the aacting in this series is on another level..you can have a good series like this ..but the actors they chose for this were totaly brilliant. the series makers really managed to creat a legend of a series
Notice he never gave to option to Ivar? It is no question Ragnar loves ivar, but imagine the disrespect Ivar must feel that Ragnar did not think him capable because of his legs.
He didn't ask Ivar, because he knew the other two wouldn't. He rubbed Ivar's head instead of asking, cause he was who Ragnar knew would become the fiercest of the group. He brought him to England at the last for the same reason.
@@seanmwhite121708 Hvitserk one of the softest? We've seen already that Hvitserk very clearly isn't soft, he's just as brutal as Ivar if a tad less ambitious. Do you not remember Hvitserk in York? Maybe Ragnar thought Hvitserk was soft, but if he did then he definitely didn't know his sons "pretty well". And would Ragnar see Ubbes rational approach as 'soft'? Floki would maybe see him as soft for wanting to talk with the Christians and have peace, but I don't think Ragnar would since he felt the same way. It really does just seem like Ragnar underestimated Ivar and didn't even consider him. First Ragnar tried to kill Ivar because he thought he wouldn't survive. Then he treated Ivar differently to his other sons throughoutnIvars childhood. Then the next bit of evidence is this scene, he doesn't give Ivar the choice to "be King". Next Ragnar 'asked' Ivar to come to England with him last, and in fact didn't even really ask. At first he just said "you're coming" which is demeaning in itself since it removed the choice from Ivar. Ivar had to demand that Ragnar treats him with the same respect he gives to his brothers and asks him - "not unless you ask me...". Then, this one someone has already said, once they were in Wessex Ragnar told Ivar that he *did* think Ivar was weak because of his legs, but that he now knows he was wrong (this realisation is *after* this scene). Finally, before Ragnar was taken to be delivered to Aelle, he told Ivar that everyone he ever meets will underestimate him. How does Ragnar know this? Because Ragnar himself underestimated Ivar. It really does seem like he didn't give Ivar the choice because he didn't think he was strong enough, all the evidence suggests that was the case. It would just be out of character if for this one scene Ragnar decided Ivar was too strong. The whole point of their story was Ragnar realising he was wrong about Ivar, to suddenly assume Ragnar knew about the real Ivar as soon as he returned to Kattegat takes away from that story.
James Love I agree with the most part but hvitserk is soft ngl this dude gets scared easy. Ragnar scared him in this scene and Bishop hegmund did the exact same thing and hvitserk got scared. He is a great warrior but out of the 4 brothers left he is the softest
Even an old and tattered Ragnar still had that authority and charisma. No one dared to challenge him, even when he was begging them to. He was still as fierce and intimidating as ever. The look he gives Ubbe right before he says “You wanna be king Ubbe.” Is almost like he recognizes himself most in Ubbe.
I remember thinking: Ragnar is coming back, after a very long time. I wonder how is he going to act, how is he going to convince his people? And was thinking that there is no way they are going to pull this off and the scene is going to be shit anyway. Then I watched this unfold, and was left speechless. This is genius. Travis is flawless, the writing and directing are on point, this is just too good. With Ragnar they never missed.
It's literally crazy that being an dangerous man on earth, every kingdom in the world talking about one person, and that person not even care about that... Great !...late Viking times might be collapsed and destroyed but they all had lived adventurous life that most of us wish to have💔
I don’t know why it took so long to realize but Ragnar has the signature blue combat ready eyes here. Anyone who grabbed that sword was grabbing at the valkyrie’s feathers.
Man, Vikings ain´t no Game of thrones, but scenes like these can´t be found anyware else. This speach and the one he gives before his death are probably better tan any individual scene, speach or dialog of any other series in its genre.
The way he walked around desperately trying to hand off the sword to someone it's almost as if you can see the sword as a crown the way it represents the title of being King. Phenomenal acting by the guy who played Ragnar

I loved watching this years ago (miss ragnar and miss watching vikings) but my have black tiktok done even more magic with this scene. Got me ready to rewatch all of Vikings again.
Same
His face at 5:28 is award worthy... he just looks so powerful
4:55 when he rubs Ivar's head and then tries to wipe his fingers off like there was something in his hair haha
Like ugh nigga you got dandruff
@@uglyass9084 nah frfr 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Really important detail is Ivars eyes change as this scene happens.
Looking back, it blows my mind how much Bjorn looked like Ragnar. The casting of Travis Fimmel and Alexander Ludwig was genius
WHOOOOO WANTS TO BE KINGGGG. LMAOOO HOW FUNNY IS IT WHEN HE SAYS KING UBBA THEN SLAPS HIM TWICE. HAHA UBBA FACE PURE RAGING.
Hell, he didn’t just slap Ubbe, he slapped the rest of the people behind him too 😂
While everyone was terrified, Ivar Was Enjoying the Show.
✨✨❤️
Oi mellu boi
4:24 u can still see ubbe's neck from Ragnar's slaps in previous shot takes😂😂
Imcuming Foryou Hahahahah
Heheh
lmoa
😂
I love how the boys were mouthing out about Ragnar just before this, but when they actaully came face to face with the old boar the little piggies froze. I think they all realised in that moment why Ragnar was so legendary
Such a shame how this show ended. It's heartbreaking to me
Dexter, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead. I enjoyed them all. This show I actually loved.
Id like Vikings Valhalla to continue into William the Conquerors story and branch out into the Norman conquest of Sicily and the first crusades.
Ragnar made this movie so special
Best actor in the world
He deserves all the awards ❤
You know ivar wished he could have picked the sword up
if he could picked up himself :))
Nop, Ivar loved Ragnar more than the others, he wouldn't do that
If you think Ivar would kill Ragnar, clearly you didn’t pay attention to their relationship nor the show
@@pacificaos7393 He did not love him, but he respected and admired him.
@@darksteal568 he loved him.
Ubbe was the only child who fulfilled his father's dream of settling his people on new and fertile land.
"KING UBBE"
lol I laughed hard
:D
🤣🤣🤣
Fuck why is it kinda funny 😂
I laughed sooooo hard...😂😂😂😂and I dropped my phone...😆😆😆
the aacting in this series is on another level..you can have a good series like this ..but the actors they chose for this were totaly brilliant. the series makers really managed to creat a legend of a series
Bjorn walking up is EPIC.
A true vicking such a scene, so much passion, such power such weight on each one of his words.
Ivar killed at 6 I’m pretty sure he knew his sons pretty well. Ubbe and Hvitserk were his oldest and softest and Sigurd wasn’t on that level
Because at this time he still underestimates him because of his legs. But he also didn't ask Bjorn he knows he wouldnt beat Bjorn iron side any more
2:20 I love this part and also obviously “who wants to be king?”
Bro I watched this episode 100 times an everytime chill run down my spine I feel every bit of it
Travis fimmel as ragnar especially in this Scene and the whole 4 3/4 Seasons, was just legendary, hands down
2:41 bjorn did same walk while makin fun of joining Rollo and leaving to frankia plan damn hats down to the actor
Waa second time with Ivar
Can we all just appreciate how badass that one old viking ragnar walks up to and offers his life to looks?
You Can tell ivar idolized ragnar. He was loving ragnar being a beast in this scene
This is really one of my favorite shows I wish it didn’t end🤦🏽♂️
من أقوة المسلسلات على المر التاريخ .. Vikings
No one in the world could've done a better job playing this role. Travis was born for this role.
Only person who would of stood a chance at that time in 1v1 combat was Bjorn
Fax
Rollo tok
Too*
ragnar was old my money is on ubbe
No rollo has always been a better fighter but we all love ragnar
I will watch this scene million times...❤️❤️❤️
Me too... This scene alone much powerful than entire GOT....
SOMETIMES I REWATCH THIS SPLENDID SCENE NOT JUST FOR RAGNAR ROLE, BUT ALSO FOR BEAUTIFUL BJORN 'S ENTRANCE!
3:43
That guy already looks like he's King.
lmfAO
Because that's Geralt of Rivia
He looks like a usual barbershop fella
Takes me to another place watching this scene. Freaking bad ass.
Bjorn walked in like an absolute boss god damn
I remember thinking: Ragnar is coming back, after a very long time. I wonder how is he going to act, how is he going to convince his people? And was thinking that there is no way they are going to pull this off and the scene is going to be shit anyway. Then I watched this unfold, and was left speechless. This is genius. Travis is flawless, the writing and directing are on point, this is just too good. With Ragnar they never missed.
When real alpha steps in the room. A battleworn that everyone knows not to mess with. Seen death more than alot people. King Ragnar!!
I love the way he dances when he mocks something 😂
It's literally crazy that being an dangerous man on earth, every kingdom in the world talking about one person, and that person not even care about that... Great !...late Viking times might be collapsed and destroyed but they all had lived adventurous life that most of us wish to have💔
the soundtrack in this scene just builds so much tension....
Travis fimmel is probably the most badass viking actor that has ever graced tv
When they said they'd kill him if he returned and Bjorn just sighed😅. I knew nobody would do it🤣🤣
I don’t know why it took so long to realize but Ragnar has the signature blue combat ready eyes here. Anyone who grabbed that sword was grabbing at the valkyrie’s feathers.
He just reminds me of an angry old Wolf in this scene sniffing out his pups to see who's weak
2022 and this is still one of the best shows ever made
Man, Vikings ain´t no Game of thrones, but scenes like these can´t be found anyware else. This speach and the one he gives before his death are probably better tan any individual scene, speach or dialog of any other series in its genre.
Vikings > GOT, atleast for me.
Rohail Sheikh no, I love Vikings but there’s too many dry spots like the whole arc with Floki I hated that
It ain't it for you dude
But for many people this show beat got
@@LaggMIA if Vikings had one character arc that's annoying
Got got whole 3 messed up seasons
Always coming back to this for some reason. Legendary swedish/danish king born in Sweden
WHO WANTS TO BE KING!!!??
The way he walked around desperately trying to hand off the sword to someone it's almost as if you can see the sword as a crown the way it represents the title of being King. Phenomenal acting by the guy who played Ragnar
Harald should have been there. Be like, yup i will be king
No, he can't do that. That's why no one attack kategat after Ragnar left😂
Ahahahahhaha lol dude 😂 😂
And now this episode or skit is famous due to a TikTok remix ✊🏾✊🏾👍🏾 NEVER HEARD OF THIS SHOW but it looks very interesting

@@UnratedNetflix_ well it certainly gained a new audience cos not everyone watched the series
