      The fact that the 10k is timed doesn’t really bother me. In the dark I use the 10k to find what it is I am trying to see then it powers down to a comfortable level to look into. This light isn’t for everyone. Especially at the price point. But if you are like me and have numerous ‘throw’ lights it’s great having something like this in the collection to pull out when a dedicated thrower isn’t what you need. Personally I don’t like looking into the hot spot of a thrower at night when looking at something. So I like a very floody light with lots of spill and this little thing definitely meets my needs very well.

    10K is fun to watch but it's very short. 30 seconds will be awesome.

    Interesting but without a replacement battery for my view is a problem. This little beast would be a great backup or secondary flashlight. I’ve ordered one for my edc bag, a l30 gen2 and the tm10k will make a good pairing

  • @hobosoda4746
    @hobosoda4746 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Question, is this basically a 2k light with a 10k burst? Cannot run higher output in between?
    I also agree with you on the battery but mainly for replacement. Seems that once the battery eventually gives up you would be stuck with a very expensive paper weight.
    I do like my Nitecore lights and thank you for the great review.

      2,000 lumens is the high setting on this light if programed to do so. I have it set to 1300 lumens after playing with it longer. Thanks for watching!

      Not really impossible to replace just need a mini spot welder - there’s a few videos on how to DIY those. But with 500 cycles before then I figure the one I’ve bought should do the twenty minutes a day in winter on medium settings for the next twenty years 😀

    Not really digging the housing style but it’s definitely a bright compact light.

    Nitecore is my top 3 favorite flashlight brands, but this new tiny monster seems to me like nothing more than a prototype. At $300 the 7 second burst is a gimmick to me. I feel the 15-30 second interval would have been perfect. Even my other 3-5k lumen torches aren't in use on turbo any longer than that. I think overall it's an amazing step forward for nitecore in the lumen wars right now, but only just. The double exclamation points are probably the cheesiest part of this light.
    Also, I wish you opened her up. I'm curious as to whether or not they soldered the battery contacts into the board or if it's just a regular Panasonic or Samsung cell sitting in their.

    • @CharlesBridgTec
      @CharlesBridgTec  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its an LG 4880mAh cell that's in it. You can do more than one burst at a time. This is an amazing lights for its size which 7 seconds bursts is more than enough for most applications, I say 10 seconds would have been good but anything else would get too hot trust me. Its a good balance flood light which is so compact too! Nothing at this time can produce 10k lumens of light in its size category or even come close. No gimmicks on this model. Thanks for watching!
