Hey man love your videos! Just got a new 5x10 STV Plasma table and started the assembly this week. I’ve been using Fusion 360 to do some design for some conex build outs we are doing but haven’t really gotten great with it. Even though these videos have been around doing signs, they have shown a lot of features I’ve either used incorrectly or just didn’t use due to not knowing how or what they did…. Keep up the great videos! I sketched up my first multi layered sign after watching this video! What is your method of creating separating cut paths for the different layers? In the video, you go from multi layered sketch and jumped to all the pieces on the same plane (around the 11 minute mark of the video)? Awesome work! Cheers!

    • @SpicerDesignsLLC

    • @SpicerDesignsLLC

Yes it is. I have a file that i have laser cut for those table slats. The pointed slats are way better than the flat. Less points of contact. I just sold my last set of aluminum slats. I do have one more set of mild steel slats for $175 plus shipping

Thanks and have a great day!

As far as larger signs, i have a shop with a large fiber laser table i sub them out too. I create the file and they cut it. I found that more cost effective with material handling. I’m thinking just a small set of light changing 5 V LEDs that would give them the option of brightness, color, on/off, or motion sensor. Great job and not a bad price. Do you think its required to drill the hole for the stand offs to weld them? Couldn't you just weld them by holding them straight with another piece of steel, like a block? Then there are no grind marks on the surface and could save time. Thoughts? I get using the screw for the squareness, but can it be done without.

I know what your saying. Ive tried it that way and its a pain to get the placement perfect. Especially if you have multiple layers or pieces. The reference holes on both layers takes all the guessing out of the placement. Theres other ways to do it, thats just the way i prefer.

@@SpicerDesignsLLCthat makes sense. I could see being off only by a mm or two can make the lettering out of alignment and holes not lining up. Thanks!

How did you set all layers as separate in manufacture? You didn't show how you did it (see minute 11:16) I want to learn how you can cut all multiple layers at once. Thanks in advance!

You just right click the body and move/copy the body off to the side. You can orientate them all to cut or cut them separately.

How do the standoffs attach during final assembly? Do the just press together?
