@@SpicerDesignsLLC I don't use Inscape much anymore. I use Lightburn now. But it is almost the same. You can simplify the vectors to get a betting trace. But I still like to do some node editing.
Man you got some balls!! A job like that for your first aluminum weld job, that’s crazy! Looks like you got it figured out and it looks amazing to this point!
Hah i was getting pretty frustrated. The initial arc is what i can get o look good. Everything after that looks fine. I still have one more to make too.
You may have already researched it but, they say to have dedicated grinding pads and files and everything for aluminum weld to keep contaminates out. Clean the material extremely well and even knew stuff needs cleaned for any surface oxidation. Best of luck with it, that’s a lot of time and money right there! Oh, and does keystone girl wear a hat all the time or just for the videos?
You probably already know this by now, (but just in case), If you hold the F4 key down while you click on your part, you can rotate without using that view cube.
From Guzzi Fabrication to you, bronze or aluminum rivits ( 1/4'' rivits ? - 10'' - 12'' spacing? ).... incorperate the holes into your cad then line up and drill reinforcement holes. If you get too much penetration the weld will fall through to the face of the sign.... Rock on brother.
Nice work. When I got my spool gun for my mig, took me ages to get it to flow right, did get some nice welds eventually. I made a box gutter with mine so had to hold rain water, didn’t even leak once.
For those laid in letters itd look pretty good with LED strip light illuminating that cavity. Could alsp put lighting behind the stand off letters as well.
I agree. I try to stay away from lighting as much as i can. Especially outdoors. Theyre all made so cheap no id be getting call backs all the time. It would look good though.
@@SpicerDesignsLLC yeah that's a fair argument. Out of curiosity have you looked into the Squickmons machines? I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a Langmuir XR but recently saw them.
Like the sign. Like that you took on the job knowing you hadn't MIG welded aluminum to that point. TIG is also an option. You never had a follow up showing the completed sign! Would have liked to see it after powder coating.
Sign looks great! I'm afraid to weld aluminum! Hahaha 🤣 Miller Lite? At least she has slightly better taste in beer. 😉 If you want to try burning larger pieces, check out the NTD Racing channel, he's got an indexing video on burning larger pieces on his Crossfire Pro. Thanks for sharing your talents!
I just found this channel today and immediately subscribed. Your videos are fantastic, well above the curve on production quality and entertainment. I'm racking my brain on why you're at less than 5k subs and not up to a million by now. Please keep the content coming and subs will come as well. You just need one lucky video to go big and you'll be beating off sponsors and subscribers with both hands!
Thanks Brian. I really appreciate the comment. Im am hoping for that big break one day. I didnt end up making a part 2 unfortunately but i do have pictures of the finished product installed on our instagram page. Thanks for watching!
I'm confused. You welded the backer plate to the sign, and then the next frame it wasn't there?? And then you bolted them on after. Was that a whoopsie daisy?
@Spicer Designs it was at 9:40. You said "next I'm going to weld the backer plate over the address," and you were welding it on, and then it wasn't there. No criticism or anything, just trying to get the whole process.
Just came across your channel and subscribed. You do some pretty good work. I own a welding company but I've thought about getting into cnc work as well. I think now would be a good time to use those tools you got to make a bottle rack so you don't end up shooting a missile through your wall ;)
Thanks for subscribing! Hope your enjoying the channel. I actually have a video coming up in the next month or so to take care of the bottles. But yes i agree. Thanks for the comments.
I have langmuirs smaller table.... 4 yrs now and just about to start using it.. finally got the compressor to run it... When u upgrade to the bigger table, and if you're looking to help a person further their abilities, I'd be more than happy to accept your table😁. Just saying..
I woud definitely not have put holes in letters and weld and grind on them. Its going to look like Crape once its painted . Even if you sand with a DA sander , its still going to have a divet and look like crape. Should have just used the the spoting feature in sheetcam. Im sure you learned a valuable lesson making this sign. Good work other wise

I would import that image into Inkscape., use the trace bitmap tool. save as SVG, import into Fusion.
I agree , I do the same
Inkscape makes a dirty file. Cad is the only precise way to do it with clean vectors.

Good to see the Keystone Girl drinking the right Lattes 😂
Looks beautiful
Get Tigy with it.
you could tile and move that long plate and cut it on your own plasma
I could. It was way more cost effective to sub it out in this case. No material handling besides picking it up. Id like to just get a bigger table.
great work Kyle and Keystone girl !

If you are getting soot, more cleaning and push your weld with a 15 deg. gun angle rather than pull it. Just a bit of preheat helps big time as well.

Thank you! If you go on the community post of my channel page i left some picture of it finished. Came out awesome
Was hoping I would saw you do some
indexing on that sign. Wanted to learn something new.

Thanks. I try to make them somewhat entertaining.
Great video.
Great work guys!.. Aluminum is challenging one!
It definitely is. I should have picked a smaller job to learn on. Thanks for the comment.
Super stuff mate that is
Looked for the follow-on video... couldn't find it. Is it there?

Spoolgun should be spray transfer, not short circuit transfer. Crank up that heat and wire speed.

Mmh idk. Ill have to rewatch it. I might have done something in editing at different time frames.

nice work.
Very cool!
Thanks Tom!
What did you cover the holes with? How did it hold up to the powdercoating temps?
I filled the holes with weld. It turned out amazing. Customer was very happy. I made two of them. Ill have to post the finished product on here.
I'd tig weld it before using a spool gun lol.
You probably made enough off that sign to buy a TIG welder which would have been so much easier for welding that aluminum
You are right about that. Tig welder is next on my list

Yes. I will put some pictures on the community post. I keep forgetting about it.
Just because you stayed at a Holiday Inn last night doesn't mean you can weld aluminum on your first try. 🤑
Oh i got it. Next one will go better. Im lost on the Holiday inn part though.
