Great Video! Have you cut Aluminum with your plasma? I'm looking to cut 1/4" thick. And if so how much deburring is involved afte cut when using steel or aluminum? Thanks in advance!
Thank you. I have not cut aluminum. Ive subbed out a couple of aluminum jobs to a fiber laser. I cant imagine the deburring is any worse than steel but idk. Sorry i dont have a good answer on that.
Keep your eyes out for used compressors. I picked my 40gal 4hp US made Speedaire up for $250. Changed the oil & air filter, then added a drain valve assembly to make that easier and it's been chugging along every since.
I will do that. I really need to build a shop so i can start making some upgrades. Efficiency is definitely key to make any money on this metal work. Thanks for the comment!
I was given an Ingersol Rand 200 gallon compressor that I was going to put in my shop when I build it. It has a brand new controller and motor but I am not going to use it. Watching a few videos of used compressors exploding due to interior rust and the incredible devastation an exploding tank can cause I am now a bit paranoid about it. The tank I have could literally write off one of my irreplaceable vehicles or myself or a loved one.
pretty nice explanation! i have almost same setup. the only thing i do differently is i have a little ladder i get on to snap a picture of my table and sheet of metal. then import it in Fusion and i use it to gather all part i want to cut from the start (in the manufacture i then start by cutting the small things first). i used to cut each part individually before and someone showed me the picture trick... i thought about mounting a webcam but its easy for now to snap a picture with my phone... great video!!
Thank you for the CF pro videos.. Hard to find any videos of people using them.. Quite funny, I just finished cutting a 24" IBEW logo for a customer this week.. A bit different designed fist than yours.. Going to do a laser engrave on the outer ring instead of cut outs..
Hi, thanks for the sub. I do work for myself now doing metal work and TH-cam. The cnc work is demanding enough where i could do it full time. But you can only do so much volume as a one man shop so its hard to scale operations.

Thanks Kaleb. Glad your enjoying the videos. I have a machine torch for the razorweld now. It uses hyperthem consumables. I usually pick them up from a local welding supply shop. The handheld used the same consumables too.
Thanks Kaleb. Im glad your enjoying the videos. I have a machine torch now that uses hypertherm consumables. I usually pick them up from a local welding supply shop.
There seems to be a lot of sparks above the metal. This leads me to think the machine is either moving too fast or under powered for the torch. Is that a PTM80 Straight Torch? What size of hole in the tip? A 45A machine is not meant to run a tip in a P80 torch larger than 1.1mm.
Im not sure… this is an older video. If have to rewatch it. I have some newer videos with this table too. Actually editing a pretty cool build right now. Hopefully posting tomorrow.
