No wonder it cost me a mortgage payment for the lag screws. You put 9,000 holes in the gusset plates. I think there was less rivets on the Titanic

Hey Kyle, when you design ‘pretty much anything’ on CNC always at your right angles or any angle, put radiuses that are at least twice the thickness of the plate you are cutting. This will allow stresses to flow through the plate and not create ‘hot’ corners where cracks propagate.

most of the time, gussets for wood will just be basic a36 plate, but anything structural needs to be traced from the mill. its easy though. your material vendor will have mill certs and will provide you those mill certs when you buy the material. the special inspector on the project will ID the material and verify that the heat number matches the mill cert, and then you are good to go

Sweeet. I have been trying to hook up with the Amish in my area to do the same thing.I went to Lowes took some pics of I think they are timber lock brackets. Redrew them and made a few changes for myself. Lowes absolutely lays you away on the cost of them. The T style was $27.00 bucks. And I think the L bracket was $21.00 and they are no where near as nice and big as the ones you made. Thanks for sharing yet another awesome video and I hope you have extra o rings in your truck 😂

Uhhh... 3/8 inch is .375. But please, don't make the holes .375 for the builder's sake.
Give about. 010 to .015 clearance, so the holes should be generally .385 or .390.
