Great video and information Dan! I've proven to myself that I can not only live on a 10ft jon boat, but live happily and with a budget of less than $50 a month. Less than that really, especially if I fish more. Since proving to myself that I can live with so little and be happy in such a small boat, I know that when I get a sailboat I will be even happier. As long as she is solid, floats and sails, it'll be a dream come true. The rest of features I consider luxuries that I will gladly improve over time.
Also, if you're handy with electrical appliances, you could make a dehumidifier for the cabin that would collect water from the atmosphere at the same time. The compressor, condenser, and evaporator are pretty easily harvested from cheap old beer fridges or mini fridges.

If you ever are looking for crew for a voyage think of me! I’m 23 and live in Western Massachusetts so there’s not a lot of room for sailing without driving 2 hours away. I’ve recently taken an interest in sailing so if you’re ever up this way and need some work done on the boat I’d love to learn!
been wanting a live aboard for years, came extremely close once on a 40ft missed out on it by 3grand, if you're ever in naasau, i would love to kiteboard with ya, i know all the good spots
Just got a taste of this life when I spent a week with my friend on his off grid boat, and now I’m looking for my first sailboat. Would love to hear your thoughts on starting on the west coast of Canada, vs starting in the Bahamas. Had someone tell me it would be twice as hard, and costly to liveaboard in Canada. Also on a separate note, I run a decentralized skateboarding social media platform, where we monetize skaters content to help skaters support themselves around the world, all while just consuming skating content like we normally do. And the reason why I bring that up, is I would like to expand this model to other content, such as sailing since I’m getting into it. Would basically work as a secondary income stream like patreon, but it doesn’t necessarily require to audience to pay you out of pocket, because the content is monetized based on audience votes. Either way, loved the video, and plan to make my way through the rest of your channel.
Yeah, I can't recommend starting around B.C. compared to Florida. It's just better for a number of simple reasons. But if you wait a few years, I'll be cruising up that way! :) Sweet, shoot me an email and let's chat.

Yellowtail
Yeah probably not a 100lber. lol
Love this, subscribed! Ever been to Harbour Island, Bahamas? I spearfish from there every year around New Years. Would love to meet up sometime! It’s a great place to ring in the new year as well! I’ve also got a dock, would have to see if it’s big enough for your boat though 😂
Glad you liked it! No not yet.
This is a great share, thank you!
Glad you like it!
Thank you for the details
No problem!
awesome Dan....thank you
Glad you liked it!
God bless you in your journey
Thank you!
Great video brother, I’m heading out in the spring
Good luck with your adventure!
Right on, will do buddy.
been wanting a live aboard for years, came extremely close once on a 40ft missed out on it by 3grand, if you're ever in naasau, i would love to kiteboard with ya, i know all the good spots
Cheers buddy, sounds good.
It is interesting to get an insight into what skills you have had to master and what discipline you must have to achieve your freedom.
Indeed! Though I don't consider myself a master. :)
Finally someone that put everything I want to know into a short Video without all that buddism nonsense talk, earned my abbo!
Glad you enjoyed.
Sweet, shoot me an email and let's chat.
Amazing and I love your content and editing style! Your content is fairly different from other sailing channels
Glad you enjoy it! I try to set myself apart.
Perfect, good stuff!
Glad you think so!
Nice to have met you while you were in Fiji
I don't think that was me.
Great detailed video👏🏾👏🏾
Glad it was helpful!

This was awesome! What about big fish in the watet? Especially when you're so way out and you freedive or spear fish.. you're not scared? Do you check first? Oh and how do you travel, you can use a GPS? thanks! Me and my husband have been thinking about this and ive been wanting to start living on water and loooooove to swim and actually have to be in the water since recovering from a bad accident. Great video! Thank you!
