  • Story :-
Husband ruined entire vacation and possibly ruined the entire relationship when OP and mother-in-law have one of the biggest hatreds for each other. The drama from this story is enough to set fire to the entire video. I was astonished by how the husband handled this situation in this WILD ride of a story. Let me know in the comment section below if the husband was in the right or wrong.

    Second story:
LOL reminds me of when I worked at a Video Rental store sometime back long before Netflix and Disney Plus. Before you ask it was not a Blockbuster video, but Hollywood Video. I have to tell this story so relevant info. We also sold DVDs and Blu-rays. In this store, the DVDs were 3 for $25, and if a customer wanted to purchase the movies at a discounted price they had to buy 3, we could not scan 2 and use the 3 for $25 barcode because the computer would reject it. I say this because the Entitled Harpy of this story didn't like that if she bought a DVD it would be at the marked price of... $14.99. So what does she do? Well, keep reading...
I was working alone on the day this happened and my boss the Store director was on break. I had been working there a while so he knew I could handle it on my own. Well it was during this the lady came in and I greeted her. She seemed pleasant enough at first, but a few minutes later she came up with 2 movies. Both were priced at $14.99. I scanned both and told her the price which was when things went south. This happened a long time ago so the conversation is not word for word, but I do remember some things she said quite clearly. Anyway, the convo went something like this.
Harpy: They are supposed to be cheaper.
Me: Sorry ma'am that is if you buy three.
Harpy: But I only want 2 and they should be the reduced prices so that I can get 2.
Me: Sorry ma'am the promo only works if you pick three of the 3 for 25 marked movies.
    Harpy: I can't afford that
Me: (Confused and trying to work out the mental math) Ummm you can't afford all three movies?
Harpy: Your sign says the DVD are 3 for $25, meaning each movie should be about $8 and something cents.
Me: Yes but I cannot sell the DVD individually at that price, the promo code will not work. It only works if you buy three DVDs.
    Harpy: Can't you try it?
Me: I'm sorry ma'am but the code will not work unless three movies are already scanned. If I try to scan the code for only 2 it gives me an error message.
    Harpy: I only have $18.
Me: Sorry ma'am, if you like I can hold onto the movies for you until you come back.
At this point, the harpy is not pleased, but relents or I thought she was relenting.
Harpy: I'll just take this one then.
    Me: Alright...
I scan the one movie and give her the price.
Harpy: No actually I'll take the other one.
    Me: Oh okay ma'am.
I delete the first transaction and scan the other one, give her the price then she changes her mind again. Rinse repeat, Rinse repeat, rinse repeat....over and over and over! At this point, I am getting annoyed but never let the smile fall. I knew what she was doing, she was hoping I would knuckle under and give her both movies at reduced prices. That was never going to happen. I also knew I would need to tell my boss why our system was showing so many deleted transactions. We're not supposed to delete a transaction repeatedly. Anyway, ten minutes into Harpy changing her mind she realizes what is not happening. Then goes off on me claiming that I look like I have an attitude. Not sure where she got that idea from the smile never left my face nor did I say anything to indicate that I was getting annoyed, I just kept doing as she asked. Anyway, this was where I clearly remember what she said.
Harpy: I want to talk to your manager you are rude to customers with your attitude.
Me: (Confused) I'm sorry ma'am I am not sure what you mean.
Harpy: You know what I mean that attitude you're giving me. I have worked in customer service for years. You clearly should not be working in customer service with that attitude! Now I want to speak to your manager!
Me: I'm sorry ma'am but he is on break and not here.
Harpy: Fine, I'll be back later to talk to him about your attitude. You should not be working in customer service.
From there she demanded I hold her movies for her and then left, but after that display, I immediately put the movies back once she was gone. I only hold movies for decent customers. She showed she was never descent and when my boss come out of the break room from the back I immediately told him about the incident and why I had a list of deleted transactions. I don't remember precisely what the deleted transactions did but I knew it was always bad to have to delete or cancel a transaction. Anyway, my boss being the awesome dude he was knew what Harpy tried to pull and called our corporate office to inform them of the incident in case she called to complain about me. From there I was sent on break and was later told Harpy did come back and was told she was no longer welcome at our store. I know it's different than story 2, but the whole 'You should not be working in customer service' line reminded me of Harpy. It's funny how entitled a-holes claim that when they should not be allowed in stores period because of THEIR poor disgusting behavior and entitlement.

Story 2: I bet the ring she was flashing at OP wasn’t even earned by that old witch through her ‘hard work’ but her HUSBAND! He was the one working hard to EARN the money to buy that ring. Going by her attitude I’d question his judgement in character/women; and I hope he isn’t still with her but I doubt it, poor guy.

@Leslie Zin Thank you for sharing your story. What I'm about to say is not meant to be rude or sound like I'm complaining about it.
I didn't realize how long your story was until I was done reading and scrolling thru it. Lol I didn't realize it because I was able to visualize all of it. I worked in retail, customer service, and receptionist positions from the age of 16 and I definitely dealt with what seemed like more than my fair share of customers with complaints, crappy attitudes, and unrealistic requests. All of that to say, I sympathize with you. You did a great job keeping your cool and not giving in to her all while keeping a smile on your face. Again, thank you for sharing.

I had an amazing MIL too, absolutely loved and adored her and thoroughly enjoyed her company. My husband of 19 years would tease me about how scared I had been to meet her. He was right, I had been very nervous. My one consolation had been the belief that if the son loved and took great care of his Mom, chances were high she was a great parent and would be easier to get along with.
Anyways, this hasn’t been the reason why I had wanted to post on your comment. It’s all because I had gotten lucky and had asked my MIL all of the recipes that my boyfriend at the time enjoyed. This had been one of the many reasons why we had gotten along so well, we both enjoyed cooking and reading recipe books. I know, weird right? But to the both of us, we claimed it was relaxing, especially in the evening after a long day.
I don’t know if you’ve already asked and done this, but I’d like to encourage you to write down all of her favorite recipes as well as your husband’s. I would also encourage her to tell her stories of being younger and growing up in the years she’s witnessed herself and her thoughts on everything from politics (who the presidents were in her life), dating, family life and everything you can think of. Afterwards, write it all down when it is fresh in your memory. This would be such a lovely gift to your children and anyone whose hearts she had touched. And, this is the one thing I have regretted on not doing with my parents and other important relatives in my life, like my own grandparents.
I wish you many more wonderful years with your MIL 💐
Be well and stay smiling, life is good 🎈

Entitled Karens really don't give a fuck! In their minds, if they say your lazy, then your lazy! Why do you think everytime they smugly boast about taking your job and the manger tells them to piss off they always cry and threaten to get you and the manger fired! How they do it shows how self-centered, full of themselves and "having too much time on their hands" they are (the last part for only entitled elderly! Means they succeed in making EVERYONE in their life hate them so too bad "it's your problem at the moment!") if they threaten, but never do so! Then it shows their all bark! If they do so, then they
Plus for all we know, her husband (dead or alive) worked hard to give her that ring and she never worked a day in her life! Being exactly the lazy she claims OP is! Her kind PROJECT this towards "the help" cause they want to distance themselves from their past "being the Help before their Prince Charming pulled them out of poverty!" Your lazy is just them mad that your not a perfect robot ready to service her no matter what! In her case, OP should have told everyone to "Wait" SHE'LL be the one serviced first!" and treat her like a Queen! Her smugness only cost her returning service (I'm sure she was told this before told to fuck off! Or she was told before she was even allowed into the theater and OP never saw her! Best thing for him since she'd likely "diarrhea mouth" him on how it's all his "lazy" fault she can't see the movies anymore! Despite it being hers, but "Karen" they never accept responsibility for their actions! They're too weak-willed despite coming off as strong willed to hide their cowardice! Notice how many of them start shrieking the moment they sense danger! Despite doing everything like they WANT trouble! Showing they're hoping to shock and surprise people into not knowing what to do with dealing with them till it bites them in the ass! Why many have their kids with them, keeping them close to be convenient shields as they always abandon them to save themselves!)

First story: After the divorce, the Ex-Husband soon found himself newly single. Comforting words from his mother does set him at ease. Everything she said made him feel better. After a while, the Newly Divorced Man decided to dip back into the dating pool once again. Hopefully find someone better than his ex-wife.
Someone who would get along with his mother.
So far, there was no luck.
One date lasted about a month before ghosting him. Well, that one was rude.
Next, was barely into at least half a month.
    Then a week.
...Then measly few hours after meeting his mother.
Soon, he found himself as middle-aged, tending to his ailing mother that is now bed-ridden. He tends to linger on couples happily talking in their own world, or families spending a day together.
"When are you going to get married?" His mother asked for the umpteenth time.
Never before he knew that he couldn't find an answer to that.
He wished that he would ask his siblings...but they had long cut both him and his mother once they have moved out of the house one by one. He didn't know if any of them were married. Or had families of their own. He had no way to contact them, scouring on the internet.
Then by chance, he came across his ex-wife's profile on social media.
Smiling happily with a man that he would assume as her current husband.
    They looked...so blissful.
When was the last time she had smile like that when she was with him?

The last story really makes me mad. I have six grandchildren 3 of which have immune system problems. One of the three had to be resuscitated 3 times at the hospital after she was born due to week lungs. If I have even the sniffles I won't go anywhere near any of them so they don't get sick. How can any grandparent that loves their grandkids do anything to put them in danger.

Don't be the third wheel in your own marriage OR your own family. If your family wants to keep HIM instead of you, then it's THEIR loss girl. Change your locks and get an annulment if possible. Story 1 : Run for the hills! I should have done that 35 years ago. My MIL is so mean. Yesterday she berated me for my weight for what seemed like forever. Finally I started cr;ying and no one cared! They were all there when it was going on. This has been going on for over 35 years! She goes on almost every vacation we've ever taken. Whenever I suggest we take another vacation for just the 2 of us, she cries no fair. One year for mother's day I bought her a gorgeous pot of different plants. The pot was black. She accused me of stealing if from the cemetery. A couple of weeks before my husband. and I got married. She tried to bribe me to not marry him. According to my husband, I "take her too seriously, she's just messing around". Run

I was working for a bookstore, there was so many procedures you have to follow, it takes to long when a customer wants to write a check. I have to make sure that they had not given the bookstore a bad check in the past. One woman came up I ring her up, she takes out her check book. I have to look on the computer to make sure that she was not on the list.
The woman threated to hit me. I continued to finish up the transaction and wished her to have a good day.
Six months later, she was in line again, lucky for me, another cashier was free to ring her up. She told the cashier that she wanted to come behind the counter to beat me up, if I was the one to ring her up again.
I did not know how to respond to the woman's threat. The main manager at the time would not defend me, none of the other temporary cashiers that heard the woman's threats went to get our accounting manager. Our accounting manager was in charge of the cashiers.
The main manager gave me a bad report because the woman threated to hit me. In other words, I had a strike against me, on my way to be fired.
Six months later, the main manager was fired.

    • @NowArtfromChristine
      @NowArtfromChristine ปีที่แล้ว

You should not of had a strike against you. No employee should be held accountable for the asshole customers of the world. I would have been fired a million times over when I was a cashier if that was the case. Some customers are vicious and mean on purpose because people working in the service industry are easy targets. I had one lady kick a nearby garbage can in a rage because I had to pause to get more change for my register and she felt it was taking too long. It wasn't even 3 minutes, and she couldn't even be patient for even that long. You had a bad manager.

I guess for me viewing some of your videos, and seeing how some of these family drama's play out. how is it in the USA and in our collective culture for that matter, that families behave is such a way, I mean with such a great amount of entitlement or treating one family member better over another. I guess I am truly truly amazed, shocked, stunned and sometimes horrified that we as a society that toxic behavior has somehow bubbled up to the surface. that parents favor one child over another, or even when a grown man is still a "MAMMA'S BOY" and that the spouse/partner is left feeling that they are not #1 in the marriage/relationship because the husband practically put's his MOMMY on a pedestal, and that MOMMY can do no wrong with any of her actions and/or behavior. Or when there are issues involving money, such as inherited wealth that given to a specific person or persons. And that some entitled family member should have had been given a portion or even a greater amount of the inheritance because the family member felt entitled to it for what ever BULLSHIT reasons that they have in their mind. But over all, how is it now in the 21st. century we have this TOXIC WASTE of behaviors and actions rearing it's ugly head in all human society today?

Story 3. Son & DIL live next door. They just had our 1st grandbaby. My hubby was over next door checking on her while pregnant, asking if need anything etc. It was decided he would be the 1 person allowed at hospital because I honestly think he was more excited than anyone. We all isolate as much as possible. Son only one leaving house to go to work. We're retired. Baby 1 month old & her mom asks her to bring baby over (she lives alone). She gets there & house is full plus 10 dogs. DIL is doesn't let anyone hold baby but mom.
Few days later around 1am DIL calls freaking, baby sick. Children's hospital hour away & I go with. SHE TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID. Turns out her mom knew people were sick but "they wanted to see baby". We all got tested few days later (no symptoms) & I was only one negative.

Story 1. I am in the agreement that OP needs to divorce her mama's boy husband. He thought that he could steam roll over OP if he presented his mother going at the last minute and was furious when his plan didn't work. He sneakily violated OP's trust and overstepped a clear boundary she put in place. This marriage is not salvageable because he will continue his sneaky behavior to get his way anytime OP says no to his precious mama. Story 2. Glad the manager stood up for OP and gave the entitled grandma what she deserved. Story 3. Grandpa should lose his visitation to his grandchildren for the foreseeable future due to his lack of good judgement in putting the children especially a newborn baby at risk .
