In one of my more recent videos I finished up the exhaust. Just straight piped all the way back to a bed dump and it's actually pretty quiet. The turbo on the other hand is extremely loud, tons of spool noise
I'm putting a turbo set up in my 51 chevy truck with the same set up engine and trans.. what ar is your turbo rated and what rpm does your boost start coming in at?
I was planning on turboing my truck and running the stock 4l60 and eventually upgrading to a 4l80 but now I'm low key thinking of going TH400 just to do something different.
4l60e's are weak. Get either of the other transmissions because I had my 4l65e for 1 week and it blew out 3rd gear. Go for the added protection of the bigger transmissions. The th400 doesn't have overdrive which sucks, so I went with the 80e instead

If you got the time it would be really cool to see some type of walkthrough video of it. I was debating on doing that myself but had no idea where to route the piping or how to do a lot of the other things!
You’re gonna blow up that 4l60 so quick lol, I destroyed my 4l60e after about 10 months of having a swapped built 5.3 with a cam, get a 4l80 or a 6l80 it will save you money long term.
Not needed at all you can rebuild the 4l60e up to 1000 plus hp. There are a wide variety of rebuild kits available to do it and shift kits. Will last you just fine, just don’t cheap out like most do on the rebuild kit.
@@MichelLinschoten Agreed, you can build a 4L60E to take abuse. Mine has latest for over 8 years since the rebuild and we just updated the cam and valve train to refresh the engine.

Haha the place I worked at at that time I did 3x12 hour days and the 4th day I only worked 4-6 hours. The schedule was cool but the place was a $hithole

Untouched stock ones. I still havent gone wide open yet. Gonna decap stock injectors or get Bosch 210s pretty soon
What do you think or expect the longevity of the motor will be?
On 8lbs it should live a very long time. But I'll get bored and turn it up and probably window the block this summer and then put a 6.0/4l80 in it lol
