Letting everyone know, DON'T EVER do this to any bird, you can put the bird into shock like this one is or even crush its lungs because birds breathe by expanding their bodies; when you forcefully grab it like he did, IT CAN DIE.
I don't understand why so many people have such blatant disregard for animals. Seeing how people are responding to comments raising concern is just depressing.
When I was 10 years old, my grandfather and I had no money and in order to fill out bellies we started catching the neighbors doves and pigeons and eat them. Well for a whole week before we were only eating salt and soy sauce sauteed to with coconut worms(rhinoceros beetle larva) that live under the pile of rice stalks. But when it ran out too we had to eat the doves. We tried dogs and or cats but we were scared of getting rabies. We didn't wanna beg in the city because we have principles and are not that desperate to stopp that low. That was also during the times my parents didn't have no money but they were fortunate because they were in the countryside during the inflation that time while we lived in the suburbs and were lucky to even find those worms in the nearby small lot of rice paddies. Don't wanna ever experience that ever again
Don’t do that, the dove can get scared to death since birds are easy to get scared. It would of think it was a predator trying to grab him from his back. Look at it, it’s frighten and it’s tryna escape.
Lil birbs can get scared when you grab em, but as long as you grab them carefully (not by it's back like that) and show them you aren't gonna hurt them or just let them go they should be alright. @@AshXSnoon88 atleast a cat didn’t maul it. the guy in the video kinda did the dove a favor… i do think he could’ve just shooed it away instad of grabbing it though.
@@gink_ie yeah i too assumed that, it doesn't seem like he wanted to harm the lil guy(i know its a female) so I don't think he held her that strong and i think the bird would stress more if he was really harming it. honestly he probably held her in the perfect balance cause if she was too loose she would move a lot and get out, if she was too squeezed she would probably squeak a lot and try biting and moving but she was pretty calm. i would say even more, the fallen feathers must be a relief if she was molting so tho the rough morning he gave her, he helped her in a way too and i think it's better to be awakened by this guy and not by some hungry stray cat or dog so yeah, i think she good
@@hellishgrims251 no, they can but this dove definitely chose a wrong place for that. an open spot a cat can easily spot it on or even rats or in my case we sometimes have owls at night so doves, pigeons and other small birds have to be always careful to not fall asleep at an open space, she's a lucky dove if she survived the night like this, or they just don't have a lot of predators there. tho i think the most dangerous of all is probably us out of all.. i still remember reading a story where teens put petards inside a stray dogs pups and throw them around or something.. i don't remember correctly cause i read this a long time ago but there were petards in someones mouth and there were puppies and their mother... obviously they didn't really get punished i think.. anyways a birds life is a hard one. fun fact, if you hear a bird singing at night like between 10pm and 3am it's cause of city stress - they may have been too close to some very loud roads or loud places in general thus not being able to hear even themselves or other birds because of the noise in some cases. so they have this night song to let the air out when it's the quietest... tho they at the same time become a very easy target in the dark.. their eyes are a little less adapted to the dark compering to ours so at around 8pm(at summer. for winter probably around 6pm) it's already pitch black for them and it's hard to make a good image of the surroundings. (now.. i just want to apologies for this article of a comment..it's 2am right now and i am at the state where i can't shut up myself or my thoughts so i just typed everything i got at once.. I'm sorry if you read this far down.. i hope you'll have a good sleep tho the text, or a wonderful day depending on what time is it for you.. )
That dove is probably sick and have weakened senses, or else it would have noticed you right away and have flown. The falling feathers could be an indication of it being not in proper health, could be in the process of changing feathers. You cant catch a healthy dove that way, its senses are way faster than yours.
@@furrydisliker-d2l the best thing you can do is feed it nutritious seeds and give it water with vitamins mixed in it. With proper rest it can recover, though it's rare for birds to get back in normal state especially if they've been sick for longer than 2 to 3 days. Immediate care is required. They're too fragile.
I can't tell if this mourning dove was sick or just very used to humans... Usually their heads pop up and they take off when someone approaches them like that. Most city birds don't mind people all that much, but if a country dove isn't scared of humans, that's a really bad sign. Also, when a dove makes a "hee" noise like this one did when he was caught, that's their "I'm in danger" cry. Thank you for letting him go and not hurting him.

Wrap the breast in bacon with a jalapeño and throwit on the grill.
My favirote time is when the dove said “hoo😢”
For a second Lil Dove was like “damn it’s really over” 😂
Don’t do that, the dove can get scared to death since birds are easy to get scared.
Edit: Well yeah, grabbing it like that is not ok considering how scared birds can get. Don't grab a bird like that.
@@oldchannelawhellnahThey can go in shock and die. Also we don't know if he hurt it or not because he suddenly grabbed it from above which you should NEVER do!

Oh that bird’s squeak. You were rough man, all those feathers coming off
Or it could just be molting! Some loose feathers couldve just been chillin in all the other ones. I'm hoping it's that haha
@@gink_ie yeah i too assumed that, it doesn't seem like he wanted to harm the lil guy(i know its a female) so I don't think he held her that strong and i think the bird would stress more if he was really harming it.
honestly he probably held her in the perfect balance cause if she was too loose she would move a lot and get out, if she was too squeezed she would probably squeak a lot and try biting and moving but she was pretty calm.
i would say even more, the fallen feathers must be a relief if she was molting so tho the rough morning he gave her, he helped her in a way too and i think it's better to be awakened by this guy and not by some hungry stray cat or dog so yeah, i think she good
By surprising her like this he is actually helping sharpen her survival instincts. Next time she'll be ready for potential dangers.
@@julyacherep9021can birds never sleep then?:(
@@hellishgrims251 no, they can but this dove definitely chose a wrong place for that. an open spot a cat can easily spot it on or even rats or in my case we sometimes have owls at night so doves, pigeons and other small birds have to be always careful to not fall asleep at an open space, she's a lucky dove if she survived the night like this, or they just don't have a lot of predators there.
tho i think the most dangerous of all is probably us out of all.. i still remember reading a story where teens put petards inside a stray dogs pups and throw them around or something.. i don't remember correctly cause i read this a long time ago but there were petards in someones mouth and there were puppies and their mother... obviously they didn't really get punished i think..
anyways a birds life is a hard one.
fun fact, if you hear a bird singing at night like between 10pm and 3am it's cause of city stress - they may have been too close to some very loud roads or loud places in general thus not being able to hear even themselves or other birds because of the noise in some cases. so they have this night song to let the air out when it's the quietest... tho they at the same time become a very easy target in the dark.. their eyes are a little less adapted to the dark compering to ours so at around 8pm(at summer. for winter probably around 6pm) it's already pitch black for them and it's hard to make a good image of the surroundings.
(now.. i just want to apologies for this article of a comment..it's 2am right now and i am at the state where i can't shut up myself or my thoughts so i just typed everything i got at once.. I'm sorry if you read this far down.. i hope you'll have a good sleep tho the text, or a wonderful day depending on what time is it for you.. )
THE DOVE LOOKED SO INNOCENT AND CUTE edit : thanks for the likes lol-
That dove is probably sick and have weakened senses, or else it would have noticed you right away and have flown. The falling feathers could be an indication of it being not in proper health, could be in the process of changing feathers. You cant catch a healthy dove that way, its senses are way faster than yours.
how do you even heal a dove that's sick?
He said it was sleeping, I was confused how the dove wasn't reacting too, animals like it have 360 vision
