I noticed that they didn't throw it near below. May it was for a safety reason, not to disclose their residence or may be nature wants us to know, not to litter around livings 😊

Awesome!! We had a mourning dove nest in the rafter of our covered porch, in northern Virginia. I unfortunately didn't see the nest until it was built, but for a month this patient mama (we only saw the papa once) sat stock still. Then we saw the little chicks. And only a week or two later all had flown the nest! We still saw the chicks around our house, a day later!
Cute innocent adorable bird.. They are sweet couple.. So loving male is.. brought so many twigs helping his wife to improve the nest.. So nice to see their love and care for each other and dedication for the babies..
I have a pair of doves living in the tree right by my usual coffee spot. Theyve definitely been incubating, the nest is always occupied no matter how much noise im making cant wait to come out one morning and hear the little babies chirping.
The male sits on the nest during the day and the female lays on the nest in the evening and all night they bring food and materials while there laying on the eggs its so cute to see this they mate for life such romantic birds its amazing they feed there chics milk very cool
So cute!! I have a set of doves that come back every year all year to nest in my tree...I cannot trim the tree in fear of disturbing them. They are precious and I love to watch them have their babies and see the babies grow and fly off to make their own families.
I once drove home during a severe thunderstorm, I mean epic proportions of wind, rain, thunder and lightning. All I kept thinking about was the mourning dove nest in the front lawn. Next morning, the nest was still intact with the momma dove still sitting on her clutch. She raised two more broods after that one!
Such peaceful and gentle little creatures. So smart to carry away the empty shells as to not let predators know there is a nest above by just pushing it out of the nest below.
Thank you for posting this! I found random eggshells in my garden and this video shed light on where they may have come from! (There are plenty of mourning doves in my neighborhood)
Aww how cute! I now have two doves living above my front door porch and they so cute making coo sounds already raised 2 chicks this early season and they got big and flew off. I miss them already. But they are back and think they maybe are nesting two more eggs not sure yet I don't dare disturb them. I'm afraid they may fly off and not return, and if they already have eggs up there I don't want them to abandon them and they die.
We have morning doves at my old job they been a mated pair for years every year we would find their nesting spot and they would let us peek in on them. A year ago the store shut down as the owner was still selling the store it was a plant shop I feel like Mr and Mrs.Love will be back this spring to have more babies . I kiss watching them.
I had a pair of these doves nest under the eaves of a roof I was about to replace. Found other things to work on for a MONTH until they left. Bastards! But so cute.
I'm a delivery driver who covers a radius of 140 miles from my work shop on any given day of the week. A pair of doves have decided to nest on my truck for the past 3 1/2 weeks. I drive on 70 mph interstate as well as 55 mph St. highway and city streets, from 5:00 AM to 4: 00PM. This bird will not leave its nest till I return to my shop, at witch point the mate takes over the the nest so the other can do it's business.I 've been trying to do my best not to disrupt the nest, I just wish they would finish the job and move on.
I have a momma dove on my porch I’ve been giving her food while she’s keeping the babies safe and checking on them daily to make sure everything’s okay I DONT TOUCH THE NEST NOT EVEN SLIGHTLY but I Jove my selfie stick over it with my phone to check on the eggs once a week to make sure there isn’t anything bad goin on I’m so excited for them to hatch they are such good parents to their babies it’s so sweet

I currently have the same situation on my balcony. It will be a week tomorrow. She laid 2 eggs and had been sitting on then ever since. It has been raining hard. She decided to lay 2 eggs on our mint plant pot. It's cute hopefully the babies don't fall of the plant pot... :)
This is their 3rd time laying eggs. First time due to rain only one hatched. Second time both babies hatched. Third had not hatched yet. Do put out some bird seeds if you have them or rice. :)
Well today is day number 14 on some mourning doves that built their nest in my staghorn fern on the Spagnum is nice and soft there’s 6 inches from where I open my sliding glass door and so far in the two weeks only one time did they fly away being nervous. I try my hardest not to look at them when I leave the door so they feel safe. I’m excited to see the babies hatch.
Everyone keeps talking about the female, but male doves sit on the eggs also. The female sits at night and early morning, and the male sits for the better part of the day.
now i can finally give answers to what i see everyday across my kitchen window...there's this dove which keeps on nesting and laying eggs in one corner and it became my habit to watch its behaviour..and yes i often see its mate helping it same as in this video...i have also seen chicks growing up until they leave the nest...there's one behavior though that baffles me..normally the dove lays too eggs and hatches both but for some reason only one chick survives and the other dies....there was even one hatching time when both chicks died....wow, i have became a bird watcher now...thank you covid-19 for the quarantine which me see things around me LOL!
I have 2 birds nesting on my satellite dish in back garden. Today i found a broken white egg underneath. I'm not entirely sure if there is beginnings of a life in there, or the egg has hatched. It's possible mum or dad might of accidentally knocked it out of the small nest it's in, flying in and out.I'm hoping it's the latter as it wouldn't survive on it's own in this cold weather and i was unable to relocate it back as too high for me. I've placed the egg on top of the hedge and keeping my fingers crossed for the mum and dad to successfully hatch any left . Goodluck little fledgling's!!🙏
