Hey Cap. I just started playing DCS and i must say, of all the channels on youtube, this channel is my go-to channel for f18 tutorials. So keep up the good work!!
In the Vertical Scissors, there's the effect mentioned in the Art of the Kill as "the hand of God" (or simply gravity) pushing down both planes and because of that, each one of the pilots will have their advantages, BUT, that will only come when they're "the high guy". Gravity will help him put his nose down on the enemy before the low guy can bring his nose up for the shot, just as experienced by both Cap and Signore in the last demonstration.
Excellent video! This is missing in DCS, after a few tutorials for take-off, landing and weapons, you are left to yourself to be shot at in dogfights without understanding anything about it. They should do modules specific for BFM with theses green gates in the sky to learn and practice.. I would buy it!
What I do, and something I learned from Ace Combat is to combine horz.+vert. scissors w/ slow & fast speed and Pugachev's Cobras/High Yo-Yos now and then. To escape a scissor is to do a jinx in any direction away from opponent to then re-engage. My dog-fighting style is improvisional, so the recaps look like a art form.
Great video. The one thing that could've made it a little more informative is for you to display a live view of what exact controls/movements/throttle changes/key strokes are being used at the moment the aggressor/defender is making their maneuvers.
Hello. A recent subscriber of yours. I just got back to flight simming after I skipped a couple of years (~5-6). I used to have a TIR5 back then but I sold it. I am waiting for my EDTracker to arrive at the moment. I love dogfighting and basically all A-A encounters and I realized not having a head tracker is just not the same thrill as before. Anyways, I really appreciate your videos about DCS, there are lots of information and stuff that I have to learn or re-learn and you do it in a fun, informative way. Keep it up mate :)
I don’t think I’ll ever fly a real plane and I just got this as a random suggestion but wow it’s so interesting and this guy is easy to listen to. I wonder if there is a community for this
So good explaining, so good filming and showing how it's working, what is the main objective in dog fight. Thank You so much for sharing these priceless information for free. Actually after this video I'am the devil in dog fights. Thank You very much. Peace to You, and your families.
...like 2 sine waves out of phase....you must be an Electrician (like myself) or Electrical Engineer. Anyway wanted to say Thank you! Very Informative, and Much Appreciated!!
Well, FINALLY that pretty old (but gold) video lession that came with the original copy of the Falcon 4.0 simulator, "Art of the Kill" is becoming outdated - while still excellent - source of theoretical knowledge on dogfights. Now we can have AMAZING Grim Reapers style demonstrations for learning pilots.
thanks, this is exactly the kind of vid I’ve been looking for. AI guys seem to find my 6 and stay there. Is this the free version of Tacview or did you register?
Is there a video with a list of the software you use. I know DCs has a replay function which means it saves the missions so I'm wondering what software do you use to make anlysis post mission and get those trajectories and force vectors and so on. What are you using to visualize the flights?
This was one of the best DCS videos ever made. Really appreciate the effort.
Pleasure

But after the jinking, you need to clean up all the vomit.
lol plan

Welcome back Sir
19:07 please stand by
I thought it was my internet!!! Hahahahah
The book Fighter Combat Tactics and Maneuvering has a section about Gun defense, but I find your tutorial a bit more helpful. thx
Tiramisu Corleone agreed. I have that book as well, and these videos help flesh out the tactics.
Every single day, I'm more grateful and thankful for SuperCAP and the GR team...

there is and btw its DCS world a sim
Fantastic video, educational and informative. Made a dramatic improvement in my game play. I pulled of a few barrel rolls, which was thrilling.
the quality of explanation here is next level.. thank you so much!
The timestamps could be fixed a bit. From 9:21-12:52 it's not the 'Jink' move, but a 'High Yo-Yo'. Thank you for the video as always!
These are exactly what I need. Thanks again!
Great stuff. Love this new series!!

Another useful Vid, Cap! Good job. Best, Pete.

Great to have dozens of sources from which to learn info like this. Good explanation. Some day I'll get it 😆
Very nice explanations, old on FSX but new on DCS. Amazing material, thanks!
I understand how to scissor a guy but how do you spoon a guy?
Insightful! Very well done!
Wonderful video! Thank you so much. A very enjoyable experience.
That dedication, great job again! Thanks
Super vidéo Grim Thanks
max i did in su 27 AOA is 88* and still maintain control afterwards.
Thank this really helped I have to go to war in a week but now I can actually get a kill
Outstanding!

Love the Art of the Kill, classic
You're amazing reaper😘😘😘😘
Hey cap, can you make the tacview "trackingline" longer. It'd help to see whats happening in the scissors
good idea
Thx it's very useful!👍👍😁
thanks, this is exactly the kind of vid I’ve been looking for. AI guys seem to find my 6 and stay there. Is this the free version of Tacview or did you register?
free
Cap is taking mil sim seriously. Now he is using acronyms. Soon Cap will be "Cap Sec" LOL!
lols

Great tutorial! Are the tacview files available for studying the maneuvers more in depth? Thanks!
neg sorry
I just went from 0 bfm knowledge to like, a ton
Great video
just like a movie...
why was there no shooting at 18:28? couldn't blue have shot red?
Sweet :)
Can I apply this to my Jet play on GTA, since being there is a first person camera view for dog fights.
Noob question but is this all done with only the stick and throttle. So no air break or anything else being used?
1:25 what does aft stick mean?
Would 2 female pilots fighting be considered a "cat fight" ?,
Only if their flight suits are sexy skimpy bikinis.
hi-g is best
I was almost sleep across the lesson,,, it was good explaination ,just sounds like schools explaination
It’s a study simulator. This is as fun as studying gets
Instructions unclear, lost the spell card battle.
what the hell is an aft-stick
can i train this on su-33?
I’m going to try these in battlefield 4
using this in vtol vr
do i need to buy a joystick or is my keyboard enough
You can start with keyboard, but to do anything serious you do need a proper HOTAS.
@@grimreapers alright, i'll look for a decent joystick. thanks
Me high barrel roll and then spinning dead 😂
Look up Pugachevs Cobra
I think he knows it dude
@@magic-or-whatever thanks for this dude, even though it’s 4 years late.
Will these work for the A10c in DCS?
In theory, as long as opponent is similar to A10.
@@grimreapers ok, thanks, and if it’s a fast fighter jets then your basically done for unless you get em head on
Why didn’t you show how to perform the movements? Now we know what it does, but not how to do it.
LOL I would not dogfight under 140 knots since you are a sitting duck for another opponent that may try to press a fight on you.
19:22 the editor needs to be fired... for these outtakes not labeled as outtakes
Cant see what he's doing cuz of the x in the box.
