On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

Hey why don't they put the anti missile laser on the su57 it has? No other fighter jet has it except air force one. They just put it on the ka 42 attack heli and they fired 18 stingers and we're unable to hit it. I mean I guess it would make it in fun to deal with but it was like playing with Pavel Bure in NHL 97. He could just skate through entire team and score almost instantly

It probably was developed from the 90s 😂 jokes aside, i havent seen a lot of images or documentation from the su57 cockpit compared to nato planes though
It is under development. A dedicated team was working on it but it stopped a few months ago, so CA is now on it's own for both coding and texturing... And as you can guess the priority isn't a good looking cockpit
The engine sound in the cockpit also sounds like "at times" a fly-by
as you can imagine, a classified russian 5th gen fighter isnt exactly easy to get hands on data on lol

Why? Cuz it has a 400k dollars helmet with everything you need, that is your HUD, and it also lets you see thru the plane itself due to cameras installed all over the aircraft

@myronplatte8354 The Su-57 also has a framed canopy, so I'm still very skeptical about its stealth, even if the exposed screws were only a prototype thing.

Another question: can real aircraft switch to missile guidance mode without having a missile fired? To trigger a launch warning without wasting a missile?
STT lock is not the same. I mean in theory it should be possible for the lauching aircraft; and impossible for the targeted aircraft to know if there is a missile in the air.

@@slowhornet4802 probably not because the launch warning comes from the rwr sensing that something is tracking you but also getting closer to you at a rapid rate.
@@SOAP2401 But a semi-active missile wouldn't emit, it's just the launching aircraft's radar changing modes, triggering the launch warning.
GS has the situational awareness of a god. How he can know what is safe, what is dangerous, and when to expect to live, die, or win is beyond me. I’m sure it just takes practice, but so much of this BVR stuff is just crazy….
I got it see the EF-2000 typhoon and F35B over the weekend and an UK airshow, and it was honestly amazing!

The attitude indicator typically works differently on Russian and Western aircraft. I remember that some Russian pilots crashed a plane because of that.
Just witnessed the f35 and f22 at the airshow. Just staggering to see them fly.
Their movements in the Z axis are mesmerizing. Float like a butterfly... and swat you out of the sky!
I saw some F-35s fly last week at the 100 years anniversary of the italian air force airshow, and god damn the sound of their engines is amazing, you can definetly feel that its the strongest single engine installed in any plane ever

Great mastery on the Felon gameplay, GS. Considering my 28th mention about the MiG-29 vs this jet you used, I'm thinking if you can fly the MiG-29 against the Su-57. Both have technological differences but are maneuverable in a dogfight, so I thought if you can engage in a BVR combat against it with/without firing radar missiles, you will end up in a final merging boss fight to prove again the belief that "it's not the plane, it's the pilot." I hope you can reach this out from me because I commented this repeatedly. Great flying!

I’ve never seen an F35 win any kind of battle. DCS pretty much condemned it from the get go.
Problem is that so much of the F35 is still classified. We just guessing what it can do.

Definitely feel like in all the F35 videos it doesn't perform at all what we see the F35 do now.. they're more like the first blocks with all the limitations lol
Plus they don’t have any of the fancy defensive gadgets like that pod it can deploy behind it that mimics it’s own radar signature
What if DCS is just a big fishing pot to try to get people to compromise capabilities with retarded videos like this one where Su-57 is detecting and tracking an F-35 at BVR, firing R-77-1 at BVR with perfect solutions, as if the tiny RCS wasn't even there.

Notice you can hear the same whining sound while flying in the cockpit too, it repeats every couple seconds at times.
@@ashhawk2346 Since its a new model, I believe its a bug that must be fixed. Its quite a specific sound which is only audible when you are standing outside and the aircraft passes by

The standard Surface to Air doctrine for US Navy ships for inbound threats is "Shoot, Shoot, Look, Shoot". Thats a 2 Missile Salvo, Wait and look for a kill confirmation, if target remains, shoot again.
It would be so cool if there was a simulator for the Falklands 1982 as my dad was there for the Royal field artillery. There was air to air, ground and ship battles.👍

@@stephencollins9062showtime 112 has videos on those dog fights. The Argentine aircraft didn't even have Radar. And when they didn't need it, their missiles were rear aspect only.

Well I’ll be perfectly honest, I’m a dogfight junkie, and the F-35 is a hybrid of A/G support, and weapons employment from a long range. I don’t like the C variant’s lack of a cannon and I like planes that can dogfight, the F-35 is a manned stealth UAV in the shape of a stealth fighter.

It's the markup up modern warfare. A stinger missle cost already an insane 80k per in the 80's. It's over 400k now with little improvements
Meeh... on the modeling. The horizontal gyro isn't even working. What do you do IFR ? Just started checking out DCS. Could figure the planes out, but can't figure out how to really get it all up and running, I'm a dinosaur, but I can get it with a little direction. Maybe soon. Somebody needs to sneak a 152 model in that does mach 4 and shoots missles BVR. That would be interesting to watch.

Area where SAMs are able to provide cover is called the Missile Engagement Zone (MEZ)

Huge fan of the su-57. Kinda perplexed because people wanted to see GS use the f35 when i find it odd when dcs youtubers dont use their skill in opposing aircraft. Obviously we'll never know the true stats of both aircraft but lets enjoy what we can get
most of his viewers are probably american so thats why but i feel like he mostly plays in the us aircraft so its a nice change of pace

Any chance you could ever do a HARM launch against an aircraft? In the 1st Gulf War, an F-4 fired a HARM at Iraqi ground radars, but the missile got 'distracted' by the radar of a nearby B-52, targetted the american bomber instead and blew its tail off. I'd LOVE to see if DCS has little details like this, where the powerful radars of the F-15 or the F-22 are powerful enough to act as beacons for a HARM, passively homing in on its radar emissions.
I'm not even sure how it would work, really. Maybe just dumb-fire a HARM in the direction of an F-15? Or target the HARM at a ground radar, but have the F-15 fly to intercept the point where the missile was launched from, so that it's directly in the missile's path and see if the missile takes the bait?
Even if you don't end up doing this test, I still love your videos, dude!

Yeah, it's the pilot 80% of the time. Situational awareness and timing are so vital in BVR. In dogfight it's knowing the other aircrafts capabilities, strengths and weakness. GS is hardwired full of knowledge in this way. Plus, knowing intimately the craft he's flying ... makes my head spin.

I’m a complete novice when it comes to this stuff, but I love these videos. I do have a question however. In almost all of the F-35 videos I’ve seen on here, the F-35 is severely overmatched, yet all we hear about it is how technologically advanced it is. If it’s outclassed by the F-16 in maneuverability, and the F-15’s radar is so superior, then what is the F-35 other than a pint sized AWACS? The fact that it’s being marketed to other countries where the F-22 is still classified and not for sale sort of speaks out on how it’s basically just a Honda Accord vs Ferrari in terms of fighter capability. Again, I’m a novice, so there’s probably a ton I don’t know about it.

Also it's very undetectable,see the 35 locking the 57 while the 57 ain't even got a radar signature of 35 yet!

When the F4 phantom comes out you need to do the F-22/ f35 vs 2 F4 phantom and see if you can pull the maneuver that happened and see if you could sneak up on them without them knowing

Can you start using the Controls Indicator? Pressing Rctrl + Enter? I'd really like to see your HOTAS manipulation during the sorties. I think it would help a lot of people(including myself) to see how you move the stick and control the throttle during flight and BVR and WVR fighting.

With the advent of new radar absorbing paint for the F-35 here in Oz, I'd like to see this match-up without SAM cover.
Cant fly supersonic with that paint...yet. Anyway, SU's of any persuasion wont be flying outside of SAM cover. Never gonna happen.
