Added one inside my battery grip (canon R6) and now tracks the camera without alerting anyone that it’s there. And now the camera makes noise when I’m looking for it. Love them.
A thief can grab your property or kids, then mark his current location as home or work and they will then get a notification that your airtag is covertly tracking them in your stolen property. They would cause it to ‘sound off’ then they find it and toss the tag, voila. That will teach you for trying to be a stalker. Basically, Apple has decided to lump all their customers into the creeper category when actually they just want to secure their own property or keep their kids or pets safe. In other words it’s worthless as a theft deterrent. Sorry but true.
Hello, Lee, I like your channel and professional presentation very much. Unfortunately, this time, it is rather often not lip synch… Do you clap for post production when you start filming? Are you shooting at different fps than your editing timeline is? ;-)
LOL !! At some point I thought the same thing... like why is his audio track not synced up.... I've been working on a music video last few days, I thought my mind was playing a trick on me...
@@LeeZavitz Sorry for being too German about this ;-) Your channel is one of the best and pleasant to watch! I always like to see new content from you popping up on TH-cam, see you ;-)
Interesting review. I wondered if you had a high ticket item like a SUV or an RV or something if people could just hide an extra iPhone somewhere to track it if someone stole it. I guess these aren’t necessarily a replacement for that especially if they are going to let the thief know they are being followed. I think tracking your actual phone would give better updates too. Can’t really compare the cost of this versus a phone + it’s own plan though. One other thing I did use tile years ago(stopped when the batteries died) and I liked that I could use my phone to find my keys but if I had my keys and not my phone you could just click the tile and it would set off the alarm on the phone too. Do airtags have some kind of reverse find like that?
For real time tracking, buy a cheap Wonlex K15 smartwatch for kids with Sim card with internet and you will see it's location on the SE Tracker app ecery 1 minute or 10 ( you set what you want), you can even listen to audio from it without the other person finding out. Or buy a gps pet tracker.
When it notified you when you got home you had an unknown tracker and you saw the map of where it tracked you did it show your home address on that map Hopefully not so they person tracking you doesn’t know where you live
yeah not sure these can be marketed at stolen goods, if it's not updating in real time, then you will always be running behind. Good for lost items though
btw when you say "if you didn't like this video, hit the thumbs down button twice" umm doesn't that cancel out the hitting the thumbs down, i.e. hit once registered as unlike, hit it again and it's cancelled? lol I hit the "like button' though just so you know haha

It's good that someone else can notify you about your lost item but why on earth 🌎 they made it possible for others to disable your airtag? I would just left the only option so that only the owner knows about the airtag and not others.
Well as I explained. It’s possible someone could stalk or track someone maliciously. For the safety of someone being tracked it gives them the option to stop that. But yeah, from the point of view for theft it’s kind of dumb.
Basically. I don’t know why I assumed it would update more frequently like find my friends. There’s no way that small battery could last a year with that kind of updates. I think they are still worth getting. Just not in the way I hoped could use them for.
@@LeeZavitz yeah and the range is pretty low probably due to saving the battery. BT works a lot farther than 30-40 feet (the current range on them) gotta keep em small.
Kiddo the locators that rely on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not really good for security. After a year of trying them, and failure I bought 2 tags from a company called "whistle", they use the cell towers directly without needing to go through a cellphone. There is a monthly fee of $3.00 but they work much better and update location every 3 minutes without fail. I use them on my dogs collars when they run through the woods and can see their location on my phone.
Some reviews did that. But it’s unrealistic. It would have to be a perfect situation. The stolen thing would have to be dropped at the last known location with iPhones pinging it and then the owner could go to that location and find it with precision location tracking

Brilliant!
Did it actually work for the AirTag owner though? That wasn’t addressed in the end :(

I recover a stolen rental suburban yesterday with $30k in camera gear in the back thanks to AirTags
your video really fire

I can’t tell sometimes with plugins it lags. I’ll look into it. It’s not bad but I see it. I guess that’s what I get for editing stuff at 3am

Conclusion: helpful for lost items, useless for theft.

There isn’t an option to do anything with the airtag to trigger the phone physically

It has GPS + AGPS + LBS + WIFI. You can set geofence on SeTracker
what about those who have Android. Tile tags work with Apple and Android.

I personally ALWAYS misplace my camera here at home, and have done it before when not at home. Put on directly on my camera just to be safe
I really hate having to keep giving Apple my money but these things are a brilliant addition to any kit…😑

in case someone is trying to track you - you need to be able to disable it.
A hammer would disable it pretty good no matter what Apple did.
@@jeremyhendersonphotography and you can break a car window instead of trying to take the keys - why bother locking the door?
We have a camera, then we need an accessory to track the camera, then we need another accessory for the first one

This product will perfect if airtag has magsafe charging cuz anyone can remove the battery and my stuff gone .
Apple Air Tags are cool. Tags you're IT. mobeleash
I’d say it’s for stuff you lose, not stuff that gets stolen.
Yep exactly

Yeah 100% plus battery life wouldn’t last nearly as long.
And yes should have tested if the owner can actually find the airtag in a different location without knowing upfront where was it.
