A little tip for you add velcro to the back of the gaff tape so if you feel like moving gear around from compartment or case it’s super easy and you won’t ever have to replace the tape if it starts losing it stickiness
Great tip!
Love my Nanuk products (lifetime warranty) but this case might have to make it into my kit... Awesome review, glad someone reviewed this large case! Cheers brother 🍻
Good video. Very useful info. You rock, Chris! LOVE your channel!
Appreciate you 🙏🏼
We've owned Nanuk cases (8) for almost 5 years now. Quality!
Great video!!! I think I will be buying this
Nice overview man! I just had a double shoot day - one interview style (so lighting, multi cam, tripods, audio, the whole deal) and one real estate (gimbal, drone, etc.) and the amount of small bags I had to load and unload was exhausting.
I’m gonna look into this 988 because the idea of having everything in a SINGLE case would greatly increase setup & wrap speeds, but also add piece of mind that I’m not forgetting anything at a location, since it’s just one case and everything has a spot.
Just this month I bought the Nanuk 935, and while the case was to small it was amazing. So I returned it and bought the 950. And I can not say it enough, it’s amazing. I highly suggest sizing up from what you think you need, unless you need the 935 specifically for the carry on capability. Size up,
just trust me
Agreed! Worth the investment
Awesome insight Chris..thank you..as far as the "lid organizer" maybe you can super glue..2 NANUK 962 LID ORGANIZER's 962 model is the one thats (70L) capacity so its big.. and put them across..the lid area..lol
other day i bought a used RS3 Pro combo that came in a Nanuk 930, which i didn't even know the guy was gonna include, and i liked it so much that i just picked up a used Pelican 1510 for cheap, if you can find a good deal on Pelican/Nanuk cases, they really seem indestructible, and just feel pro. seems like they could get chucked outta an airplane into the sea and still be fine, tbh... i have the PPA insurance but these definitely give me more peace of mind. appreciate your vids, Chris! just got my first couple clients, helps a ton to have lucid and concise info. thx much!
wait so you have the DJ just do a line out from the mixer/house into the H1N? that's a great idea, never thought of it, and i have an H1N i almost never use
I recently just got my first nanuk case (935). The case quality is excellent but I have to say that the padded dividers feel cheap at best. Coming from peak design cubes, the foam dividers feel very flimsy and the move around quite a bit. Didn't had any major issues but looking at the left divider of your fx6 I can see that the form inside the insert is bent up and probably broken. Other than that I am very happy with my case, I also opted for the lid organiser.
Also love the Faruk cameo 😂
he nailed it haha.... see you soon too ;)
I really need to get a larger case like that for lighting and extras. Trying to fit small light stands into other bags it tough.
this is exactly the issue i wanted to fix and so far this is the only option out there i can find.
Nothing beats PELICAN made in the USA !!
Love my Nanuk case. My only complaint is the extending handle is great for someone that's 5'7" but not for someone 6'2" You're going to constantly wack that shit against your ankles and then it will spin out of control and you're going to have to be that guy that "Can't get his shit together" in the middle of the airport.
Hi Chris hope you’re well. Paul Garner speaking (new icon and surname shortened!). Thanks for the video. I like the sound of your audio from your talking heads and you seem to be able to make the DJI mics sound great. Would you possibly consider doing a Video on how you edit your sound including effects etc? Maybe something for the future! Thanks.
Honestly I slap it in the timeline, apply FCP voice isolation about 30%, add a compressor and that’s it!
I appreciate your review. I am a videographer who shoots live theatre, concerts, and dance shows. I shoot with up to 4 cameras, each with an Atomos recorder and 2 audio recorders. Of course, I have tripods as well. Right now I use two camera bags, and each tripod has a bag and I have a dolly. It strikes me that this bag would really simplify my organization of the cameras, the video recorders, audio recorders, mics and media. It won’t make the tripod thing any easier but oh, well.
Of course! That’s exactly the situation I was in and this solved it.
The pelican case used to come with Velcro dividers. Granted I’ve had my 1510 for over a decade
I'd love to see a video of you using that 35 150 on the gimbal and how you use it.
Check my IG. Got lots. But also, I have a vid coming
what is the light stand that you're putting in the case? Great video, came in for the case and ended up getting a workflow vid...loved it
They are the heavy duty neewer ones, standard length
Hey Chris :) Is there any reason why you don't use timecode for your equipment?
Now I want a Faruk case
😂
Is the bottom/floor of the also velcro?
Can you fit C Stands in a 988?
would you travel like this on a plane ?
Please Please certain
Gaf tape will leave a hard residue behind after a 4 month sitting
pelican air cases have a lock
Not the same
Nanuk cases are thin...
Faruk Cases❤😂
🙃
My lights would definitely not fit in there.
Pelicans do have a lock on the latches, try doing 5 seconds of research before lying about the competition
