    Which of these did you end up changing? Any you think we're missing? And if you want to take advantage of the 80% off lifetime encrypted cloud storage, use code "ATS" at this link: www.allthingssecured.com/internxt

      Thanks again! I'm looking at an iPhone -- can you tell me what the cheapest/earliest iPhones are that have strong security? Are these settings applicable to older phones?

    To add further to your section regarding hidden photos file you can even turn this off within the settings application and hide it altogether within the photo album but still when you're in your photos you can still send photos to the hidden folder just giving another layer of privacy, hope you found this usefulgreat video keep up the good work

    Can you make a video testing antitrack apps like Norton or others, please? There seems to be no reviews on TH-cam about these apps. Do they really work?

    • @AllThingsSecured
      @AllThingsSecured  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yea, they don’t, which is why I don’t make a video about it. Mobile apps don’t have the ability to analyze or control data on other parts/apps on the phone.

    What should I do if I get a new iPhone or new MacBook and I don’t want to be having a ton of devices laying around everywhere ? More devices means more items for someone to steal/hack.

      Remove the devices you don’t use and sell them.

    I had been under the impression that VPN's were no longer important. Since that is obviously false, is there a free and a paid VPN service that you recommend?
    Thanks

    • @AllThingsSecured
      @AllThingsSecured  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I wouldn’t consider them terribly “important”, but they can be useful in certain cases. I recommend ProtonVPN, which also has a free plan.

    The offer sounds good BUT I am still trusting another company with my data aren’t I? What if the company changes owners or goes out of business or….

    • @AllThingsSecured
      @AllThingsSecured  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You’re encrypting the data with your own keys that they don’t have access to. That’s the big difference. It doesn’t matter who the owner of the company is in that case, but as for going out of business - that true of any internet company, I guess. Calculated risk.

    Is the sponsor link working for anyone else? The 80% off isn't showing.
    Also, if something happens to this company what are the guarantees on this data? I'm thinking of using this as an offsite backup for a NAS. If anyone has experience with this service, would love to hear your thoughts.

    • @AllThingsSecured

    Another good idea is to run lockdown mode all day long. It’s not a scary as most people would make you think the only people that I think would have a problem with this are people who use FaceTime or game centre on a regular basis

    A major failure is if you have older Mac devices not able to be updated to the latest OS. You have to remove these devices from your account to enable ADP.

    • @AllThingsSecured
      @AllThingsSecured  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This is true. It seems to be one way in which Apple “encourages” users to continue upgrading their devices 🤷‍♂️

    • @AllThingsSecured
      @AllThingsSecured  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No, it’s the Settings screen where 2 factor authentication and Advanced Dara Protection are located.

  • @mikeward1701
    @mikeward1701 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

    The only people who need to use advanced data protection are people at risk of being individually targeted by other people, organisations, or governments/nation states. It’s overkill for the average person, and puts regular people at risk of losing access to their important files and precious memories, because if they lose that one recovery key, they lose everything!

    • @AllThingsSecured
      @AllThingsSecured  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I respectfully disagree. We need to learn to be in control of our own data, and Apple gives us a fairly risk-limited way to do this. Adding a recovery contact and backup codes mean that it would be pretty difficult to get locked out.

      He’s presumably in the US, where most people are Apple users. Also, with so many different manufacturers changing settings on Androids, it’s difficult to make a video that is as simple as one for Apple, since different settings are likely in different locations, not universally defaulting to the same settings, etc.
      Also, he could just be an iPhone user that doesn’t know that much about Android 😂🤷‍♂️
