Hopefully they come to their senses on AirTag 2 with a proprietary battery that can't be replaced and a dedicated wireless charging station for only $395.
I think a nice feature would be to mark a tag as "on my person" and then if it gets separated far enough from you the phone would chime. If you got like pickpocketed or your bag got snatched when you weren't looking.

There's also a scene in Fugo Keiji: Balance Unlimited where they do something similar, except they push an ad to all the people in a specific area to twirl with their phones out for a cash prize in order to make a 3D map of the block to find a person by stitching the image data from all the phone's cameras together.
The strap for eyeglasses is actually a great idea. I lost a couple pairs of Oakley sunglasses on hikes in the mountains in the past. This would have been a godsend.
Imagine all the upcoming videos and reels of people tracking their AirTags right up to their dogs, looking back at their owners like "Well, now all you can do is wait bro.."🐶
What do you mean? You already can track the AirPods in Find My Device, including making a sound. If you want the exact location, you can buy an AirPods case with attached AirTag slip.
Jumping on to say important something he missed: Android won’t give you that “an airtag is following you” message, but after being separated from the owner for some time it will start making noise once it’s moved. Currently that time period is 3 days, but it’s server side, so Apple can change that globally any time they want.
I recently got my first iDevice in at least 10 years. iPad Mini 6 5G, for my Sound Quality truck. But, this got me to realize I can now use Airtags. So I will be putting an Airtag in the frame of both trucks, my gooseneck, and inside of a few expensive cases I bring with me to shows / events. 10/10 way to track things.
you can just put the tag with the keychain around a regular collar. but that is a good idea to find where the cat is hiding...since they are really good hiders
So me and my girlfriend have owned this for near six months and as a couple who forgets EVERYTHING this has been a godsend. In fact I bought a new iPhone for the tracking features keep in mind older iPhones can now use the noise feature and the find my but it won’t give you the arrow tracking. I’ll be honest the arrow tracking isn’t that good but it is somewhat helpful. Our only worry with the real stalking features we are afraid some of the features will disappear soon. But it’s so nice if I forget my keys and I leave the house it will tell me. I got this on my keys, badge and wallet
I wonder if you can leave one of these in your car and how well it'd work to help you find where you parked (for those who forget where they parked - i.e. which parking aisle at Walmart, etc.)??

Yes, that’s why Apple gives Marques Brownlee and other reviewers, new products for free, so they can review it and reach more audiences. It isn’t awkward, its just a very good marketing idea!
I don’t use a case because I paid over $1000 for the phone and it’s design. Using a case actually makes you more clumsy with your phone because you think it’s safe. Without a case you learn to hold your phone properly. I just take good care of my stuff and I get to enjoy the feeling of the phone.

@@randfee lighting is one thing even I wanna know how it's done. The shot otherwise is kinda easy to achieve. Put a camera in a bag, and adjust the settings for the dynamic range. However, the lighting is what made me love the shot. Maybe a small aperture light beside the lens or close to the camera.
With the purple iPhone quietly chilling in the background the entire time - so smooth and subtle. I guess there's an unbox coming, I'll be keeping an eye on my notifications.
The "stalker" tag notification is an interesting double edge sword: say somebody steals your backpack and the person has an iphone, he/she will get notified that the backpack has an air tag in it and he/she can discard it before you can track it down, making the most valuable use of it kinda impossible.
@Earl P. I absolutely agree, but when I buy something like this, I'd do so specifically for the not-so-good minority. The good people only need a 50¢ paper tag with your phone number on it.
That is actually the primary use case I was hoping for: being able to track down a stolen item (a bicycle for example). The alert (on iPhone and the sound) makes that impossible. I get the privacy concerns but I won't be buying one until the alerts can be turned off.
I know, people will not actively go into the app every few minutes to see if someone has lost something around them. People mind their own business, specially on public transport.
Good Job! I came here to learn what an air tag was. I checked two other videos and quit watching because there was no info but a lot of cherp. In 5 seconds I knew what an air tag was, how to us it, how much, ho2 big it was and a bunch of stuff never would have thought of. Great communicator.

Very well done video by the way - even an almost no tech skills person like me can understand and see the value in what you are speaking of.
This is like the scene from Batman where they get all the mobile phones to find the Joker and Morgan Freeman was like “this is too much power for one person”, except it’s not the Joker you’re looking for it’s the keys that you forgot you left in your jeans pocket.
There's also a scene in Fugo Keiji: Balance Unlimited where they do something similar, except they push an ad to all the people in a specific area to twirl with their phones out for a cash prize in order to make a 3D map of the block to find a person by stitching the image data from all the phone's cameras together.

No, we simply aren’t clumsy 😆
Interested in seen a comparison between the galaxy smart tag and the air tags.
I don’t use a case because I paid over $1000 for the phone and it’s design. Using a case actually makes you more clumsy with your phone because you think it’s safe. Without a case you learn to hold your phone properly. I just take good care of my stuff and I get to enjoy the feeling of the phone.
I removed my cover recently just because my old cover looks trash and overused, and I’m too lazy to look for a new one, plus the curfew we have makes it difficult to find a decent shop open.

The "stalker" tag notification is an interesting double edge sword: say somebody steals your backpack and the person has an iphone, he/she will get notified that the backpack has an air tag in it and he/she can discard it before you can track it down, making the most valuable use of it kinda impossible.
most people are actually honest.
Absolutely. I think this just makes it easier for people with good intentions to return your stuff!
