Great review. I just brought a 848 about 3 months ago now. Honestly what a great bike to ride. I am going to track day in a few months time to ride it on there. Termignoni full exhaust and tuned sounds great on mine. The bike gets a lot of attention. Thank you for your review
Congrats on your 848. I am very impressed with mine at the track, such an easy bike to ride. I can't ride it anywhere else, sadly. I hope you have fun with yours on track, too. The next mod for mine will likely be a shorter travel throttle, as I can't get my wrist around far enough to pin it on the straight, even after reaching my hand further over the grip first!
Perfect track bike and very forgiving to ride . Ive just got back into track days after a six year break . My previous bike was an r1 and i now have an 848 evo corse Se and its so much easier to ride fast . The Ducati is so much more fun to ride and sounds bloody awesome . Good to see you enjoying it
Excellent thanx , from 62 yo Yank.mi almost bought a super sport was watching your vids over & over. I should have bought it it was $9000 & excellent clean condition but I saw how much insurance was. Insurance on my monster 796 is only $30 a month. It would have cost about $100 a month for the super sport
Great video. The 848 is a brilliant track bike. Just the right amount of power and I agree you will grow into it and get more out of it. With the Healtech QS. If you have the app you can tune the unit for things like cut time and delay as well as eliminating the cutting from vibrations. The torque on the nut or on the shift rod against the sensor is critical. Too tight and you will need to use too much force to shift and too loose may produce some of the issues you describe. I have one on my 1098 and its great at the track. You can also purchase parts for the unit if the sensor is broken. Good luck
Maybe look into a motorcycle hitch carrier. They can be a little easier to navigate and cheaper, but I'd recommend seeing if you can try one to ensure loading and unloading works for you. Cheers
Awesome, chuffed you got out there. The EVO model of the 848 IS the one to whip around the track. Rev's all day up to the limiter and that G' Box is fine without the quick shifter. That the EVO has the 1098 brakes so you'll 'll never run out of anchors is a bonus . Experiment with reverse ' race shift' . Go see the Vice Pres of the Motorcycle Sporties in Yatala, Joe at Ride Dynamics set my suspension up - yep 'Rails ' . Being a wet clutch pack the STD Slave in good condition is just fine. Lakeside is NOT my choice for a beginner , too much roadside furniture. I know it's an extra hike for you guys but Warwick has PLENTY off run off if you make Whoopsies and is a prettier layout... Surface iS better .
Great to hear all your affirmations about the evo... I am so excited to learn everything about it. Thanks for the tips... and yeah I'll take it to MP in October when I do a California Superbike School course. I am yet to try QR too. All the fun yet to be had.
Great video! Very insightful. Wouldn't worry about people saying you need to start small on track days. 848 is a great track bike.
Thanks and after that first day, I agree... the 848 is lovely even for my level.

@@staceonwheels keep us all updated on your next mods. Thank you.
@bradyolandapuggle5039, yes I sure will 😁

It does sound awesome! Completely different engine characteristics, power aside, to an R1. Glad you're enjoying yours too 😁
Oh yeah. Two Ducatis!
Finally I have a red one! 😆

Wow that's a lot for insurance! Mine is a bit more than half that, after dollar conversion, but we're in different countries I guess.

Thank you! I wonder if it was vibrations setting it off at higher rpm down the straight, when my foot was nowhere near the shift lever... 🤔
@@staceonwheels I think that's the most likely reason
Really enjoyed your first out on the 848 Evo. I have the 848. Happy to purchase the oem levers if you want to sell them. Thanks.
Thanks for that, glad you enjoyed it. Send me an email at staceonwheels@ gmail.com about the levers, if you still want them.
@@staceonwheels email sent. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I’m on the fence between a budget friendly 848 or an 899 for more money.
Tough decision. I don't know the 899 or your riding skill but the 848 will keep me happy for may years, I think. I hope you enjoy whatever you choose.

Good one Stace, Mullet again. Glad you had fun on the 848. You typed a 3 instead of 4 in the title 😅
Bloody hell. Thanks for pointing that out Mullet - I fixed it. I must have too much 939 muscle memory in my fingers!
