    Enjoyable and informative video, great insight into how a track day runs, looking forward to more, well done Stace.

      Thanks for that, I was aiming for it to be useful, at least to a few people wanting to try 😀.

    Im jealous! i planned to get my SS, which I got after moving from the US to N. Iteland on track but after 4 years haven't git around to it. Probably because the roads available over here are so nuch better than what i could access readily, and I guess Im a tourer now. I did a couple track days 'back home' with my trusty Speed Triple and just like you, it was eye opening and a total blast. Good advuce in this video. Yes, leave the ego off track. Its about learning and enjoying. I took two Calif Superbike School days about 6 years ago and that was soooo worth it. Long live BO.

      Our SSs are Do Everything Ducatis!!!! I like touring on Boe too. And tep... now I'm looking to do some track training too.

    Great vid Stace loved it. I've been lucky enough to do many track days at Phillip Island and a few others down south but will soon be ticking off Lakeside Park as its just down the road now. I found your vid bringing back the excitement and knowledge track days can give you. Hope to see you one day down there (with your worn out sliders).

    • @staceonwheels
      @staceonwheels  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Worn out sliders... YES! I'll be on my 848 evo from now on tho. Phillip Island is on my bucket list.

    So great to see finally the video :) I can confirm for myself, that neutral has "kicked" me out from the track 2-3 times on our bike. But the truth is also - I was too delicate pushing the gear lever. Last time I was on the track I was very solid on left leg and then it was all proper without too investing time to think whether it got in gear or not. Waiting for new videos :)))

      Hey buddy, thanks for commenting! And maybe I'll test your quickshifter method on the street first!

    I was also searching TH-cam for Lakeside track day videos & found this one! Sounds like you got the track day bug :) It's so much fun. It was a surprise to see one of my videos in there! :D

      Thanks buddy. I surprised myself a bit, but feeling quite grateful I have that foundation to build on. From 2 or 3 years of practicing the little things on the street, that helped a lot.

    I did my first track day in 1978 on my CB 750 and the cost was $10.00 and you didn't have to wear leathers, gloves nor have approved helmet. I LOVED it but hated when the TZ's and RG's would blast by me on the really long AIR straight. I ran street Avons and had to lean off so much to avoid the spring loaded footpegs folding in too much and scraping the outer front toe section of my sand shoes! Good times either way. ;-)

    Well done Stace, you were brilliant! I was with you on some of those corner entries, felt the nerves and excitement! Shifting your weight whilst cornering is the most fun, and really gives you confidence. Makes you feel like Rossi too(even though you're only leaning a little)! 😆Thank you for putting the effort into your video(s), as another SSS rider in wintery UK, it's the next best thing to riding watching someone else enjoy the same bike in Aus.

      Thanks Matt ❤️. I can't wait to be dragging my knee through some of those corners. All in good time. I feel sorry for you all in the northern hemisphere winters, hibernating your bikes.

    Love your videos Stacey. 😊.
    And snap, we have the exact same helmet with the same graphic…. If only I had the same bike as well as you as well - the 950s is high up my list.

      @staceonwheels  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! Yeah this helmet looks good with my (939) SuperSport colours I reckon. It's comfy and quiet too.
      Hope you get to also have a 950 one day too!

  • @984francis

    Wonderful! The heat is a real problem with track days, I had a day (NC, USA) last year where I rode for about 30 minutes total. It was impossible for me and my brain just quits. As for chicken strips, yup. I can get to the edge of the rear tyre on the road, just, but on the track stuff scrapes (boots, sidestand e.t.c.) and yeah, my ego likes that. The thing is of course that I lean further than necessary for my modest corner speed due poor body position skills. I've only once just touched a knee down on the track (I maintain it's due to short legs😬) but I have managed to do it both ways in parking lot (slow) practise. I'm OK at late, hard braking but on both my Duc and RC51, I find EBC HH pads are far better than stock. Power, good feel and no sense of fade.

    • @staceonwheels
      @staceonwheels  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great to hear your experience, thank you 😊. My next track day is in Feb so body position and understanding my traction control settings are my priorities.

  • @gerardhipton752
    @gerardhipton752 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks like your traction was 3 and ABS 2, is that the settings you use on the street, it is for me. Looks like you had a lot of fun Stace, beautiful bike Beau. My SSS's name is Baz because of the number plate, it starts with BAS 😂😂. I've hummed & harred about going to Mac Park Mt Gambier for a while, its only 10klm away, watching this vid of you at Lakeside makes me think maybe I should, thankyou!
    Ive just bought an Insta 360 RS, cant tell you watt its like, haven't used it yet, ive heard their more reliable than the Gopro!
    Stay Safe, Cheers! ❤

    • @staceonwheels
      @staceonwheels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Same reason Boe has his name!!! Yep thise are my street settings so I might play with that on the track next time. Give it a go! It's great fun

    Well done, looks like you nailed it by that lean angle and tire wear 👏impressive. I've done the induction group twice in the last couple of months and totally agree with everything you say - great day and great people at Lakeside. What track bike are you thinking? Tried to send you through a message yesterday with a link to a nice Ducati 899 in Wollongong but TH-cam didn't seem to like that. Let me know if you would like to know more - also thinking track bike sometime when I'm flush - seem to be heading towards a >2013 Daytona 675...

      @staceonwheels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the kind words! I cannot believe you recommended that 899... I was only just searching for one on bikesales... you can email me at staceonwheels@gmail.com Jeff, thanks!

    Great camera views there. Very brave of you, bet that was a hoot. What’s the orange light that flickers on now and then? Wasn’t redlining or anything, in the mid range.

    • @staceonwheels
      @staceonwheels  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Spydey... it was awesome. The orange light is the traction control, which means the bike sensed it was sliding a bit (likely in the rear) and it can automatically cut power to regain traction but I didn't feel that happening. Mostly likely just a momentary slip in the rear while at full lean, due to the tyre getting fairly hot and the pressure being a tad too high. But I'll work it out with more practice and experimenting. That was a longer reply than you probably wanted!!!!

    • @oo0Spyder0oo
      @oo0Spyder0oo ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I’ll be buggered, didn’t know they had traction control on bikes! That’s amazing. No reply is too long, explained it well, thanks a ton. @@staceonwheels

    • @staceonwheels
      @staceonwheels  ปีที่แล้ว

      @oo0Spyder0oo not all bikes have it tho they all have abs now. Some even have lean sensors and automatically adjusting suspension... they will ride themselves before too long...

  • @thebobster9848
    @thebobster9848 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well done Stace! A very honest and objective analysis of your performance as well. You mentioned an occasional false neutral. Were you relying completely on the quick shifter when out on the track? Also, I bet the ride home seemed painfully slow!

    • @staceonwheels
      @staceonwheels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks 😁. I didn't use the quickshifter at all on the track, for that reason. I do on the street, sometimes, but never into corners. Yep, the ride home felt slow but never painful on my beautiful Ducati!!

    • @thebobster9848
      @thebobster9848 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@staceonwheels Yes, they are a great bike, but I know what you are talking about regarding the quick shifter. I've had the odd false neutral using it too. Ironic isn't it, that a feature designed to save you fractions of a second on the track can't be relied on!😖

    • @staceonwheels
      @staceonwheels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @thebobster9848 ha! So ironic.

    I love the video! I want to get a supersport like you have for a track day here and there (mostly for the street though), but I worry that if I drop it, it’ll be expensive in an Italian way. Is that a worry you have too? And do you have some advice that might make me worry less about it. I’ve never done trackday before so maybe there are aspects I’m missing. Thanks!

    • @staceonwheels
      @staceonwheels  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have the same fear of hurting my SS... but I really wanted to try teack days, so I prepared as best I could and rode within myself. That was enough to realise I love it so I have bought a track only bike now... Ducati 848 Evo. I might still take the SS on track again once in a while because it is a blast ride it harder than we can on the street. I'd say just treat your first track day like an experiement, learn what you can, and ride within your abilities to focus on enjoying this beautiful bike. Then decide from there.
