I found out I was xxy about 17 Year’s ago, felt different as a kid, but played sports in high school, football. Found out about this issue hen the wife and couldn’t conceive a child. Then found out and changed everything. Wife and I split, but I can understand now, she had 2 others kids after, which is awesome for her. Myself I didn’t want kids ,after I found out, hated the world, but eventually got over it. Now I’m 43, and love life. These days I’ve researched this issue but I guess it is what it is.... just live you’re life to the fullest and be happy, it’s all that matters.

This video had me in tears at the end. I am pregnant with my miracle baby. I was told I could not have children over 12 years ago and 2 days before my 43rd birthday I found out I was pregnant. Just started the second trimester. My obgyn suggested doing genetics testing through blood work because of my age and not being able to have children. I did the genetics blood testing and the test said my child has a high risk of having klinfilter syndrome xxy.
I was told abortion is an option but I was also told these genetic blood test are not 100% accurate. I was offered more invasive test but they could lead to miscarriage.
My husband and I talked and did some research. I have been watching videos of people living with klinefilter syndrome and learning so much. Being I feel this is my miracle baby I did not feel abortion was an option for me. I have always wanted to be a mother and it was so hard for me to accept the news I would never be one when I was told I could not have children.
My husband and I are going to test our sons blood to get a more accurate result and go from there. Being that the genetics testing is not 100% of a diagnosis we do not know for sure if our son has klinefilter syndrome but we do know with having the higher risk we are learning and preparing our selves! At the end of this video is when my tears fell. I want to be those parents that are so helpful and supportive for my son! We have narrowed it down to two names for our little miracle boy! Ethan or Rayden! Thank you for sharing what your life has been like living with klinefilter syndrome. You are making a difference in this world! I love that you found a career that you love! God bless! 🥰

When he talked about having an invisible disability on a job, I could really relate. You're right. Employers really don't give a damn. I don't have kleinfelters, but autism and was fired from jobs (crappy ones, so no love lost) and it can really suck before you get a diagnosis and understand why. I'm glad you finally got employment that suited you. I'm retired and finally "working" at the thing I was meant to do and don't have to deal with their shit anymore.

    • @Woodman-Spare-that-tree
      @Woodman-Spare-that-tree ปีที่แล้ว

Why should employers give a damn? Employers need a job done. You can either do it or you can’t. If you can’t, you’re a burden.

@@Woodman-Spare-that-tree I never said they "should" give a damn, but when you're out there killing yourself at some low paying crappy job and they still say you aren't good enough, it can build up resentment inside of you. It worked out for my benefit, though. From this (and other bad experiences) I've been able to put together a series of satirical comix depicting the horrors of sweatshop life. See, I do have talent. I'm just not too good at shoving things into boxes at breakneck speed.

Found out at age 66. It explained my whole life in this diagnosis, but didn't fix it. Still have untreated ADHD. But looking back over past medical records I found one physical done in the 1990's where my testosterone levels were at 120 ng/dl. Doctor never said anything about it! Prior to being diagnosed by my current endocrinologist I had a physical done by my GP. Testosterones was 80 ng/dl!! He said that was normal for my age as I should "expect to be slowing down as I get older". I knew enough at that point to seek out an endo to get it fixed. My most recent labs tell me I'm at 700. Never went back to that GP! Actually am using my endo as my personal doctor as she is very thorough.

I and so many other have similar stories of incompetency from doctors. It is the norm, not the exception. Standard care should be run through algorithms and actuaries. A simple system that uses these would have easily caught this abnormality and indicated the appropriate next step.

I was slow to speak, slow to walk, had a speech inpediment, starting feeling lethargic at age 17, started having balance issues at age 17, started having memory issues at 34, and now at age 35, started growing breasts, curvy hips, and a big bum. I'm pretty sure I have Asperger's Syndrome, too. I started researching 47,XXY online and apparently, my body is the exactly like someone with 47,XXY, only I have slightly more body hair. I just figured it out now and I'm 29.. memory issues from 28.. erectile dysfunction since 25.. depressed, angry, anxious, cant concentrate and anything.. I measured my balls and dick and they above average but my hips are wide and I got lil boobies and long arms and legs.. 6'2 tall.. not really obese but I do have a bit of a stomach. Maybe when I was 13-16 it saved me that I was doing push ups a lot, so I might had been able to produce enough testosterone for my balls and dick to be above average. But now I don't do that anymore and it seems I'll have to exercise and be under the sun so vitamin D helps produce testosterone. I'm unsure if I'll take the hormone therapy but I'll try to raise my testosterone through exercise alone.

You cant get rid of it but you can treat it ( And since your 17 im gonna assume that your still going through puberty?) You need to go to the hospital and get testosterone injections

No cure. It’s a genetic disorder so it’s in your DNA unfortunately.

XXY is one of the more common intersex conditions. The good news is that most children have tough childhood but when the reach their mid twenties these issues seem to subside.
I happen to have an intersex condition related to germ cell sexual development.

Xxy is not an intersex condition.

      I don’t think it’s an intersex condition. It’s a genetic disorder.

And none of the physicians thought to test genetics.

These chromosomal defects aren't really anything to celebrate. An aquaintence admited he had Kleinfelter Syndrome, after he told me he was infertile and I said I was a geneticist. You just have to accept what life brings you. Turners syndrome is the female version.

Sounds like nobody ever celebrated you. Must be sad.
