XYY syndrome is a genetic condition in which a male has an extra Y chromosome.
    Symptoms are usually few.
They may include being taller than average, acne, and an increased risk of learning problems.
The person is generally otherwise normal, including normal fertility.
The condition is generally not inherited from a person's parents but rather occurs as a result of a random event during sperm cell development.
Diagnosis is by a chromosomal analysis.
There are 47 chromosomes, instead of the usual 46, giving a 47,XYY karyotype.
Treatment may include speech therapy or extra help with schoolwork.
    Outcomes are generally good.
    Prevention is not possible.
The condition occurs in about 1 in 1,000 male births.
Many people with the condition are unaware that they have it.
The condition was first described in 1961.

Ivan Smith the Y chromosome is not a broken X chromosome. The father either donates a Y chromosome or an X chromosome during fertilization since men have both. So the sex of the offspring is determined the second the egg is fertilized based off of if the sperm cell contains an X chromosome or a Y chromosome.

Correction: There is no murder gene that makes us criminals per-se, but things like aggression can be found in our genes such as the warrior gene, Monoamine oxidase A, which is more prevalent in the most violent criminals.
Here's the the problem though, the gene only activates based on upbringing

He loves me and my family and he would do anything to protect us. Even if he cannot always control himself, hes trying to change. He's a very strong person with a big heart that's why I love him so much. He got teased a lot in high school, middle school, everywhere just bc he looks older than all the other kids at his school. I advocate the same thing, however environment has by far the strongest influence as environmental stimulus is what shapes genes to begin with and can reshape them in a matter of a single generation if the environmental stimulus drastically changes, meaning in a single generation, a person can drastically become genetically smarter, stronger, fitter, mentally more healthy and more adapted to something than their parents if they are heavily exposed to an external sensory experience that forces their genes to change to adapt to it, entire genes can drastically be altered by an environmental change whether it be cultural, chemical, social, geographic, dietary or otherwise, look up the study of epigenetics.

      XX XY

      1/2 female
      With one having this 'mutation'
      XX_ XYY
XX XY XY XX XY XY _X _Y _Y
      4/9 male
      2/9 female
      (3/9 possible dead born)

The acne is caused by extra testosterone. Similarly when growing as a boy, the reason some people are much taller than others is that during puberty when growth happens if testosterone is present, or if an abnormally large amount is present you will grow taller. That's why most women are short, because normally they do not receive much testosterone until they are 20 and mostly done growing.

The video its self is basically saying "we don't *know* what XYY does, because its never been properly tested"
If you only ever search for books in fire places, you will scientifically conclude that all books must be hot, but this is wrong because of *where* you were testing. To truly know what something is or does, you must follow the scientific method, and those scientists did not. They had too many variables.

Yes, nature and nurture. Our genetic predisposition definitely tells a lot about how we are going to turn out as much as the environment that we thrive in has an influence. The thing is, at some point in this video, the narrative begins to disregard the fact that indeed, an extra Y chromosome, which ultimately leads to an individual developing male sex organs, could be responsible for extreme aggression of some. Remember, having an extra Y chromosome, means an abnormal control or production of testosterone which could possibly affect the physiology, hence the behaviour, of an individual.

    • @teaartist6455

      It doesn't, though.
It has been a theory but it's been disproven for quite some time now.
The issue with the first tests that seemed to confirm it was that they specifically took tall men in prisons and mental institutes as a sample (XYY men are generally taller) and tested them.
That'd be like taking all tall men you find in a library (again tall=more likely to be XYY) to see if XYY men read more than normal men.
In both cases you'd find more XYY men than 1 in 1000 because you picked a sample size based on the physical characteristics that XYY men commonly have.

Aside from just XYY, the question of the effect of genetics on behaviour, and criminality, is an interesting and morally complex one. There are almost certainly some genes that might give individuals a higher *predisposition* towards aggressiveness and violence, which may translate into more criminals having those genes. Similarly, there is a genetic component in psychopathy, even if not all people with psychopaths in the family are one themselves.
Should people with genetic predispositions be treated differently by the legal system? For instance, should individuals with a proven predisposition towards psychopathy be barred from giving evidence in court or positions of power? I personally think not, but its an interesting question.

Isn't testosterone directly linked to aggression though?

Squizree dominance. It is different from aggression. Dominance can be aggressive. But aggression is not dominance.

Y is a broken X. The question is where did the Y come from.
Mutation. Super male isn't the correct term. XYY=Killer

No, XYY is so harmless, most people that have it don't ever find out about it and life entirely normal lives.. Seeing as it's a whole extra chromosome hanging around, that's pretty insane to think about.
