    I’m 43 years old and got diagnosed with KS just 2 months ago. Being aware of having KS actually explains a lot of my childhood behaviour as well as many issues I’ve right now.
    I looking forward in how potential treatments can improve my wellbeing… going to be a interesting journey.

    I am 29. I was diagnosed with hypogonadism at 21 and finally with KS at 25.
    I've always had a bit of trouble communicating verbally because I often have a slight comprehension delay, but I've just sort of got used to it.
    I was a straight A college student and work in the IT field. I was never diagnosed with any disorders in childhood and by pure happenstance, my PCP ordered my testosterone be tested and found it was at the level of a man in his 80s, when I was 21...

    Did anyone else catch what he said at 14:25, regarding where the "money" is at????
    Physicians in America never seem to shock me....its always about the money with these folks...
    No meds means no money...meds means money...hence his comment at 14:25...
    I was dxed at 31, tried T for a bit, didnt feel any significant changes. Not that i expected too though, as i was way past puberty. By this time, i had already developed strategies that worked for me and coping skills for my life.
    Could it have helped as a teenager, maybe. Some people say yes, some say no. I myself never really enjoyed being a science project or a way for some allopathic medical professional to fatten their pockets.
    I still do not take HRT or any allopathic medicines. I do take herbal meds sometimes, exercise as often as possible, meditate and look for the positive in every situation. Look up "two-spirited" peoples in American Indian societies, Hijrah's in Asian countries and any other names throughout the world. Embrace who you are...and love yourself!
    Having KS as a child was tough bc even though i knew i was different, i couldn't tell anyone. Family physicians didn't notice, the Navy didn't notice or rather, they didn't make any suggestions, although they did deny me from joining due to medical reasons. School was difficult because there were no teachers informed on the issue. However, by the time i entered college, i did get an IEP which helped my grades incredibly. I was a rockstar in college with damn near all A's! Which honestly, wasnt the case when i was growing up.
    As for shyness, i was shy, but i was Xtra special and the women or girls made that clear to me. I may have been weaker, struggled with my appearance, sports and some cognitive things, but that didn't stop me. I even dealt with depression for a time, but none the less, i was outgoing, friendly, played sports, dated many girls and women alike, wasnt shy when it came to meeting women, just had to rehearse what i was going to say to them if i approached them somewhere. I was feminine too and still am somewhat so today, but again, that wasn't a hindrance, but rather a blessing in disguise. Women could confide in me and talk with me with ease bc truthfully i got along with them better than men/boys.
    Had my father been more supportive and understanding, things could have been much easier. But, its not like he knew something was wrong either, bc i def did not tell him anything bc it wasnt in his nature to be compassionate.
    All in all, KS has a huge amount variables. Focus on your diet, make positive food choices, exercise, stay as fit as possible and tell yourself your awesome everyday and pretty soon you will start believing it. We have the power to change our thoughts about ourselves, just like anyone else, kS doesnt inhibit that.
    Positive affirmations is where its at.
    Its your life, dont be fooled into believing youre gonna have tons of medical issues and whatever else. Everyone develops medical issues at some point. Just focus on the positive an be grateful everyday...there are many things worse than having xxy/KS.

      I just found out I have KS with 18,83 (just because of antipsychotics). But already had been diagnosed with Asperger before. It's also a spectrum, just like KS is. But in the end, what dos the diagnosis bring you other than knowledge. You are who you are. With or without Asperger diagnosis. And other than KS, Asperger doesn't have any negative health side effects. Like Osteoporosis or diabetes or sterility. So it's up to you if you want to get tested. In my opinion Asperger is not a disease even if it's in the DSM or ICD-10 (I live in Germany) it just describes the way you are. So if you want a diagnosis, you're doing it for yourself and no one else. What is also a factor you have to take into account is: do you what that every one knows you have asperger. For example if you see a new doctor he knows and your insurance will also know, probably. If Asperger doesn't affect you harshly, I would not get a diagnosis. Of course, if you really want it for your personal identity, you can get it. But you don't need it.

      It's up to you if you want to be tested for Asperger's. It's said to be a common symptom of KS, but who really knows... The patient knows, as in yourself.
      The docs honestly do not know shyt, that's why they need us to continue coming forth and explaining our issues or our symptoms so they can do a comparative analysis.
      Asperger's or KS can get your needs met with work situation. You don't need both. I wouldn't do it, and I'm sure I have some form of Asperger's on the spectrum.

    I'm not a doctor nor I play one on TV. Though I think that boys in their adolescents received testosterone as they're growing up and going through puberty would benefit greatly from it as an adult. Most of us find out 10-20 years after puberty. Testosterone in boys and men make their world go round. From being better in sports, more confident and attract women. Really it can make and break someone's anxiety and depression as a child.
    Though there is no cure for the syndrome it should be emphasized and pushed early testosterone treatment for the betterment of themselves.

    • @WillWalburn
      @WillWalburn ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not all those adults that had it pushed into them as children are happy with the effects in their adult life. Some wish they'd never been given testosterone as children.
      The children's parents and educational systems need to be aware and perhaps having a therapist in the child's life during early years would also be extremely beneficial. They do this with other disorders all the time, to not do it with a xxy child unless he is dxed as having ADHD or Autism makes no sense. The child has learning problems and should be provided necessary alternatives.
      Giving a child a synthetic hormone in its early years is not exactly the best option. Most things synthetic are harmful and can have harmful side effects. Testosterone is no exception as it too is synthetically made and produced in a lab.
      We xxy children are not lab rats.
      Testosterone should not be administered to children without the children's consent period or when they become of the right age, they can make that conscious choice.
      Something does need emphasis and I believe they would benefit greatly from positivity from their parents, social systems, educational systems and good therapist to get them thru their early years. Not having that, and not being aware they have an issue is what is debilitating...

    • @Lightbulb909

      @Graeme Tucker I’ve been trying to get to the bottom of how the extra X causes infertility. I studied biochemistry just so I can better understand how it might cause infertility.
      Here are some interesting things I found out:
      Males have Sertoli cells that are like sperm cell incubators: they help undifferentiated germ/stem cells grow into spermatozoa. Without Sertoli cells, the germ cells die. The reason why males with KS have hypogonadism is because what gives testes their volume are the Sertoli Cells that line the walls of the seminiferous tubules.
      If you ever got blood work done, your doctor might’ve mention high concentration of FSH and LH hormones. The FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) is released from the brain and travels to Sertoli cells to tell it to make spermatozoa. In a negative feedback loop, the Sertoli Cells release Inhibin to stop FSH production. KS patients have high FSH concentrations which means no Sertoli Cells exist to produce Inhibin to stop FSH production.
      LH (lutenizing hormone) is released to make Leydigs cells produce testosterone.
      Now, somehow the extra X causes Sertoli and Leydig cells to die as a KS patient nears ages 11-14. What’s interesting is KS males are born with Sertoli cells-they have them-and they start to degrade as KS males grow as children, with totally degradation around 11-14.
      In order to have male genitalia, male Sertoli cells produce AMH (Anti-mullerian hormone), which is amplified in a positive-feedback loop by Sox9 and Fgf9. Without the Sertoli cells in embryos, there is no male genitalia formation. So, therefore, KS males definitely must’ve had Sertoli cells when they were mere embryos.

    • @Lightbulb909
      @Lightbulb909 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Graeme Tucker I also read that there are males, who are not KS patients, but suffer from infertility problems because the AZF genes on the long arm of the Y chromosome are deleted. What these deletions result in is a teste has Sertoli cells but no germ cells, called “Sertoli-cell-only Syndrome”. This is interesting because it gives a hint as to what genes encode for what.
      The video you sent is a good video, but unfortunately I already knew everything she mentioned.

      @M-CH_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Which makes me wonder all the more - is testosterone improving cognitive functioning in KFS directly acting in the brain, or after being aromatised into estrogen. Females don't suffer the cognitive dysfunction after all, despite lacking testosterone. If it's the latter, there is a promising compbound known as estradiol paraquinol, which only gets activated into estradiol in the brain, not affecting the rest of the body. Maybe it would be a less radical alternative for adressing the cognitive underdevelopment?

      @jasonwoods,
      How's your thyroid and amygdala?

    • @WillWalburn
      @WillWalburn ปีที่แล้ว

      @jasonwoods,
      It's not the difference Testosterone levels that alter mind states, but rather how it alters the amygdala, pituitary gland, anterior cingulate and hippocampus.
      Having low T means you have more estrogen. Estrogen is related to the Pituitary Gland. You're pituitary gland, along with anyone else who has xxy or other chromosome variations have a different size pituitary gland, amygdala (fight/flight sensor), hippocampus, and anterior cingulate. This is what causes the hormone imbalance, which in turn causes issues with the thyroid (Lupus, Goiter illnesses). The Thyroid aka the Crab ♋ Chakra region, regulates hormones, both masculine and feminine - hence the 6/9. The 9 is the Female, and 6 the Male in all things, not just in the cosmos.
      You were born the way you were born. And introducing the body to an Induced amount of Synthetic Testosterone or Synthetic Estrogen is cause affects similar to what you endured and may still endure.

    • @WillWalburn
      @WillWalburn ปีที่แล้ว

      @@M-CH_
      Brilliant! Another who delve into how it effects the brain.
      It's because xxy makes one generally more feminine. The regions of the brain affected are the Pituitary Gland, Amygdala (fight/flight sensor).. (also causes and reacts after a Dopamine release). Epinephrine, Norinephrine, and Dopamine are created in the Amygdala and I believe Cortisol is as well. The Hippocampus, and the Anterior Cingulate (found in the Neo-Cortex) along with the Gray Matter (Mater/Mother) and the Pre-Frontal Cortex are all effected by low T or too much Estrogen. The Thyroid then becomes unable to achieve a balance regulation of hormones.
      Physicians want to put everyone on Testosterone bc it makes them a ton of money. However, there are promising alternatives and more natural ways of increasing T in the body.
      Me personally, I don't use anything synthetic. Notice the word Syn in Synthetic? It's called "Syn"-thetic because that region of the brain is known as the KA region of the subconscious and unconscious state of awareness. It's referring to the Sine Wave region of the brain. The region that in the posterior view looks just like Ganesh of (H)Induism... Named after the Indu River Valley. Ganesh represents the Basal/Basil region aka the Neck of the spine. In KMT culture, it was called PTAH and resembles a Snake, especially the King Cobra in Khemetian culture.
      The Sine Wave region creates waves when a person is sleeping known in the Greek terms of Theta, Alpha, Omega, Delta ect. According to etymonline.com the word sine is also called the Sin which relates to the woman in Abrahamic religion's. In Greek mythology, it's called the Abyss. Yet, in numerous other cultures outside the European context and definitely outside the Greco/Roman context altogether, we learn that it's the eternal waters, and thus the Moon and thereby means it relates to the Wind, Breath and of course the Spirit. Mamu Watu in Polynesian.
      Greco/Roman writers along with English (Anglo-Saxon) writers would have you believe they created this, however it was actually written by the Igbo, Yoruba and Khemetian peoples of Afrika/Africa.
      The word Sine is the same as the word Sin, because etymologically the letter (e) is not pronounced which is the same as the letter (h) in Hinduism - again named after the Indu River Valley, not a people or Arya Tribe.
      The Sine Waves affect the DMT levels Dimethyltryptamine levels. Which is why people with xxy or other chromosome differences have sleep regulated issues.
      Our thyroids are also affected by things like SEL, Goiter, and any other ailment associated with hormone imbalances.
      These imbalances caused by the inability of the Thyroid to regulate itself in turn cause problems associated with the Liver, Gallbladder, Intestinal tract, Adrenal Glands and other organs. Constipation is directly related to the X chromosome and this is seen with woman more then men. Yet, having an additional (x) chromosome depicts this same characteristic in xxy peoples and variants.

    Okay some of the stuff that this guy says is accurate other things are not so accurate. For instance testosterone is obviously a hormone. It affects sexuality in the brain. When a child who is biologically male on the outside has low levels of testosterone in his developmental stage before puberty occurs. Will develop more feminine features. This is why when a child is very little he looks very feminine but when testosterone kicks in at a much higher ratio his body takes on more of a manly appearance as he gets older. But then you'll have men who even after puberty hits and their testosterone does go up they still look very feminine. And this is because. Obviously genetics play a key role in this. We know that having klinefelter's can affect sexuality and can affect it on a mental and physical scale. But he seems to be dancing around these issues a lot in his talk which is really quite annoying. On top of this trying to say environmental effects effects sexuality is just nonsensical. We know full well that when it comes to how the person develops it's really going to be based primarily on his genetics. But the wisest man thinks usually comes from a person who thinks that genetics and environment are 50-50 that's a load of bull crap it's usually 80% genetics 20% environment. It's not usually 50/50 that's not how it works. You're not going to go up to a person who is of a different racial group and say that their IQ levels are based on 50/50. Because we know IQ is based in genetics. Because some groups of people are inherently more dumber than other groups of people this is proving it's been proven countless times at this point. This is why if you go into an area of Spain and then into an area of Britain you're going to get different levels of IQ and different intelligent levels this is because. Different racial groups have different levels of intelligence. This is based in genetics. So we know genetics play a very important role in IQ we know that testosterone is very important for intelligence because it allows certain areas of the brain involving speech learning cognitive function to go up this is why when people are caught with klinefelter's. They usually have issues with speech learning Reading Writing. Because the levels of testosterone they need in order to function at the same ratio as most people. Have been reduced. This is why if you give a child testosterone or certain levels of testosterone as their developing. Their mental abilities will actually go up. But again this is also based in genetics so depends which racial group they are. Because we know that blacks have an IQ of 85 on average whites have an IQ of 110 on average Asians have roughly and IQ of 110 Mexicans have an IQ of 85 on average. We know that this has to do with testosterone we know that this has to also do with aspects of brain size and function this is again not something you're going to debate on. Because it's been debated for thousands of years the science is settled when it comes to this. But klinefelter's obviously affects neurological function sexual development. I've studied many transgenders who've had klinefelter's. And all of them look biologically male but inwardly their hormone levels are that of a woman. Which is why most of these people transition from male to female. So we know that hormones play an incredibly important role in sexual and mental development in the person especially when it comes to cognitive function. But he dances around all of these things so much and it's so annoying. Just be straight and honest with people that's all you have to do go into the raw data and actually explain it according to what's there. I will sum up this video for you. Klinefelter's affects brain chemistry sexual development mental development and it affects IQ levels in the individual testosterone races aspects of the person's IQ because it affects the speech neurological functions involving speech writing and just thinking clearly. Being able to make appropriate decisions. Especially when it comes to sexuality the body's sexual development also is affected heavily by this. Which is why you'll have boys who were raised with small gonads. The inability to put on a lot of muscle they tend to have curves and wide hips and usually put fat into certain areas that women would have it instead of men. This is because the neurological hormonal function of their body is tempered more towards a woman than that of a man. This is why many of them become gay or many of them become trans or many of them will start taking testosterone but they'll start taking it in steroid form. Many bodybuilders if you actually study them including actors have kleinfelter's. But they're able to get around these problems because they take high levels of testosterone a lot of them are so insecure about it that they'll work out so much it's actually kind of worrying. Genetics is King either you understand this or piss off

      Thanks for your opinion. It was pretty long and clumsily written but informative and since you claim that a lot of your transgender patients have KS I want to trust you. What happens when an xxy guy transitions to fem instead of compromising his testosterone levels? Do the symptoms like anxiety, depression, dyspraxia, energy, osteoporosis, prostate cancer, heart disease, 2 diabetes worsen? Does the xxy brain work and feel predominantly womanly when they undergo HRT? I've heard more xxys say that they wanted to be normal guys taking responsibility and fathering their offspring and learning of their KS impacted them negatively, wanna find those who always kinda sensed their inclination towards a female and comfort in experimenting with fem stuff, fem mannerisms etc.
      If you decide to reply I'll be just so glad, thanks

      @@CombraStudios @CombraStudios you're joking right obviously you're messing with me. Look first of all excuse the writing I was talking into a phone as I'm talking into a phone now. So if my writing is a bit jumbled excuse me I am also dyslexic my writing isn't the greatest. Please don't think because I'm dyslexic that means I'm stupid I'm not stupid. Okay when you're a child growing up your hormone levels kick in your brain starts to develop. The hormone levels that your biologically born with if you're a man you're going to be developing as a boy. If your girl you're going to develop as a girl. But if someone has messed up chromosomes as they develop from a child to a teenager. Their body is going to take on more feminine features because of the damaged chromosomes.. this is going to react with the rest of the body their chances of heart disease stroke kidney failure all of these go way up because of the damaged chromosomes. It's not the hormones that cause the damage in the body it's how the body is developing think of it like this. If you have a boy that is developing and his body is more feminine his body needs higher levels of testosterone as he develops but he's getting low levels. The effects his hormones are having on his psyche. Is going to cause him to have trouble sleeping stomach problems again these are all variables they differ from person to person they're not concrete. But on average you see people with neurological issues digestive problems. These issues get worse as they get older because of the lack of testosterone or too much estrogen again there's more than one kind of testosterone in the body just as there's more than one kind of estrogen in the body. When the body develops with these damage chromosomes. Again there are variables here. This is not set in stone. But because of the damage chromosomes what type of estrogen what type of testosterone is going to develop this is why you'll have men who have smaller penises they have trouble losing weight and they tend to go bald at a younger age as they get older. Because genetics play a key role in how the body develops over time. It's like having a car you're supposed to inject fuel water oil into the engine block but if you inject too much of one of these substances it's going to screw up the timing. But not every engine is the same some engines have a timing belt others don't. So the effects of too much oil or water or gas is going to be different depending on the type of engine. This is called a variable this is. Categorized by racial characteristics in the individual. This is why mutation. Can be such an annoying thing to deal with. If you're a republican. And you push more so-called Christian oriented views without understanding The Common Sense aspect even the Bible supports you're going to ignore genetics. If you're a Democrat you're going to go very far usually into pushing this stuff there's a middle ground. Between Republican and Democrat in understanding this issue. So with all that said. If you have somebody who has xxy. I've seen somebody with an xxxy who later transitioned to be a woman. To this day the person looks just like a girl. Now if the person was just xxy the effects. That the hormones would have would be different or the person would not want to go on hormones to be a woman they would probably go on testosterone this is based on variables. I have heard people say that replacement therapy causes heart disease stroke Cancer all these things that's not what the literature says. The literature says that certain kinds of estrogen can negatively impact the body in these ways it can affect blood clotting it can affect cancer it can affect cardiovascular function but the same thing can happen with testosterone replacement therapy. That's why some people with kleinfelters can't go on testosterone. Because the effects it has on the nervous system. Affects them negatively. Again when the Republicans more right Wingers state that estrogen can cause cancer can cause all of these issues they're going off of a republican viewpoint just as the Democrats are going off of a democratic view point the science. Is usually ignored. And this science by the way goes back all the way to the 1930s and even further back. But to finish up this conversation. Let's say you have somebody who is xxy. And they decide to transition to a woman. So they go through with the transition take the hormone replacement therapy and their whole life for the next 40 years let's say they're 20 when they start. They have no health issues no problems and then one day they wake up and find out they have cancer you have no idea if it was caused by the hormones or a toxic lifestyle or if they're obese these are variables. When they took the hormones did that increase their chances yes and no because of variables. Heck there are some people who take testosterone replacement therapy who have gotten tumors growing on their penile gland. So they've had to have the tumor removed and they had to stop taking testosterone. Which only worsened their psychological development. This is why there are so many different types of treatments. But when you have two sides the right and left who constantly bicker and argue and fight over the subject. While ignoring the science it's really quite annoying. My apologies for the long post.

      @@CombraStudios also another way to look at it when a woman goes through menopause she's designed to have estrogen but when she gets to a certain age estrogen actually has a higher chance of causing cancer in her body so when a woman goes through menopause. They try to take soy and other products in order to raise their estrogen but they have to be careful because now that their body has reached that threshold they can't put as much estrogen in themselves as they used to this will affect everything from their sexuality to their hair to their skin to their looks in general this is why women are genetically predisposed at a certain age to not having enough estrogen at a certain level. This is why men as men get older they tend to look more and more disheveled and their testosterone tends to drop more and more as they get older and they start to look more and more feminine. So it's kind of funny the men start out looking masculine the women start out looking feminine as the woman gets older she loses her feminine and becomes more masculine and ugly than the male who's more masculine. Becomes more feminine as he gets older because his testosterone is naturally going to drop as he gets older. It's literally a game of opposite. The point of this is that genetics are King you're going to have women who are beautiful when they are younger but after they reach a certain threshold the hormone levels balance out. And they begin to age and when this occurs the effects of these hormones go from being positive to negative but this is also based on variables because there are some women out there who no matter how old they get they still look gorgeous. Just as there are some men who no matter how old they get still look masculine and strong this is based on variables that is tied into genetics and Bloodlines this is one of the reasons why the elites back in the day and even today are so obsessed with breeding and trying to breed the ultimate human this is also why. Certain groups of people throughout history have pushed for proper breeding because they're trying to get the most balanced person they can get. Without any genetic abnormalities they went so far. If they saw any genetic issues at all in their children like the Spartans would the Spartans would evaluate the baby if there was any problems they throw them off a mountain. So is eugenics a good thing because that's where all this stems from a form of eugenics yes and no because you Genex can teach a person hey if that person over there is inbred you don't want to breed with them because it's going to affect your child. But then you'll see someone who's beautiful and strong and intelligent and you want to breed with them because you know that your children are going to be intelligent as well but that's not entirely accurate because of variables what if the intelligence they have is nothing but stupidity doesn't matter how smart you are genetically if you have no common sense. Which comes with work and living. This is the fun aspect of life. This is why when I look at these issues I look at it common sense wise. If someone is born and they have genetic problems and they're a male. Do I want them to go on testosterone to balance it back out yes go for it but you have just as much chance of dying from testosterone replacement therapy for men as you do from transitioning into a woman and depending on your genetics you might even have a higher chance of dying from the testosterone. Again we are a fallen creation according to the Bible we are not perfect we are flawed because of this. There's going to be problems. I would recommend for a strong metabolic rate and good hormones food wise take plenty of biotin zinc now and then don't overdo it on zinc you can really mess up your liver. Potassium magnesium potassium chloride is probably the best very powerful though don't overdo it on potassium chloride. And vitamin C you need to keep your blood healthy you need to keep your metabolic rate at a high level. But once your genetics kick in once you reach a certain age level your body will start breaking down in different ways so you're going to have to change your diet accordingly in order to maximize your hormone levels you can have to work out more. You're going to have to do more than what you did when you were younger. A body in motion tends to stay in motion while a body at rest tends to stay at rest they ignore the part about diet though. If your diet is good you won't have to be as proactive as you did before. Again these are variables based on the individuals. It's one of the reasons why I bring up IQ or different racial groups when you have people who are black they have a lot of melanin In Their Skin making it harder for them to absorb vitamin D3 and nutrients from the Sun yes they can be out in the sun longer but because of the lack of vitamin D their bones are going to be weaker they're going to have a lot more issues with heart disease in the future which is why. At the hospital I used to work at most of our patients who were black tended to have more heart issues than white patients. Just like Scottish people tended to have more issues with diabetes than Irish people. Again these are variables though because they're are people who are black who don't have any heart problems at all that's because they get enough nutrients in their diet. That changed the variable negative to a positive. Again genetics are King diet exercise taken care of yourself is insanely important you don't have to worry yourself to death or anything we're all going to die. Your genetics and your lifestyle will determine when that will be

    If we're hard to teach, this guy is impossible. This channel is called AXYS see any syndrome that only manifests after the onset of puberty in there? Has nobody ever approached this guy with the notion that XXY is not KS? My reading says the karyotypes that have been found in men with KS are 46XY, (approximately 20%) 46XX male, 47XXY, 48XXYY, 48XXXY, 49XXXXY and various mosaic forms such as 46XY/47XXY etc.....
