I've enquired about my issue in one of your videos elsewhere. After going through this video, I think it's BIOS related. I need to reset the BIOS as advised by you. My issue is, since my Vaio laptop battery isn't in working condition i use it by connecting directly and power is on. Lights blink. Fan runs but there's no display, i.e. the laptop is not turning on. In such situation can I connect the laptop with an external monitor or an led tv to check if it's okay? Now, if there's display what does that signify? Also, please confirm connecting the laptop with an external monitor is advisable? The laptop screen went black when the boot mode changed from LEGACY to UEFI thus the black screen. Do you think by taking out the CMOS battery will reset the BIOS?

Does replacing the CMOS battery require a factory reset or can it be replaced without doing a reset? My computer was beeping 5x when turned on and still working. I just removed the actuall computer battery and plugged in the power jack and it now works without beeping. I changed the CMOS battery on my old Dual Core Dell desktop after problems (F1) booting. Some motherboards have a jump point where you can reset the BIOS password if you short out those two points. However, that is a risky operation and you run the risk of destroying the motherboard if done incorrectly. For that reason I choose not to have those DIY videos on my channel. Sry :(

I dont think BIOS is the issue. BIOS is your base system. Once it loads up successfully, it hands the computer over to your operating system. So I have a lenovo idea pad 510. I had removed the ram stick yesterday to have a look and then put it back properly. I then turned on my laptop to see if it was working and it turned on just fine. So I switched it off and went to sleep. The next morning I get up but it won't start. The charging light is on and shows that the laptop is charging but there is no other sign of life in the laptop. No light other than the charging light is turning on and no sound is coming. I am not being able to understand which of these processes to go through in order to fix it. Please help
I have the same dell in this video (inspiron 5000 series model 5558), so my power button stopped working. I had someone look at it and I bought a replacement button he put it in and now the laptop does not want to turn on. i then asked him to put the old button in to see if it will turn on and nothing it wont turn on. Is there anything that can be done about this or should I get a new laptop.
Hey i need help if you can read this, i've got a school laptop, i finished school and i forgot to give them my laptop to give me access to admin rights, i can't reinstall my windows because that, by doing this in video would i be able to reinstall my windows? thanks.
@@PC_Monkey it's dell laptop, bios has a password, I don't know how to reinstall windows without admin, tried to boot with USB and didn't work, I can download some programs with run as invoker bat files but can't for example download some games with it. Can I just like remove the bios battery or? How it works?
Hi Sir. Is it advisable to replace your CMOS battery? Because in this tutorial it only shows to remove the battery for an hour and place it back in. What if the battery already needs to be replaced?
This video is showing how to perform a BIOS Reset. All that is needed to reset BIOS is to remove the battery for a time and then put it back. If your battery is bad and needs to be replaced, then yes, of course you should replace it.
If the BIOS Reset didnt help then you would next test the Charger and the Power Jack as seen here; th-cam.com/video/YBhsVHideGE/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/HpabvrNaodU/w-d-xo.html
Hi, i have problem with my asus rog model g531g that won't started, i already try the static buildup repair like your 1st video but not solve this issue, but now i would try to find the cmos battery to reset like you said, did you know how to find it and is it worth to try this step to fix the problem?
1. Not all motherboards have a CMOS battery. Yours may not. 2. Yes, this is a useful step in troubleshooting the issue. 3. Are there any signs of life at all when you try to turn it on? Lights? Fan, Motherboard, or Hard Drive sounds? Anything seen on the screen?
@@PC_Monkey yes it have showing a sign on the flight mode indicator everytime I push the power button the flight indicator will blinking some light but not on the battery or power indicator, i feel that my laptop have the cmos beside the harddrive but its really hard i think to get it out bcoz its under the motherboard, but i would try to change it that the last option that i could do to save my laptop, thanks for your concern!

Sir, can you please help me? I have dissambled my laptop and there in nothing like you have showed in video. In my laptop it's like blue color at end and silver on top and it's shouldered. I don't even know if it's CMOS battery or not. I can't find jumpers too. It would be great if you could help me find out. Sorry for bad English.
I want to turn onn virtualization in my laptop. When I press F2 key during boot it ask me for password. I tried few software which says it will remove that password but nothing happened. Then (as per other videos in TH-cam) it said that it can be done by removing CMOS battery. So i dissambled my laptop and searched. I tried to find and there was a battery like thing but I not sure that it way a CMOS battery. As weak was late a night so I assembled my laptop. In a hope I again disassembled my laptop and it gone worse both enter keys and bunch of other keys stopped working and the password still remains there. I am screwed after unscrewing all the screws 😔 A little help would be great.

In order to reset BIOS its best to have the main computer battery out and the power cord unplugged. Then you remove the CMOS battery for up to 20 minutes and then put the same one back in. That resets BIOS.
Is that what your trying to do?
My dell inspiration 15r is giving a single beep and not starting. I did some research, and it seems like it's a problem with the bios? Should I try changing the battery for bios reset first? Would that fix that? or should I try replacing the bios chip?

Please tell me how to perform BIOS Reset, as you said, I want one question that if we pull out the CMOS Battery for an hour, Whether laptop Battery remains there or not?
If you have to fix the date and time settings in BIOS every time, my first thought would be a bad CMOS battery. But since you said you replaced it recently, my next thought is a bad CMOS battery port or even motherboard :( You would perform a BIOS reset by simply removing the CMOS battery for an hour and putting it back. But it sounds like you have already done that. When doing the BIOS Reset, it is best to remove the computer battery as well :)

I dont think BIOS is the issue. BIOS is your base system. Once it loads up successfully, it hands the computer over to your operating system. Seems like the computer is going into sleep mode and trying to recover when you turn it on. Try removing the battery and charger to make sure the computer is off. Then try turning on the computer.
