When I was homeless I had a pet pigeon who would sit on my shoulder. I never needed a leash or cage for him. He was always right there with me at all times. One day I got attacked by 3 men. I barely got away from them. But while I was struggling to get up and away from the men, I heard the most awful crunch sound. It was my bird he got run over by a car. He wasn't looking at what was around him. He was worried about me and was trying to think of what to do. After everything was clear to come back. I went to him. He was still alive. I held him and tried to make him as comfortable as possible. He passed about an hour later. It was awful. I blame those men for his death, the whole fight was literally started because they threatened to kill him. But people do go after homeless peoples animals, because of jealousy mainly. People can be absolutely evil.

Usually pets are the only thing that keeps homeless people going. It is a common saying to never try to take away a homeless person's pet. (at least in my country)
All cruel bastards deserve punishment. That homeless guy was like I just might need his own business and has nothing but his companion. That passerby had no right to show needless cruelty to an innocent life.
I'd like to point out, in Irish law here, 139 convictions does not mean 139 arrests. A single act usually results in multiple counts at once. What is noteworthy however, is that in Ireland, your convictions before you turn 18 are wiped from your record. That means he had 139 counts against him in just two years.
Someone with 138 convictions or arrests in the US would not get 4 months. That’s bullshit either way. This is why someone like that had the chance to harm this man’s pet. Stop trying to somehow justify the Irish courts mistake
This is so sad. As if being homeless isn’t enough of a burden (mentally and physically) that initial act must of made him feel so insignificant. While he stood at the bottom of the bridge praying for his only companion to survive, I bet he felt so alone in the world. @@prachisaini1as somebody who's been homeless before, you don't really make enough to live off of begging. The stigma around being homeless makes it basically impossible to get a job (especially since you can't really take care of yourself properly). On top of that, there are just a bunch of services that you can't really access because you don't have a home. You don't have a permanent address to put on any sort of official documents, Banks often won't service you even if you do get a job meaning you have to go to predatory payday lenders, etc. Most of the money that you get basically goes to just trying to survive through the day. Maybe enough to get a hot meal, pay for a gym membership so you have the ability to actually shower occasionally. Maybe get a tent because the hell of a lot cheaper than rent until you get back up on your feet, etc. Add in stuff like probably having bad credit, landlords not wanting to rent to you because of a bad or non-existent rental history, prior criminal convictions, a lack of transportation like a car to get to work if you can find a job (combined with bad public transit, in the US at least), etc and you got a situation where the majority will basically stay in homelessness. On top of that, the "chronically homeless" (I.e. people who are homeless for extended periods of time, not just temporarily like a few months) tend to have a bunch of additional issues like physical or mental disabilities, addiction, etc which makes it even harder to get back on your feet. It's difficult to get a job if you literally can't do the jobs that would hire you, and it's difficult to get an apartment when your entire paycheck is going to the rehab center you're at trying to get clean (seriously, I don't think people realize how predatory a lot of rehab centers are, especially anything run by the salvation army or AA). It's expensive to start your life all over again, and since society insists on punishing homeless people for past mistakes, instead of helping them to move on, it's even harder to reintegrate into society. That's why you see so many older homeless people, once you've adapted to a society that basically doesn't see you as human because you've lived without a home for so long, it almost becomes easier to just deal with the lifestyle and the challenges it faces. If society doesn't want you, why even bother trying to join it?

It's 2023 he is still like that even after money how?.

That poor homeless man! Do people not realize they likely had stable lives before becoming like that? It's not like he bought an animal, knowing he couldn't afford to take care of it, he's just loyal and loving, and his rabbit friend is likely all he has. It's amazing he saved the rabbit, water easily and quickly kills rabbits (due to hypothermia--never wash a rabbit, just wipe whatever's dirty with a damp towel, make sure they're kept warm!)--truly a miracle. I'm glad he was helped.

This is why the Doom Slayer is simply a video game in this timeline. We’re the alternate universe where he saved the rabbit, thus being unable to become the Doom Slayer.

I’m from dublin and I usually walk on that bridge and it is quite a far drop so he was lucky to find his pet, unfortunately Barney did die maybe a year later or so but he was very well respect in the community and often sat on a street called Henry’s street and was always offered jobs but refused to. @@mrcattoonist4766 Well, let's say you are working at some random restaurant or bakeries, the store won't give away the unsold leftover foods. Ever wondered why? There's an actual reason for it. Thus, the companies that manage the eateries will throw them out to reduce the chances of food poisoning and they also do this because if any one of their employees or some homeless guy ate the leftovers and potentially get sick, the companies may be sued for it.

I had a pet bunny I loved. My ex-husband tried to hurt me by throwing her outside. We had been stationed in Germany. I had gone home to the USA to take care of my grandmother while she was on Hospice. My ex got mad that he had to care for himself & did a lot of terrible things to punish me. The Army never punished him for anything, even though others reported him & that he lied to get over $1000 more a month pretending I was still there.
