I have to say I was sceptical of all these ‘get more views/subscribers’ quick videos out there as at first I felt the content I’m trying to make is fairly difficult to break into.

When TH-cam stopped allowing access to channels while in a livestream my subscribership went way down.
That says to me you were spending more time networking in live streams rather than actually crafting your channel to speak for itself in regards to subscribability. Looking at your channel, I would recommend spending more time on your channel presentation (banner, thumbnails and video content) - which should result in more views and subscribers.
2:45 So my biggest takeaway from this video is that I can make a video titled "mhmmm hmm mhmm hm" and be as big as Pewdie Pie. Working on that script now... 😉

Purpose and goals. If you set a goal you’ll have something to strive for, something that will make you get it done even on days you don’t want to. Make it a real goal, not a view or subscriber based goal. Something bigger that will really drive you.
@@NickNimmin I try so hard to make and edit videos that literally take me days to finish and when I push upload no one even watches or comments I only have maybe 2 or 3 people who actually constantly watch me but that's it... and I'm starting to feel so unmotivated 😔

Once again, great information, Nick! I've been trying to figure out where my niche is but after watching this, I think the better question is: what can I offer of value in that niche. I knew where our niche was with events we put on but COVID-19 made that impossible this year, hence starting the YT channel (unexpectedly). I have had my channel since August of 2013 and throughout those 7 plus years I've only amassed about 269 subscribers and I often get very depressed or discouraged about my current status given the amount of time I've been on this platform and I see the people around me putting in just as much effort in their content as I do in mine and I see very minimal results on my end compared to them. I know it's not good to compare yourself to people but it's kind of hard not to do that at this point. It's just discouraging.
Just keep doing while learning a lot. Growth is the result.

Apply it! You don't magically get views and subscriber just from watching a video. You have to apply the advice (over time) to get results. Nothing is instant.

I'm so happy I found your channel because I was on the verge of deleting my channel after not reaching my milestones. Thank you so much for your teachings, they gave me hope to continue.
For me as a food/ Car diy channel, I've found that having a Direct as it as appears on the product title gets a higher ranking on the search que, in most cases the top of the search que, but a good thumbnail also is a huge plus, initially this wasn't the case, my vids would be so buried that people would never find them, TH-cam requires alot of patience and alot of trial n error, and then success will come but it does take most of alot of time,I also went from being in front of the camera to being behind the camera, thus putting the content first as it should be,our viewers definitely seem to prefer it that way, which is fine with me, I don't know about everyone else, but personally I don't like watching people shovel their mouths full of food while trying to review it, Liked your vid, Spot on Info, StaySafe
