@CollWampus try making shorts, you don't get any watch time hours but the subs seem easier because shorts are new content. Look into aspect ratio, 2:3 4:5 and 9:16
You would think the common goal is: "I want a million subs" Nope, I think all of us just want to build up a community that enjoys our content. Keep working hard at it folks!
Yeah I just want people to enjoy my content and that I can cheer people up and brighten up their day around the world and for it to show results when people sub cuz they enjoy my content and want to see more
For me, the hardest part is both caring and not caring about the numbers. Like I want to have great viewership and get more subscribers, but I also never want it to control my content
Literally having knowledge, improving your public speaking skills, and consistency will get you at least 1k subs. Add a nice camera and mic 10k easy. I hope to reach that many soon!
A nice camera and mic isn’t enough. The right topics, presentation (as you mentioned) and learning how to edit or put content together based on how people respond to it are keys.
Working hard at it and wanting it helps big time too. I’m relatively new to this but I’m at 21 subs and I’m okay with it! I feel like it’s good progress
@@purbashafalguni I honestly have no idea! Just the right tags that people are searching for and in my niche, some of the videos were popular when I posted them!

I'd like to mention the various ways that you shouldn't be worrying about the stats as a smaller creator that I've picked up: 1.) When you're starting out and not getting many views, your watch time will probably be lower than average. That's because the 5 second views from viewers who accidentally clicked/people that come just to leave a comment can destroy that stat for you. Seeing a huge drop off before 30 seconds and an average duration around 20% is normal. 2.) If you think you're seeing a dip in stats like your CTR, be sure to check your impressions. That stat will be lower if TH-cam is actively pushing your video. Always look for ways to improve that stat, but just remember that the average CTR is between 2 and 10%. 3.) Many stats won't be of any use to you until you have a bigger audience. For instance, if I was to believe the stats, 100% of my audience is female aged 35-44. So don't worry about trying to figure it all out straight away, just get to grips with the fundamentals and learn as you go. Anyway that's my little lecture over and done with, I hope that helps someone out there!
There is a lot of truth to what you are saying, my channel statistics are just starting to get useful. And audience retention graphs get better the more views you have.

This is so useful! For the first time ever I rented a studio this weekend so I could film multiple different videos & spend time working on my editing style. I really like what you said about using your audience to dictate not just your content but how you present it. 2021 (& onwards), let's get iiiiiittt!

I was at one video a week but now followed your lead and try to post quality content daily. You recommend consistency which is great but I prefer to follow your example and post daily and now I see growth on my channel. Thanks for this video!!
If I have learned anything from my small channel that would help anyone starting its this. 1. If your video is doing well, DONT edit anything in the title, description, or anything you will lose ranking 2. The "follow for follow" will actually kill your channel. If your subs aint watching or if they just click for a few seconds to comment on your video then leave, it hurts your algorithm. 3. Patience and consistency are the way.
I've been streaming for around 2 years now and have had multiple channels but can't seem toget this one off the ground. This advice helps a lot, thank you Nick!
Appreciate you taking time and helping TH-cam creators out! As a new creator it get discouraging sometime but we just have to keep on grinding! Good luck to all!
I agree, at first my mindset was to gain a ton of subscribers and likes but after reflecting and changing that mindset I was able to have more fun creating content and although I haven’t met those goals yet I’m still happy with where I’m at and I’m excited for what the future holds
Thank you for the tips and advice, hopefully my channel can hit a stride in the near future. Getting off the ground is definitely the toughest, but trying to appreciate the process and self teaching the thumbnail creating/video editing, etc
This is the motivation that I needed. Growing is something that been trying figure out. And trying to get some need strategies to do so based on the algorithm haha
Happy new year Nick and everyone reading this. Thank you for your great tips. I really hope to figure out my target 🎯 audience this year and really make valuable content. Otherwise, sometimes I know what am doing, other times I think I have no clue.
Lots of people go through that. Try to not complicate it too much. Step 1 - Get a general idea who you want to watch your videos so you can come up with topics/ideas they’ll care about. (Example for me is TH-camrs). 2 - Learn how to make good titles and thumbs. 3 - Learn to present and edit well. Do those things and you’ll be fine.
I started 1 - 1 - 20 over the year I hit almost 2k subs and have been paid. Main thing is dont get discouraged and do your best no need for perfection just be you.
Genuinely good advice: 1. Integrate into communities of your niche - forums, meetups, subreddits, discords, other youtubers 2. Don't think about the growth, think about the creative process - the growth will come as a result. 3. Cater for the market, what does the audience want ? Research other creators in your niche 4. Stay consistent - film multiple videos in one sitting, appease the algorithm (lol)
The fact that I can make anywhere from 1-10 videos in one sitting, and then upload them 1 day apart from each other actually makes my type of content less stressful for me and more fun. And I make better quality videos and thumbnails while I' waiting for them to upload! Thank you for the amazing help.
Wow, Some of the advice for thumbnails and making consistent content that is tailored to an audience is straightforward but none the less the way he explains it is calming and I will certainly apply it as much as I can.

Facts
Since I crossed 1000 subs but just reached 2000 hrs. I have been watching many videos of yours on a daily basis. Great help!!
My pleasure! 🤓👊
I agree, at first my mindset was to gain a ton of subscribers and likes but after reflecting and changing that mindset I was able to have more fun creating content and although I haven’t met those goals yet I’m still happy with where I’m at and I’m excited for what the future holds
Thanks for all the good info. You covered everything I've been wondering about!

Thank you for the tips and advice, hopefully my channel can hit a stride in the near future. Getting off the ground is definitely the toughest, but trying to appreciate the process and self teaching the thumbnail creating/video editing, etc
Good luck everyone it's nearing the end of 2021 but hopefully 2022 is a better year for all of us
“Set goals”
Me who’s 12: C L O U T
This is the motivation that I needed. Growing is something that been trying figure out. And trying to get some need strategies to do so based on the algorithm haha
Claiming this positive energy and hoping 2021 will be my year!! Thanks for the advice :)
Sending good vibes!
Yes! Much needed 🍀
I now fully believe this is going to be my year🤗Thank you Nick
🤓👊
@@NickNimmin Thanks alot. Will do just that!
I have just started growing. I mean impressions .. i felt amazing ,but about 15 days ago impressions and views droped deep down and i dont know why...
it's ok, keep it up!
This is a great roundup of things to do to grow this year. I'm going to write down my goals. Thank you 😊

I started 1 - 1 - 20 over the year I hit almost 2k subs and have been paid. Main thing is dont get discouraged and do your best no need for perfection just be you.

How are we doing
Happy new year everyone. Congratulation to you all. Nick 👍
Happy new year!
Genuinely good advice:
1. Integrate into communities of your niche - forums, meetups, subreddits, discords, other youtubers
2. Don't think about the growth, think about the creative process - the growth will come as a result.
3. Cater for the market, what does the audience want ? Research other creators in your niche
I want to start raising money for charity and my family

Me too but its so hard no one watches me

Good luck to everyone who is trying to grow! It will pay off for us guys!!

Wow, Some of the advice for thumbnails and making consistent content that is tailored to an audience is straightforward but none the less the way he explains it is calming and I will certainly apply it as much as I can.
