    Finally someone with resolve for the pocket 3. Thank you very much. Being an absolute beginner to Davinci, this is very helpful. I am watching most of your videos btw. Time to subscribe! 🙃

    Subscribed. Saved for later reference and use with my Pocket 3. You are a very nice and knowledgeable person, but perhaps not the best teacher for a person like me who has has never opened fusion. Example: you put in dots without saying how (I did see you do it though) and then you removed one (which? And how? And especially why?). Sorry to be critical, but I hope you can understand where I am. Won’t be doing this until after Christmas anyway. It’s still in the box.

      Davinci is kind of difficult to learn, sorry I went a bit fast, right click on the dot to remove, and it's not so much about removing a specific dot, it's about resetting your initial color modification because it may have gone too far off course. Davinci has quite a learning curve, and I was in the color panel for this video, fusion is not needed. Congrats on the camera, very easy to love, especially with the latest firmware updates.

      @@CharlieVN Thanks. I think my point was that your viewers would benefit from a more carefully thought through and rehearsed script. Just watching a qualified person go through their normal “discovery “ process is confusing. I have the Studio version and it is yielding up its secrets, slowly. I’m enjoying the process, mostly. I am a very technical and linear sort of guy.

    When I imported the DJI pocket 3 Dlog 10-bit video to Davinci Resolve free version it showed some color grains in some clips, any way to fix it? Is Davinci Resolve free version work okay with 10-bit log footage? it looks normal when playing in VLC player ,but shows color grains in editor

    • @CharlieVN

      that is normal, you need the paid version or you can try this workaround I made a few years ago: th-cam.com/video/2yYmqPLWBG0/w-d-xo.html In theory it should work, but I cant confirm, dont use PC for editing, use final cut on mac.

    You still haven't changed your TH-cam Name to ROBE CAMERAS, im disappointed lol. Im still debating if I should buy it, I sold all gear after testing positive for Gear acquisition syndrome, but my phone camera is not cutting it.

    Hello, I have problems with my files in Dlog-M in davinci resolve, they look like corrupted files and have strange color changes, but I open the same file in Premiere Pro and I have no problem, do you know what it could be?

    • @CharlieVN

      if running non studio version, might have trouble as noted in the video. another thing is to avoid the built in davinci lut, that is for conventional DLOG, not DLOG-M, so you will need to download and import.

    I 'm trying to follow this tutorial but when I opened my dlog video in Davinci the colors are going crazy and even without color grading they're constantly shifting. Only in Davinci this happens as regular video playback it looks fine.
    Anyone know whats going on?

    • @CharlieVN

      make sure you’re using the dlog-m downloaded from dji, make sure you’re filming in dlog-m, and double check color space is 709

    • @GForce4

      @@CharlieVN I downloaded the Lut, I see my settings are dlog m
      Whats color space 709
      EDIT I did check my color settings and I see Rec.709 Gamma 2.4 selected

    • @CharlieVN

      @@GForce4 when you select the lut make sure it's the exact one "DJI OSMO Pocket 3 DLOG-M...". Colors going crazy *usually* indicates wrong lut is applied.... another thing you can do is simply scrap the project, create a new one and try again. Your initial footage should be washed out grayish.

    • @GForce4

      @@CharlieVN I know I have the correct lut, however the lut isnt the issue as the weird color changes happen when no lut is applied
      Could this be a problem because I'm using the free version? I've been able to edit footage from my pocket 3 when its shot in normal mode just fine

    • @CharlieVN

      @@GForce4 yes, that will be a problem. I have an older video that can help you convert to prores th-cam.com/video/eqcnEkrJZug/w-d-xo.htmlsi=AqCYlISeGZEmdfgG use this for informational purposes or to create your lut, but it can be a pain otherwise. it should work, and there's a followup video to that in case it doesnt work the first time around.

  • @cyberxspeed

    This sounds like a huge pain especially for someone who's gonna have hundreds have footage. I'll stick with the standard profile for now.

    • @CharlieVN

      The idea is the supposed to be the opposite, you create one LUT to handle every scenario. The LUT is created is free, you can try it, if it doesn’t work out, then you can make your own spin. It’s meant to have a timeless standard color science rather than over saturated look from DJI, more in line with DJI’s cinema offerings, which are substantially different, but still “standard”
